Is 10m too much to spend on GKs? (Donnarumma/Bachmann)

Depay is on fire with his form he has to be a must pick??

I’m considering taking Kane out and putting him in

The one thing that's stopping me is Ukraine. They don't appear to be a team that will concede very many. With no bonus points, I think a realistic score for Depay will be 2-6 points. Not a captaincy you will bank, and an output that can be matched by 4.5 defenders.

Despite having a good squad I'm not confident because half the players are either out of form/tired or both. Neither of the friendlies have any bearing on that though, they were barely even the second eleven.

Give 'em a break, not picking players from Man City or Chelsea. Nowhere near his first 11.

Having said that I still don't think Southgate is tactically good enough to win anything.

What do you generally think about these last friendlies as starting line up predictors? These one of the interesting ones so far. What do you think of for example Berardi (ITA)?

      SPA
      - F. Torres and P. Torres started

      POR
-Jota and Felix started (Bilva Bruno on bench)

      ITA
      -Berardi started (Chiesa on bench)

      BEL (game starting soon)
      - Castagne starting (Meunier on bench)
      - Carrasco starting
      - Is Kdb still resting after injury? What is his status anyway?

Are teams with UCL final players such that should not analyzed by these friendlies (Foden, Kdb, Bilva out or not playing for example)?

      2. Karan14
        • 7 Years

Spain & Portugal still have one more friendly left so I would base my judgment after watching those games.

I think Berardi will start he has a much better goal scoring record for Italy than Chiesa. But anyways we will have lineups before deadline.

Castagne & Carrasco are risks they might get the first game they might not. KDB probably won't make the first game as per Martinez.

Ah they will still have more games before EC. Surprisingly close to the tournament.

Considering balancing it out a bit:

      Hradecky

      Mahle / Kjaer / Denayer

      Eriksen / Torres / Mount / Berardi

      Ronaldo / Lukaku / Depay

      ----
      Bachmann / Alioski / Wijndal / Elmas

Not keen on Elmas Vs Bachmann but in isolation think they're the two best picks at that price. Thoughts?

Very similar team to me. I’ve decided to sacrifice my 5th Mid gone for 4m option. That has allowed me following upgrades:
        - Mount > Wijnaldum
        - Bachman > Dom (Ita GK)

I wasn't aware Pau Torres is nailed. If that's the case, I'll be seriously considering him over the double Denmark defence.

There's also a fun factor to consider - more team spread means more interest in more games!

      LL MD3 Team

      Hdarecky Simon
      Spina Denayer Wijndal Torres Fonte
      Jorg Eriksen Mount Malinov Torres
      Lukaku Braithwaite Kane

      Basic thought process
      - Lukaku + Kane most owned players (EO% game on the captain train)
      - Build solid team from established nations
      - Pick differentials that aggressively target the weakest team in the competition. In my view thats Finland (but you could make a case for a few others). Use Free Transfers for the 2 Danes to 2 Russians for MD2 (all players

Who at 5.5 is a better pick? He has attacking pedigree in La Liga and should play either full-back or in midfield. Seems worth a punt for 5m.

To be honest I don't like any of the £5.5m picks either. Maybe Alaba.

Your logic for Llorente sounds fine but could you downgrade to Nego and use the £1m saved more effectively?

I also prefer Jota to Bernardo. Jota is a goalscorer, that's his game. Bernardo a wonderful player but could easily go the whole tournament with no goals or assists.

Bernardo Silva seems to be a different beast for Portugal compared to city. Has excellent stats. You reckon Jota is a better pick?

Do you think hazard starts vs Russia? I’ve got carrasco currently and it seems like they are competing for the same position...

I don’t know really? I thought he would get the nod but now I’m doubting it. I wanted Kdb but the injury ended that

I'm stuck on Berardi or Chiesa. Anyone got a convincing argument for either? Berardi is left footed and Chiesa right footed, so I guess whether Mancini wants to play one onm the right as an inside forward or a winger will give an idea. But to be honest, I'm a bit stuck...

You will get the line up before hand but on recent performances Berardi is on top I’d think?

I think I may go Berardi then. Helps me upgrade a defender.

You’ll know which one starts vs turkey before the deadline

I picked neither for same reason. Apparently Chiesa's Italian form isn't great. Not sure on Berardi's international form, came off the bench to score in last game a few days ago. But plays for Sassuolo and still made Serie A team of the year. I prefer Berardi but apparently Mancini more likely to pick Chiesa. Might track back better? Turkey are very decent opposition.

I think Berardi will start and Chiesa won't. But as mentioned, we'll be able to check before the first match

Is Spinazzola too uncertain a pick? Have Bonnuci, trying not to die of boredom.

They have no better left back. Emerson doesn't play for Chelsea.

Yes but inexplicably Mancini might prefer Emerson.

Is the correct way to set your team up to just have the three players with the latest dates to play on yiur bench. Regardless of position played or cost?
      Or am I missing something?

I guess so. I have Ronaldo and Jota on my bench currently.

Not playing so seriously but this is my side at the moment:

      Krul-Hradecky
      Trimmel-Torres-Denayer-Wijndal-Ristovski
      KdB-Torres-Insigne-Baumgartner-Brekalo
      Lukaku-Memphis-Kalajdzic

Some thoughts as someone half-dutch and an avid bundesliga watcher and FBL player:

-Memphis picks himself, involved in everything the dutch do
      - If Berghuis will start he will slot into my side at the expense of Brekalo
-I expect a big start for Austria with North Macedonia then Ukraine and I think Trimmel (a sensational crosser of the ball), Sasa (an instinctive, very tall finisher), and Baumgartner (an absolute rising star) are all very good picks. Hinteregger is a decent shout at 4.5 but I will always take the wingback over CB. Alaba is a head scratcher I don't get why everyone is picking him outside of price (I don't see him playing on the wing) and Sabitzer will play deep
      - Brekalo is playing for a transfer and I expect a big tournament from him and the potential to sneak one past england.
      - I think Baumgartner will turn some heads and he is my biggest recommendation provided he will start. I expect he will though.

Love your team mate, some very fun differentials in there. How nailed is this Trimmel fella? I'd like an Austrian defender but I just don't fancy Hinteregger, he's a bit boring!

i like the Baumgartner pick, i watched a good chunk of the Austria game earlier and was impressed by him, my other takeaways were the Keeper Bachmann is quite good and Arnie is miles better than the other guy

Why is all the talk of playing the limitless chip in GW2 and setting up your team for GW1 & 3 (excluding anyone with a plan to wildcard in GW3).

To me you would set your team up for GW1 & 2, when the games are tighter and more cagey. Any team who gets a point in either of their first two games will always have something to play for in GW3.

GW3 should be more open as teams have to go for it to qualify, plus some of the bigger teams who have won their first two games may rotate.

      Thoughts?

Agree, that's exactly what happened in the 2018 World Cup.

Half the teams in the fantasy comp. ended up with only 7 or 8 playing in Matchday 3
