Ronaldo backers in last chance for Matchday 2 captain haul

All eyes are on Cristiano Ronaldo (€12.1m) as Portugal face Germany on the last day of EURO Fantasy Matchday 2.

The talismanic forward is owned by 31% of managers at this stage of the competition, many of whom will have turned to him with their captain’s armband.

After blanks for Romelu Lukaku (€11.1m), Harry Kane (€11.5m) and Kylian Mbappé (€12.0m), the scene could be set for Ronaldo to deliver.

However, Ruben Dias (€6.0m) is the most fashionable Fantasy asset in this encounter, currently sat in 36% of squads.

Despite Ronaldo’s role in penalties, 22% of managers have taken Bruno Fernandes (€10.5m) into Matchday 2, the same number who own mid-priced midfielder Joshua Kimmich (€6.0m).

The Germany international appears to be deployed at right wing-back today, on the opposite flank to Robin Gosens (€5.0m), who is classified as a defender.

13% of those playing UEFA’s game appear to be backing Germany to keep things tight with Manuel Neuer (€6.0m) the joint fifth-most-owned player in this fixture. Antonio Rüdiger (€5.5m) is also owned by the same number of managers.

Portugal XI: Rui Patrício; Guerreiro, Dias, Pepe, Semedo; Carvalho, Danilo; Jota, B Fernandes, B Silva; Ronaldo.

Germany XI: Neuer; Rüdiger, Hummels, Ginter; Gosens, Kroos, Gündogan, Kimmich; Gnabry, Havertz; Gnabry.

    Should I WC this team?

    Smeichel, Hradecky
    P.Torres, Denayer, Wijndal, Akanji, Spinazola
    KDB, Insigne, Berardi, Alaba, Nego
    Kane, Depay, Lukaku

You could. Have you used Limitless? Presumably yes. Might be best to save for QFs
We know Hazard and KDB will start.
I would not be surprised to see Berardi and Lukaku rested.

Could be argued Havertz was interfering with the goalscorer.

The second one - thought was off in the build-up. But that's why there is VAR.

Cheers. I'll see them later tonight. In fairness there are delays but VAR seems to work better in Euros than in PL.

He wears the invisibility cloak at United too, he just has pens there.

      1. KGFC

Not his fault he takes pens for United. But I think its too harsh to label him as only a penalty merchant.

His form in the second half of the season is basically just pens.

I haven't checked the stats so I cannot comment on that part. Nonetheless, at United, he is playing way forward and so at least has a greater impact on the game. Even without pens, he has a strong influence for United but here he is lacking that.

When over half his goals have been pens I think it’s fair to label him a pen merchant

This Euro shows taking pens and scoring from them are two different things... at least his conversion is fantastic and as a United fan, I'll take it no matter what all label him 😛

    3. JONALDINHO
      • 6 Years

Put any half decent player in his role at United and they’ll look amazing. He’s a good player but lacks that elite touch that the no.10 before like Ozil, Coutinho, Payet, etc had. Never seen him pick up the ball and run through 2/3 players before

      1. KGFC
        • 7 Years
        2 years, 9 months ago

Don't think he has the pace to run through 2/3 players... he is more of a trickery player which is why I think he should player a bit forward to Portugal. Right now he is lying too deep and therefore is not able to influence the game at all.

Gee wiz does anyone watch Man U games?

Bruno is the only midfielder they have with creativity and vision and the skill to pull it off.
Yes he takes and scores a lot of penalties. He’s very very very good at that.
But to discount his other stuff is insane.

He’s not always at his best - I don’t know a player who is - but I can comfortably say he’s the best player Man U have right now in terms of giving them a chance to score and win games.

(I am neither Portuguese or a Man U fan).

Does anyone watch Man U games? Have you just come out from under a rock???

Doesn't mean if you don't like a team then there are no takers... they are still a BIG club whether you like it or not. BTW, this is not about me being a United fan.

Obviously I assume people watch Man U games in general. But the way people are talking about him suggest they either don’t or don’t know what they’re looking at when they do.
He’s an amazing player for them. Almost always.

(Although in this game he has not been good).

I agree to this fully and that's also my point. Not sure why Santo doesn't play him up front a bit.
He has the quality of a good play maker and Ron and Jota can very well use his passing.

So nice for a game to live up to the hype!

Don’t think either of these (or England) are winning the whole thing but should be a good game of England do play any of them.

    Choose:
(Assuming Chiesa & Belotti both start)

    A) Chiesa & Embolo
    B) Shaqiri & Belotti

Also Day 1 captain will be out of these 4.
