White absent as Lukaku starts for Chelsea

Sunday’s Premier League action continues at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal host Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku (£11.5m) comes into Gameweek 2 with a significant level of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) interest.

The Belgian starts up top for Thomas Tuchel’s side, and will be supported by Mason Mount (£7.5m) and Kai Havertz (£8.4m) in the Blues 3-4-2-1 formation.

Elsewhere, Christian Pulisic (£8.0m) misses out after a positive Covid test, while N’Golo Kante (£5.0m) and Hakim Ziyech (£7.4m) are back on the bench after being injured in the UEFA Super Cup.

As for Arsenal, Ben White £4.5m) has been ruled out, as revealed by David Ornstein earlier today:

As a result, Mikel Arteta turns to Rob Holding (£4.4m), who joins Cedric Soares (£4.5m), Pablo Mari (£4.5m) and Kieran Tierney (£5.0m) at the back.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£9.9m), who has recovered from Covid, and new signing Aaron Ramsdale (£4.5m) are on the bench.

Martin Odegaard (£5.5m) has joined permanently from Real Madrid, however this game comes too soon for him.

    Easy to get carried away with trying to squeeze Lukaku in, but, vs this Arsenal team, vs Holding and Mari, he's managed 8 points. Chelsea under Tuchel don't look like blowing teams away, they control games.

            Yeah I never understand managers getting overly obsessed with price changes especially among the premium picks.

      Why are people asking if Son is injured? Just curious.

      I just feel Son getting subbed off for Kane means Kane is leaving and Nuno doesn't see Son playing in the wings again this season.

      I was thinking of keeping White and dealing with him dropping and just dealing with Tsimi with Arsenal's better fixtures from GW4, but with him likely to drop 0.2 at minimum in the next few I think it'll have to be him. But looking at their fixtures and seeing how they've been I don't even think they are good fixtures for them. Norwich will likely be looking for their first points against Arsenal and they'll have no fear like no-one else does against them, then they face Burnley that nearly always give them trouble with their physical game, and then they play Spurs. Definitely feel like I made a mistake here

        Arsenal will have Gabriel, White, Partey, Ode, Auba & Laca all back for Norwich. You can’t judge them on today against for me the best team in the league right now

          True, but they looked just as poor against Brentford. Partey has struggled to stay fit since joining so I wouldn't be relying on his availability and I'm not so sure Gabriel will make such a big improvement to them in the short run while White acclimatises

                That's my thinking. I'm worried I'll have issues in GW4 with possible Raphinha and Salah being unavailable but I don't now really think at this part of the season at least that he's worth holding onto with a big drop. Tsimi will still be transferred in until next week you'd imagine by casual players so I can hold off on him dropping too soon, maybe if really lucky until GW5 although I won't count on that

          Will WC in GW4, so losing Salah for one week is an option. Which one do you prefer? 4.0 could be Duffy so I'd get him/Veltman in the B scenario.

            The defense seems shaky. We don't know if Duffy gets gametime when Veltman is back. Same for Dier when Romero is ready. Pinnock looks kneejerky.

            I would go 4-4-2 if getting 3 big hitters. Semedo/Reguillon/Dias/Chelsea/Duffy
            Maybe a 5.5 mid and Dennis rotating
