FPL

Salah, Bamford, Kane, Dallas among FPL player prices revealed for 2021/22

The first batch of Fantasy Premier League player prices were announced for the 2021/22 season on Sunday.

Arsenal, Burnley, Brighton and Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, Leeds United, Liverpool, Norwich City and Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United revealed the starting prices of some or all their players via their Twitter accounts and club websites.

Of the headlines news, the starting prices for Andrew Robertson (£7.0m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.5m) have remained the same but Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane have been shunted up to £12.5m.

Stuart Dallas (£5.5m) has been reclassified as a midfielder and there have been inevitable rises for Patrick Bamford (£8.0m) and Raphinha (£6.5m).

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.0m) is now a forward and has dropped in price by £2m after his worst FPL season ever for attacking returns.

Robert Sanchez is one of a cluster of goalkeepers available at £4.5m and he’ll surely have a high ownership come Gameweek 1, with the Seagulls near the top of our Season Ticker in the opening few months.

We’ve got a full team-by-team rundown below, while you can get loads more data on all the players in question and much more in our Premium Members Area – and there’s a completely free trial available now.

CUSTOMISABLE PLAYER PRICE LIST

FPL hasn’t officially relaunched yet for the new campaign so we’ll be listing all of today’s prices in a customisable spreadsheet (as seen below) cooked up by the super-talented TopMarx.

Head to this link here and select ‘File>Make a Copy’ to start your own tinkering and sort by price, team and position.

TEAM BY TEAM

LIVERPOOL

Despite Alexander-Arnold registering 50 fewer FPL points in 2020/21 than he did in his previous campaign, the Liverpool right-back looks set to remain the priciest defender in the game.

A late-season surge in which he averaged 7.5 points per match over the final 10 Gameweeks may well have influenced FPL Towers, as the England international – along with many of his team-mates – had flattered to deceive up until that point.

The ever-present Robertson outscored his fellow full-back over the season by one point and is half a million cheaper, despite having matched Alexander-Arnold’s assist count of eight in 2020/21.

And Salah’s worst season for FPL points since moving to Merseyside hasn’t stopped the powers-that-be increasing his starting price to £12.5m.

Bruno Fernandes will surely be at least that, given the Manchester United’s achievements in the campaign just gone.

Salah remains a midfielder, at least, which seems to have killed any notion that we might see a rejig of the positional classifications.

Sadio Mane (£12.0m) and Diogo Jota (£7.5m) are also in that category, with Roberto Firmino (£9.0m) a forward as before.

Elsewhere, the soon-to-be-fit Virgil van Dijk comes in at £6.5m.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Harry Kane‘s reward for posting career-best attacking returns and FPL points in 2020/21 has been a hefty price hike.

The Spurs man’s starting price has increased from £10.5m to £12.5m, the same as it was in 2017/18 and 2018/19.

Cynics might also suggest that the price-makers will have one eye on Kane’s potential summer move away from north London, although it could be argued that 37 attacking returns and 242 points merited a Salah-esque tag outright.

Son Heung-min broke his own personal record for FPL points in a single season by some distance, smashing his previous best by 50 in the campaign just gone.

His price rise is not quite so astronomical, up from £9.0m to £10.0m.

Hugo Lloris (£5.5m) and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (£5.0m) are priced as they were this time a year ago.

LEEDS UNITED
Full FPL Price List

Bamford’s starting price rise of £2.5m could well end up being the biggest of the season.

The Leeds striker plundered 28 attacking returns and 194 points in 2020/21 from a now unthinkable Gameweek 1 cost of £5.5m and was unsurprisingly FPL’s best-value forward, based on points per million spent.

Raphinha came to prominence midway through the campaign, hitting 15 goals and assists in his final 22 appearances – again, that was from a starting price of £5.5m.

Illan Meslier has been shunted up a price rung to £5.0m after finishing third in the goalkeepers’ FPL points table but there is otherwise plenty of budget routes into the Whites’ improving backline, with all of their defenders listed at £4.5m.

Stuart Dallas is no longer part of that rearguard in Fantasy terms, of course, having been reclassified.

Eight goals as a £5.5m midfielder would still have been noteworthy, however, so he’ll perhaps not have the same fall from grace as John Lundstram did upon his rebadging a year ago.

BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION
Image

Sanchez’s £4.5m listing is surprising given that Albion finished the season as one of the division’s form defensive sides.

The Seagulls’ total of nine clean sheets from Gameweek 19 onwards was the third-best in the English top flight, while only Chelsea conceded fewer goals than their 17 over this period.

Elsewhere, Pascal Gross – the leading chance creator among FPL midfielders in 2021 – and Yves Bissouma have seen their starting prices frozen at £6.0m and £4.5m respectively.

Leandro Trossard is up half a million at £6.5m, however, having finished the campaign as Brighton’s highest-scoring FPL asset with 132 points.

