Everton conceded fewer goals than Leicester last season and have better fixtures so White gets my vote.
Not much between them though, so go with the one who rotates best with your other defenders.

Would be hilarious If White ends up at Everton instead of Arsenal having already lost out on Buendia to Aston Villa. Will truly show Arsenal are well and done as a top club.

I can't believe Arsenal are included in the 'Top 6' filter in the members area and Leicester aren't.
I always have to change it manually.

Should be done at least one or two years ago. Leicester looks consistent after winning the league and Arsenal is another way around.

Also whadaya think are the odds of Pepe starting GW1. He went goal crazy at the end last season. Thinking of punting on him if the Grealish drama continues into the start of the season.

Sorry for the late reply. Was out of the loop for a bit. Think Pepe should be nailed to start as we don't look like signing any wide players this window and Pepe looks like is finally getting his foot in in the league. Still watch out for the preseason games tho. Should provide a better picture.

Am I GTG? wc team 0.0itb

    Donna - Pickford
    Spina - Meunier - Maehle - Stones - Maguire
    FTorres - Sarabia - Chiesa - Sterling - Daamsgard

If one of Sarabia/Torres doesnt start I will get Zuber/Shaq and Maguire to Azpi/Laporte

I’m not as confident in Italy defence after Austria games I’d go Simon instead of Donna. I also fancy Belgium though so that’s biasing my pick too.

Yeah Olmo starting and Sarabia benched ruins my plans.

I think im going Ferran Kane Morata Stones Maguire for -8. Bank on a England clean sheet and sterling blank. Cant see Sterling keeping up his form. And i think Kane might kick on. Ferran/Sarabia based on Lineups, probably Ferran (c) if plays, if not Morata(c)

Currently got 4x Italy, 1x Belgium, 2x Denmark. Including KDB and Berrardi. Think i’ll just go with a -8 and bring in 3x England and 2x Spain. I’m banking on an England CS.

Depay Benzema Dumfreys Pavard Wijnaldum > Kane Morata Stones Maguire and Sarabia/Torres. Probably Torres (C) if he starts.

My initial thoughts on my FPL team this year:

    Sanchez, Steele
    Cresswell, Digne, Dunk, Coufal, Williams
    Salah, Fernandes, Raphinha, Buendia, Harrison
    DCL, Iheanacho, Wilson

Great rotation from the first 4 defenders to fill 3 spots. All should be nailed on, have good fixtures for the first 7 weeks and look under-valued.
Williams is in the hope that he will move to SOU but is permanent 3rd sub.
Salah and Fernandes rotate captaincy well for the first 7 games and then I will get a City player in for Fernandes.
There looks to be a lot of value around the £6.5m mark this year. Raphinha feels the most under priced player in the game and Harrison isn't far behind.
There are so many £7.5/£8m attackers that you can fill all 3 spots with them and use a few transfers whenever you feel like a change and I'm definitely eyeing up the Leeds triple attack with Bamford when their fixtures improve.

I like having a strong sub as there is no panic if a player gets injured or dropped, I can rotate my squad based on fixtures and hopefully all my players will be increasing in value.
If Lingard goes to West Ham I will probably need a reshuffle to fit him in.

      Nice

If TAA bangs early on you'll be in a world of pain though - his ownership is colossal, his pedigree is unquestionable, his form was good, his fixtures are good, VVD is back, and at 7.5 plus a few price rises you're looking at surgery if he does an Alonso (or a TAA) early doors

Watkins & Toney also building up ridiculous ownerships... But perhaps easier for you to get in with that structure if they start well

Agree on Lingard - hopefully he goes to West Ham as its difficult to fit Antonio in with all the striker options, and 7.0 could be quite good value

Salah, Bruno, Jlingz, Raphinha will be mega template, with Watkins, DCL, Toney up front

DCL is such a nice pick early on - mostly because of his price allowing the jump to Bamford or any other 7.5 striker if he doesn't work out... and his fixtures give him a decent chance of not needing a FT at least early on

      1. Zimo
        • 5 Years

I never thought I'd hear Jesse Lingard being regarded as a template player. What a bizarre world we live in

Shows how quickly the world of football can change!

But I think if he goes back to west ham, he'll be mega popular with that price and penalties

His form was shocking for his last 6 games mind you, but that's what you get at 7.0

West ham "coverage"would just be too appetising, and doesn't take up a forward slot like Ant-Man would (also 0.5 cheaper)

I think Rice missed his last one vs West Brom, and JLingz scored his last one vs newcastle (when rice was injured)

So it might still be up for grabs, plus rice may not even be at West Ham soon enough, but yeah Lingard may not be on them right out the gate

Potentially Nice option at 7.0 though, albeit his form from last season was totally unsustainable so wouldn’t be expecting anywhere near that level of output from him either

Personally thinking lingard won't sign. He seems more interested in a new contract and a place in the man utd squad. But hopefully he'll join. West ham we're a different animal with him.

        Thanks for the detailed feedback.

I've owned TAA for the last 2 years and it feels weird taking him out of my team. There is always the possibility of Cresswell and Buendia to TAA and Bissouma but I like the flexibility that I have with 13 good players. He is definitely the player that I'm most worried about not owning. Historically Liverpool's cleansheets haven't been great at the start of the season so I'll cling to that!

I've never considered ownership in any FPL decisions, I just pick the player combination that I think will score the most points. Watkins didn't have as good points per game as Wilson or Iheanacho (once he was starting games) although I do know he hit the woodwork 7 times and has 3 good opening fixtures. I don't like Brenford's opening 9 fixtures so that should give me plenty of time to watch Toney play but I don't think I'll be rushing to get him in earlier than that.

