Captain Sensible

Who is the best FPL captain for Gameweek 37?

Fantasy Premier League managers have a straight shoot-out between three of this season’s best assets for the Gameweek 37 captaincy.

Bruno Fernandes (£11.4m), Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) and Harry Kane (£11.8m) are all in the conversation although any Fantasy managers chasing their mini-league rivals might be looking at differentials too.

Mason Greenwood (£7.2m), as well as Spurs’ midfielders Gareth Bale (£9.2m) and Son Heung-min (£9.7m) are also on the radar in a week with plenty of choice.

As always, the Captain Sensible article is here to help you with this week’s armband decisions. As this includes extensive data from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

CAPTAIN POLL

It comes as little surprise that the aforementioned trio ofFernandes, Salah and Kane dominate this week’s Captain Poll.

Ahead of facing Fulham in front of an Old Trafford crowd, Manchester United’s talismanic midfielder has the slight edge with 33.1% of total votes so far.

Meanwhile, Salah currently sits in second with a decent chance of overtaking Fernandes, with his current backing at 32.0%.

After scoring Spurs’ first goal against Wolves and rewarding his owners with eight points in Blank Gameweek 36, Kane has been voted as the best captain for the upcoming round of fixtures by just over 15.0% of our users.

The only remaining player to have gained more than 5.0% of total votes so far is Greenwood, as he is looking to continue his impressive goalscoring form.

Cannot decide between these 2. Harrison seems to be more on form and sharing set pieces with Dallas- also up against KWP so may be room to get in behind him.

Who would you go for? Leading ML by 2 points only. Person in second has no Leeds players. Person in third has Raphinha and is 7 points behind me

    A Raphinha or
    B Harrison

Yeah I'm 50-50 on starting Lingard/Siggy. It's hard as WBA have been better at the back but Siggy also hasn't done anything really of late.

        1. RogDog_jimmy

Plus Siggy came off for Bernard (I think it was him) - whereas Lingard will play until his legs drop off.
I wonder if Everton line up differently to try and inject some life into their team after the SHU debacle.

Who will score the most in GW37? Planning to buy one.

    A) Dallas
    B) Raphinha
    C) Harrison

A seems like the safe pick due to ownership, but the other two may score higher this week??

  13. Ten Season Wonder

Current GW37 team (1FT) - (scared of not having salah)

    Guaita
    Shaw - Dallas - TAA - Coleman
    Bruno - Greenwood - Bale - Son
    Kane - Bamford
    ---
    Subs_ Sanchez; Nacho, Martinelli, Targett.

    -
I still have WC which I planned to save to final GW.
But should I use it now to get in Salah?

do a mock wc for this week and next week - are they much different?
can you get 15 players that cover both weeks?

saving the WC for gw38 seems a waste of that chip for me but i'm sure there was a reason along the way

      1. Ten Season Wonder

I was planning to use FH (but used that last GW instead).

I am scared of not owning Salah. But final GW always has so many twists.

in that case i'd WC this week.
you're just as likely to get a wc wrong and right next gameweek with the weirdness - so try and do it now for 2 weeks and see if you can maximize one of them.

alright - some bench advice please

    Meslier
    TAA, Coufal, Digne, Rudiger
    Salah (c), Lingard, Son, Greenwood
    Kane, DCL

    Forster, Nacho, J-Rod, Holding

    a. Play 4 at the back (leave as is)
    b. Nacho over Rudiger
    c. J-Rod over Rudiger
    d. Nacho & J-Rod over Rudiger & Lingard

    other ideas?

Interesting. my thinking is the chances of Lei scoring are low - and of it being Nacho even lower.
So lets say its 50/50 Lei score.
And if they do it's 50/50 that Nacho does it.

Would mean Rudiger has a 50% chance of a return, and Nacho a 25% chance.

So in order to pick Nacho over Rudiger I'd have to think it highly likely Leicester score - and I just don't think the chances are that high.

As a proper diff i like Willock.

if you pick Harrison you're relying on Leeds doing well but not Raphinha - which is unlikely.

Foden you might get 90 minutes from over 2 games.

Willock has amazing fixtures, form, and will get 180 mins most likely.

El Ghazi to Greenwood for free then another move -4. Not too worried re hit as I’m chasing. Need to free up 0.3m. Either way some kind of benching headache

Could do Mendy to Meslier/Dubravka (or save Meslier to 38).
Maybe Lingard to Wilock (bench) which would allow Ings to Aguero last game.

    Mendy Forster
    Trent Shaw Dallas Keane Holding

A bit of tough one, Lingard straight swap to Greenwood makes the most sense but if you really wanted to free up money then go for Meslier as you don't want to be without a keeper on the final day just in case both are benched

Leading my ML by 50 pts. Would you do the following moves for a -4???

    a. Sanchez > Dubravka

    b. Jota > Harrison/Raph?

Or just play Martinez and do B?

If B who would you pick?

Use bench boost this week or wait until next week?

    Mendy - Martinez
    TAA - Digne - Dallas - Coufal - Coady
    Salah - Son - Greenwood - Lingard - Raphinia
    Kane - DCL - Wood

Any more transfers this week (i.e. Coady) would cost -4.

Bench boost looks better this week. Coady to Holding maybe?
