Kane missing for Spurs as Guardiola starts Grealish and Mahrez

The most-anticipated Premier League fixture of the weekend sees reigning champions Manchester City take on Tottenham Hotspur, as Nuno Espirito Santo begins his reign as manager. (We’ll be following the match live and discussing key points in a live YouTube watchalong).

For the home team, Harry Kane (£12.5m) misses out completely with Son Heung-min (£10.0m) set to lead the line in his absence.

The South Korean international has impressed during pre-season and has an excellent record against Man City. In fact, he has only scored more goals in all competitions against Southampton.

Japhet Tanganga (£4.5m) starts at right-back, a role he was trialled in during last weekends friendly win against Arsenal, alongside Davinson Sanchez (£4.5m), Eric Dier (£4.5m) and Sergio Reguilón (£5.0m).

Dele Alli (£6.5m) features from the off, too, with new arrivals Bryan Gil (£6.0m) and Cristian Romero (£5.0m) both having to settle for a place on the bench.

As for Manchester City, new signing Jack Grealish (£8.0m), owned by 24.4% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, starts for the visitors in north London, with Riyad Mahrez (£9.0m), Ferran Torres (£8.0m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.0m) completing the forward line.

Kevin De Bruyne (£12.0m), meanwhile, is on the bench with John Stones (£5.5m) and Kyle Walker (£5.5m), while Phil Foden (£8.0m) misses out with a foot injury as expected.

Kick-off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is at 16.30 BST.

I missed the deadline to make changes as the game updated as I tried to make changes. Foolish for leaving it so late. . Esr would have been the change to benrahma so and white to a amrty had I been a minute quicker..... Doh.

    Anyway.... Team is

    Sanchez (Foster)
TAA Shaw Tsimikas, ayling (White, )
    Salah Bruno Esr, Barnes (gibson)
    Ings Dcl (Toney)

Should I upgrade on Esr to benrahma, sarr or other now?

Or hold and go longer term and use my tfers to get in lukaku.....

If you are, when are you looking to bring in Lukaku? Fixtures look quite complicated, but I guess you ignore that for such a player

Not planning to unless he starts outscoring Salah and Fernandes by a lot. You can’t have them all and he’ll do well to keep up with them.

      I’m in no rush.

A lot of players are doing well enough for us to bide our time in my opinion.

We can't have all Bruno, Salah, Lukaku and Kane in our teams same time. Therefore we have to be aware of their fixtures.

I don't ignore fixtures for any player. The closest was maybe KDB when he was playing further forward against top teams and deeper against lower teams.

Not expecting to want Lukaku before GW7.

It’s a tough one but Burnley are no mugs at the back and Dyche will go there to defend for their lives. Could be only a few goals in it. I’m on Bruno at the moment and I own both

    Assuming Kane moves to City...
    Kane or Lukaku?!

I think I'm on Lukaku (even with those fixtures), but maybe the real answer is both, and lose Salah... 😐

I'm thinking I may need to transfer Jota out. I'm not convinced he'll start next week. I'm pretty set on bringing in Willock, already have Benrahma. I had £3m in the bank at the start of the season so after that transfer I could do Lukaku in for Jimenez? Thoughts?

Looking at the Pogba stats I just cant see him doing that well by the end of the season. I'm concerned he'll play deeper with sancho playing and be the guy getting the assist to the actual assister. I fear that GW was just a fluke. But Willock I love, his stats from last year are ludicrous

Can you remove people from a mini league once the game has started? I'm reading you can't as it messes points structure but surely you can give them a indefinite suspension? Any feedback appreciated, thanks.

If it doesn't list hm below the Player box in Add League Suspensions in League Administration when you enter his name in the Player box, then perhaps he might have voluntarily have left the league himself?
If it does list his team, then click on that team to make it appear in the Player box and then press Suspend player.

I always use a desktop or laptop myself.

    Mini-League Leaders, Gameweek 1:

This is a report on the leaders of various Fantasy Football Scout FPL mini-leagues and community competitions after a high-scoring Gameweek 1 (if you owned Salah and Bruno and captained one of them).
TopMarx will analyse some of these in greater detail later in the week.

    FFSCOUT OPEN FPL LEAGUE

The Fantasy Football Scout mini-league (fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/68048/standings/c, league code gsnskx) is open to all.
Last season this was the Best League in FPL, based on the average scores of the top five managers in each league. Our top five all finished in the overall top 30.
The early leader is Desmond Brady who Triple Captained Salah for a score of 135, including 12 points from his auto-subs (Amartey and Ayling).

    FFSCOUT COMMUNITY MEMBERS LEAGUE

The Fantasy Football Scout Members mini-league (fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/361/standings/c) is also open to all and the league code is visible in the widget on the FFS Home page when signed in, but only those with a registered FFS account (paid or free) will be eligible for prizes.
The early leader is Ashkan Dehghani who scored 137 for a Gameweek Rank of 37th without using any chips, but with double-digit returns from captain Salah, Bruno, Antonio, Benrahma, Alonso and Pereira, and only Sanchez scoring less than 7. Ashkan has had 3 previous top 10k finishes.

    HEAD-TO-HEAD LEAGUES

8,352 teams entered the feeder league for MIR’s FFS Head-to-Head Leagues (fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/1404/standings/c) before the Gameweek 1 deadline, so there will again be 9 Leagues in the pyramid structure this season.
The highest scorer in Gameweek 1 was Rakesh Parthiban with a Bench Boosted score of 131. Rakesh finished 8,012th in 2017/18.
Promotions, relegations, allocation of teams to Divisions within these Leagues, and fixtures for each Division are now being calculated and the aim is to have it all live on site by Gameweek 2. All teams will have a Gameweek 1 fixture - they just won’t know who they played in Gameweek 1 until after the event!
See http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2021/08/10/2021-22-ffscout-head-to-head-leagues/ for an explanation of how it all works.

