Ukraine has one of the easiest games at gameweek 2
Yarmolenko, Malinovski are 2 of the players everyone (that uses wildcard or limitless) has to consider

And Zinchenko. He was playing CM and is a listed Defender. He isn’t afraid to get forward either.

From my previous Euro/WC experience, premium team defenders and GKs earn us points consistently. So with/without Limitless chip, pump in the funds in them. What say?

I think combination of both is necessary for a balance team. Like 1 premium GK and 1 cheapie. 2 premium defenders and 3 cheapies.

Going full premium at back might result in poor/compromised attack.

True. Maybe in knockout rounds concentrate on forwards more and midfielders less, when teams become defensive and attack less. Few chances here and there.

    Donnaruma
    Spinazzola Zinchenko MFernandes Dumfreys
    Wijnaldum Yarmolenko Insigne(1) KDB
    Kane(3) Lukaku(2)
    (Lloris, Mbappe(4), Perisic, Pavard)

    LLMD2, any thoughts?

    3x France
    3x Italy
    2x Ukraine
    2x Belgium
    2x England

Looks good, Wijnaldum was very lucky with the one chance he got, I'm more tempted by Hazard/Sterling/Grealish/Forsberg

Also, depending on France form, might go Griezmann over Lukaku myself and cap Hazard/KDB

I think Wijn is a good pick, he was getting forward and had another good chance where should have done better. Great scoring record for them. He's nailed in my LL, especially with not having a spot for Depay in front 3.

I always saw Eriksen as a risk for blanking. He doesn't get good service and it struck me that he'd be lucky to get a goal or assist that he created himself from a set piece. I had him in my squad as it seemed worthwhile just testing him out in GW one, but I would not have captained him.

Talisman for his team. On all set pieces. Extra point for a goal. Extra point for goals from outside the box. There were lots of reasons. It’s easy with the benefit of hindsight to sit and go, “I don’t know why you’d choose the guy who almost died over the guy who scored two goals”.

    Decision time!
GW3 will be the make or/and break GW IMO.
Choose the "limitless chip" becomes all important.
In GW2 we should have planned initially for GW3 as I did but Denmark who I planned to move out of for Germany becomes an issue as I have no trust in my defenders.
So plan 2. Use the WC in GW 3? That is a problem in itself. Rotation could be a major issue and the quarter finals rears its ugly head.
I am in the same boat as many so what are you guys doing?

    1. Proedros78
      • 2 Years

we are in the same boat.
The quarterfianls is a real headache but on the other hand if i don't use the Wilcard at Gameweek 2, my team would be below average, especially if Poland scores against Spain, which is pretty possible.

GW3 rotation is something no one can avoid, whether its LL or WC or normal team. With WC/LL in GW3, atleast we have an advantage of picking players who have something to play for.

Like Germany and Spain are probably going to field a strong side. Maybe Ukraine and Denmark as well. They do have decent fixtures as well.

QFs with only 4 games and spread over 2 days probably has low potential of huge scores, so I think 3-4 transfers should solve majority of the problems. Wouldnt lose sleep over just 1 GW.

Ideal strategy is to avoid LL in GW2 if possible but many teams are in tatters.

      1. Eze Really?
        • 9 Years
        2 years, 9 months ago

All good points. It is about a good GW in the group stage vs a possible bad 1 in the QF's. The points ceiling is lower in the QF's. Just using limitless is having a 112 mil team scoring no better than normal sides.

    4. Gleys11
      • 3 Years

Plan was LL Gw3 and WC in QF.
Now seriously considering LL QF and WC SF.
Team is ok after a reasonable game week and worrying that GW3 might be a waste of LL if some top players are rested.
I figure QF we know for sure all the best players will play.
So can load up on them all.
Not necessarily a popular plan I know, but thinking about it.

Two goals is more than expected from a forward - even if CR7 is more than able to equal it and surpass it, it feels like too much of a gamle.

If it is a runaway game, they will protect their key assets as well - so there is a big downside.

2 before the next round starts. Then cost 4 points.
If you only make 1 transfer I believe you will have 3 available for GW3. (Providing not going to use a chip)

Just to clarify, you have 2 available between match day 1 & 2.
      Another 2 between match day 2 & 3

I thought I was having a stinker, but I'm on a pretty decent 56 with Mbappe and Ronaldo to go. Hasn't been that bad.

And I can save my LL in MD2 as well I think.

I have 3 players that I want to remove:

    Ronaldo, Yazici, Denayer

    A) Ronaldo + Denayer > Griezmann + Kimpembe (I have Mbappe already)
    B) Ronaldo + Denayer > Kane + Mings
    C) Ronaldo + Yazici > Yaremchuk + KdB/Sterling

Current captain scored 6 points (so 12 points if I keep him as captain). Only Diogo Jota left to play, would you:

    A) Stick
    B) Twist captaincy to Jota

      Twist if he starts

If it was Ronaldo I'd twist but Jota is pretty risky. He could get hauled at half time or before 60 for a 1 pointer. Depends on your risk appetite I suppose and whether you're going for a big score or not.

I think I'd gamble on Jota after team news