        1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
          • 14 Years

Yeah, It feels almost dirty bringing ownership into FPL decision making

But unfortunately as the game has grown it has become a stat we can’t ignore either

It’s when you combine high ownership with high potential and good fixtures that you start to get very very exposed to certain events and have to decide whether you have an appetite for the exposure or want to hedge it away for a period…

TAA feels like a rank killer for those initial fixtures all things considered, or at the very least that he could pretty erode any gains made from good picks elsewhere

But very high upside if you go without and he doesn’t smash and your extra 2.0 in attack does smash though, for sure!

I'm very tempted by the Harrison/Raph double up; its just whether its from the start or later. Harrison at LUFC will be every bit as undervalued as Raph.
TAA is the big omission here, but Cresswell & Digne might easily be a better bet than Trent+ fodder.

      1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
        • 14 Years

Harrison looks silly at 6.0, Raphinha at 6.5 is just bonkers too

        WTF were they thinking

To be fair, if (pre-price release) we were told you could have Bamford, Raphinha & Harrison for 20.5 between them (I.e. less than 7.0 each) you’d have been accused of smoking dope

That attack scored 62 goals last year, and can do it again

Raphina and Harrison look the most under-priced in the whole game.
This is the reason I have no Leeds defender, I'm expecting all three attackers in my team for most of the season.

Not playing Euro fantasy, so here's the initial FPL draft... any thoughts appreciated! £1.5m ITB and would potentially look at Sancho depending on price. Would reshuffle to include Kane as well if he goes to City - but for now....

I think Italy are due a penalty tbh, surprising they haven't yet - Damsgaard is a very interesting option that I hadn't considered though, will do some thinking!

Grealish has to start imo, he played really well last game and I think he's nailed his spot now

          Fair point on the pens.

And yeah I agree Grealish should start but I’m not sure Southgate will start him - (I’m a Villa fan too - so well bias!!) I am tempted to squeeze him in though, as even off the bench you would fancy him to do some damage v Ukraine.

I think Immobile will have same problems as Ronaldo had against Belgium 3 CBs.

Is anyone favouring Italy to beat Belgium?

I got to say I think Belgium are going to get it done.

Thoughts on LL team for QF (WC for SF)

    Simon/Pickford
    Maguire/Shaw/Maele/Laporte/Spinaz
    Damsgaard/KDB/Sterling/Sarabia/torres
    Kane/Morata/Lukaku

    Alternative-
    insigne instead of Damsgaard?
    Schick instead of Morata?
Meunier instead of Maguire or Shaw?

Am also playing my LL, I decided not to play italtian or belguim players as it going to be a tight game ( my thought) but in gerneral looks decent I would stick with the english defence, i cant see URK doing much !! look look below at my team !!

Great team. I would stay with initial team. I think if you are going Limitless now and WC in next round best thing is to go heavy on teams you think will go through.

      Cheers chaps!

Yeah I’m similar- be really surprised if Ukrainian score v England.

Italy v Belgium I see having goals - Italy looked suspect v Austria. And Lukaku looks well up for it - I can see him denting that Italian defence.

I also think the Denmark v Czech game may be low scoring but who knows - that’ll probably end 4-4 or something now that I’ve said that.

Yes you can make subs and tweak the starting line up.

You can change captains for tomorrow’s game.

Remember that After LL chip your team will go back to what it was before you played. So assuming you also have a WC to play?

I like the team from the point of view you’re avoiding Italy v Belgium. I’d have Maele in though instead of Christiansen.

    On WC here.

    Any suggestions?
    Will Chiesa start over Berardi?

    Pickford/Donna
    Shaw/Azpi/Spin/Mahle/Meunier
    Sterling/Sarabia/Chiesa/Damsgard/FTorres
    Kane/Morata/Lukaku

    G2G?

    Simon, Pickford
    Spinazzola, Stones, Meunier, Maehle, Maguire
    Sterling, Chiesa, Zuber, Sarabia, Damsgaard
    Lukaku, Morata, Schick

Obviously can make last min changes to Spain players if the line-up makes it necessary.

got 3.9 itb - any suggestions?

Looks great- I’d go Shaw though instead of Maguire or Stones.

Chiesa may not start I guess but should and is dangerous off the bench anyway

Seeing quite a few going for Chiesa over Insigne. Is there any indication that Chiesa will even start?

Yes, many sites and journalist predicted it plus uefa euro site. Its a punt worth a risk, Chiesa is great player and he could have a lot of space against Belgium wingbacks

whilst Berardi was doing his best Adam Lallana impression, Chiesa came on and did a Bergkamp.

      no contest imo

I think he deserves to start, but Mancini likes Berardi. I'm happy paying the extra for Insigne personally.

Mancini would be making a mistake in my opinion to start Beradi over Chiesa - Chiesa looked far better every time he’s come on. But he’s won every game so may stick with Beradi for that.

Definetly found a nice one that can be made out of 4.5s from top half teams (i argue that brighton defensively are a top half team)

    Ars + Bha + Leeds + Leic

picking the easiest 2 fixtures each week gives these opponents over the first 9 GWs.
    Burnley (5), Palace (3), Norwich (3), Wolves (2), Brentford (2), Watford (2), Everton (1)

5th or 6th time posting this....

    My potential hit team:

    Immobile-Morata
    F. Torres-Sarabia-Shaqiri-Insigne
    Spinazzola-Maehle-Maguire-Walker
    Donnarumma

    Bench:

    (Stekelenburg)-Kane-P. Torres-KDB

    Transfers to be made:

    Benzema -> Morata
    Depay -> Kane
    Wijna -> F. Torres
    Forsberg -> Shaqiri
    Dumfries -> Maguire
    Roberts -> Walker

    Any suggestions?

I would like Sterling there somehow...

do you need to take that many hits? make sure you can field 11, any more hits than that is likely to be rank destroying