    LAST MAN STANDING

See http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2021/07/24/the-last-man-standing-competition-2021-2022/ for details of TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing competition (fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/26234/standings/c, league code 6dcode).
124 managers have already been eliminated in Gameweek 1 when the safety score was 71, but the other 2,280 will go through to Gameweek 2. The competition will remain open till Gameweek 22, but new entrants must pass all the previous safety scores (Home - torresmagiclms.simplesite.com) to qualify.
The highest scorer in Gameweek 1 was Aashish M who Triple Captained Salah for a score of 132.

    STRIKERS KEEPERS, LOSERS WEEPERS

Applications are now open to join the transfer market for this community team tournament organised by Boris Bodega and Grey Head, and captains will be announced this week.
    See http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2021/08/11/community-tournament-strikers-keepers-losers-weepers-player-applications-are-open/ for details.

    TOPS AND VETS

My Top 10k Any Season mini-league (fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/1378/standings/c) is for teams that have finished the season in the overall top 10,000 at least once, and its league code has been changed to kgmryk.
The early leader is Rakesh Parthiban, who was also the top scorer in the H2H feeder league.

My Multiple Top 10k Finishes mini-league (fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/1386/standings/c) is for teams with two or more top 10,000 finishes, and its league code has been changed to 03t1fd.
The early leader is Chris Clarke with a Bench Boosted score of 125. Chris has had 2 previous top 10k finishes.

In Chaballer’s Hall of Fame Top 1k mini-league (fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/39527/standings/c, league code 1zpaad) the joint early leaders are Tom Stephenson and Emil Gustafsson who are 2nd and 95th respectively in the FFS Career Hall of Fame and both scored 112.

Skooldaze’s FPL Vets League (fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/25315/standings/c, league code hz9bz2) is for teams that joined FPL in 2006/7 or even earlier.
The early leader is Simon Coulthard with 119 points. Simon has had 2 previous top 10k finishes.

    CAREER HALL OF FAME

The FFS Hall of Fame is a ranking system applied to everyone in either the Fantasy Football Scout Community Members or the Fantasy Football Scout mini-league. It aims to highlight those who have performed well over a number of years, taking into account scores from previous seasons.
There is a Career version (Career | Hall Of Fame | Fantasy Football Scout Members Area) that updates every season and a Live version (Live | Hall Of Fame | Fantasy Football Scout Members Area) that is updated every few Gameweeks, but the Live version can only be viewed by Premium Members.

Both versions were updated at the end of last season, when 56,445 managers were ranked.
The following are the top ten managers following this update, with their Career Hall of Fame positions at the end of the previous season given in brackets.

1(1) Pro Pundit Fábio Borges is still number one. In the past six seasons he has finished 4682nd, 1145th, 671st, 95th, 1965th and 1828th.
2(4) Tom Stephenson is in second place. He has now had eleven successive finishes in the top 30,000, his last three being 1841st, 375th and 1225th.
3(103) Finn Sollie shoots up to third. 39th last season was his ninth top 10k finish in the last 13 seasons.
4(33) Morten Tveito rises to fourth after his fourth successive top 10k finish, two of which were in the top thousand.
5(106) Yavuz Kabuk (Runaway) has also had a dramatic rise to fifth with his seventh successive top 10k finish, and his second in the top thousand.
6(22) Mark Mansfield rises to sixth following a sixth top 10k finish in the last nine seasons.
7(88) Jonathan Ballantyne jumps up to seventh after his third successive top thousand finish.
8(66) Garry Murray (Sharky’s Machine) rises to eighth after his second top thousand finish, which was also his sixth top 10k finish in the last seven seasons.
9(5) Alistair Hughes has had three top thousand finishes in the last seven seasons but slips to ninth after finishing just outside the top 10k this time.
10(17) Mark Hurst rises to tenth after his sixth successive top 10k finish.

Some other notable big risers were
    18(71) FFS founder Mark Sutherns,
107(1801) Ray Freeman (2nd in the Fantasy Football Scout Open FPL League last season and 19th overall) and
178(953) Pro Pundit Andy Mears (LTFPL).

Thoughts on what to do here?

    Sanchez
    TAA Shaw Tsimikas Ayling
    Salah Bruno Greenwood
    Ings Antonio Toney
    ____
    Steele White Brownhill 4.5

    2.5 itb

    A) Gwood to Mahrez (followed by Mahrez to Son (C) for gameweeks 3)
    B) 4.5 to Benrahma (bench Ayling) with 1.5 left itb
    C) 4.5 to Ferran Torres (one week punt if he looks set to start)

Anyone else find their players are coming from different teams over recent seasons?

Eg it used to be a struggle to pick which 3 city to get. Recently I have only 1 city at the most. Often zero like now.

Whereas I currently have 3 villa players and 3 West Ham!

Last year it was lots of Leeds and others.

I mean, pool still provide a picking challenge, bit many of the larger teams have huge squads now...

    Sanchez
    TAA, Shaw, Veltman, Tsimikas
    Salah, Fernandes, Mahrez, Greenwood
    Ings, Antonio

    Steele; White, Brownhill, Perica.

Plan is to save this week and then do Mahrez + Greenwood -> Son + Benrahma with 2 FTs in GW3. Sound good?