ARSENAL
The Fantasy Premier League prices revealed for 21/22: Aubameyang (10.0), Smith Rowe (5.5), Pepe (7.5) and Gabriel (5.0)

Aside from Aubameyang, Emile Smith Rowe (£5.5m) and Nicolas Pepe (£7.5m) have been perhaps kindly priced, too, given how strong a finish to the season both players had.

Smith Rowe was a regular starter from Boxing Day onwards, variously deployed in both a number 10 role and on the left flank.

The budget midfielder contributed two goals and five assists from Gameweeks 15-38.

Pepe was in superb form at the back-end of 2020/21, scoring on five occasions in his final three appearances.

A lack of assured game-time has been off-putting with the Ivorian but he was a more prominent part of Mikel Arteta’s plans towards the season’s end.

Gabriel has also been listed as a £5.0m defender.

WEST HAM UNITED
2021/22 Fantasy Premier League player prices

There are price rises across the board for West Ham United’s overachievers of 2020/21.

Assist machines and fellow full-backs Vladimir Coufal (£5.0m) and Aaron Cresswell (£5.5m) are handed price rises of half a million each, having supplied a combined 20 of West Ham’s goals in the campaign just gone.

Ten-goal Tomas Soucek (£6.0m) is a million pound more expensive than he was a year ago, which is also the case with forward Michail Antonio (£7.5m).

Lukasz Fabianski will set FPL managers back £5.0m.

BURNLEY
Image

The starting prices of Nick Pope (£5.5m) and Ben Mee (£5.0m) are unchanged, while James Tarkowski (£5.0m) has dropped half a million.

Chris Wood has been given a modest rise after his end-of-season burst of 11 attacking returns in eight appearances, up from £6.5m to £7.0m.

Pope remaining at £5.5m is a bit of a deterrent, especially as the Clarets finished the season in pretty dire form defensively: they kept just four clean sheets in their final 20 games.

Saying that, Pope’s points-per-match average of exactly 4.5 was almost identical to what it was in his previous campaign.

CRYSTAL PALACE
Image

We’ve another £4.5m goalkeeper to consider at this embryonic stage of the 2021/22 campaign, with Vicente Guaita taking a drop into budget shot-stopper territory.

Fantasy managers will likely be waiting to take the plunge on the Palace number one, however, and not just because of the uncertainty that a new manager will bring.

The Eagles are rock-bottom of our Season Ticker from Gameweeks 1-10, with seven of the teams who finished in the top eight last season awaiting Roy Hodgson’s former charges.

Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m) remains a midfielder despite spending a decent chunk of his time in 2020/21 in a front two, with his late-season strike partner, Christian Benteke, earning a price rise to £6.5m after his recent purple patch.

Former budget favourite Tyrick Mitchell is now listed at £4.5m.

All of Norwich City’s assets have been priced up upon their return to the top flight.

Teemu Pukki will begin the season at £6.0m; the Finland international hit 11 goals in Norwich’s previous Premier League campaign, over half of which came in the first five Gameweeks.

He’s back in the English top tier having plundered 26 goals in Daniel Farke’s side’s latest promotion-winning year.

Tim Krul is yet another £4.5m-rated goalkeeper, with every other City player – including defender Grant Hanley (£4.5m) and midfielder Todd Cantwell (£5.5m) – also in the budget bracket.

3 players from Germany is the best option.
    Gosens, Gnabry and 1 more.
    Watch out something very important.
Coaches would protect players that have 1 yellow card.
For example, Kimmich - 1 yellow - would be substituted after Germany secure their win against Hungary.

Good point. Though from another perspective I'd fancy a high chance for Havertz in any goal involvement that leads to that sealing of the win.

I’d need to find 0.5 to get Simon who is ideally have. Thinking that I’ll see whether Sirugu plays before deadline so if not, he’s gone. If he does play then having Krul should be fine (I’ll see the Netherlands team before I make subs).

Bottomed. Any concerns with this (on WC)?

    Stekelenburg / Simon
Spinazzola, Rodriguez, Robertson / Gosens, Torres
Berardi, Yarmolenko, De Bruyne, Alaba / Havertz
    Embolo/Belotti, Yaremchuk, Morata

£1.3m ITB to tweak once the lineups are out. If I don't need to spend to fix the Italian players, Stek > £5.5m keeper.

Sort of. You can technically make the transfers, but they'll revert to the players you had previously as soon as Limitless.

Not sure whether I'd make changes as such, but am hearing noises that Meunier may not be nailed. I'm also not totally sure that there's enough value in Ronaldo for this round of fixtures.

i thing the Switzerland - Turkey match would have a lot of goals.
I am thinking about Shaqiri - Embolo.
    Rodriguez is a sure pick.
But for Shaqiri, he is substituted at 66th and 76th minute.
Embolo has a yellow card but any goals Switzerland scores, he is going to be involved.
