Jota benched as Robertson returns to Liverpool XI

A mouth-watering clash at Anfield sees Liverpool take on Chelsea in the Saturday evening kick-off.

The action on Merseyside gets underway at 17:30 BST.

Jurgen Klopp has decided to make three changes to the Reds side that beat Burnley at Anfield last weekend, two of which are significant from a Fantasy perspective.

Kostas Tsimikas (£4.2m) and Diogo Jota (£7.6m) are both benched as the fit-again Andrew Robertson (£7.0m) and Roberto Firmino (£8.9m) are recalled to the starting XI.

Klopp’s other alteration sees Fabinho (£5.4m), back after missing Gameweek 2 for personal reasons, come in for Naby Keita (£5.0m) in midfield.

Teenager Harvey Elliott (£5.5m) keeps his place in the centre of the park.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has kept things simple, making just one, predictable adjustment after the 2-0 away win over Arsenal last Sunday.

That change sees N’Golo Kante (£4.9m) come into the midfield for Mateo Kovacic (£5.0m).

Marcos Alonso (£5.6m) once again starts at left wing-back, with Ben Chilwell (£5.8m) still without any game-time since May.

Romelu Lukaku (£11.5m), transferred in by over half a million Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers ahead of the Gameweek 3 deadline, is again flanked by Mason Mount (£7.5m) and Kai Havertz (£8.3m) in the Chelsea attack.

The sale of Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) was perhaps used to free up funds for the Belgian for many Fantasy bosses, with the Egyptian the most transferred-out midfielder of this Gameweek.

He is still the third-most captained player of the round, however, with just under one million of us handing him the armband.

Liverpool Xl: Alisson, Fabinho, Van Dijk, Firmino, Mane, Salah, Henderson, Robertson, Matip, Alexander-Arnold, Elliot.

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Thiago, Keita, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jota, Minamino, Tsimikas.

Chelsea XI: Mendy, Rudiger, Alonso, Christensen, Jorginho, Kante, Lukaku, Mount, James, Azpilicueta, Havertz.

Subs: Arrizabalaga, Silva, Kovacic, Werner, Loftus-Cheek, Chalobah, Hudson-Odoi, Chilwell, Ziyech.

Literally neither of them are scary. Lukaku is strong but bet he punches like a girl and bet its really slow. As for Rudiger he would just play the race card so best leaving that one alone too.

No hard men left in football, games long gone for that.

You'll regret them badly. You'll have nightmares. Your partner/kids (delete as applicable) will leave you. You'll then lose your job. And your house. You'll end up living in a cardboard box. And sitting on a high street with a mangy dog tied by a piece by your side. Begging for money.

But as always, be your own man!

Nearly everyone owns both Antonio and Fernandes though so that bit just cancels out.

It’s purely which gets the bigger score for captaincy. Of course 11 points for Antonio is excellent though

Would you WC this team over the intl break to enable a premium forward, catch rises and clear out:

Tsimikas, white, Mahrez, Scarlett, Doucoure and Ings.

          Sanchez, 4.0
          TAA, shaw, ayling, white, tsimikas
          Salah, Bruno, Mahrez, Benrahma, Doucoure
          Ings, Antonio, Scarlett

          Or do -4 for

          Mahrez, ings
          To
          Lukaku/Kane, Bissouma

            Don't think I'd wild card.

Chasing £0.1m Tsimikas profit versus losing £0.1m on White who will likely go back up in price in a couple of weeks is effectively neutral financially if that helps your thinking.

Scarlett depends on your financial structure, will you have a £4.5m FW anyway?

Are you potentially wasting your WC to remove Mahrez Ings & Doucoure? Taking a minus 4 & waiting a week to address Doucoure seems more logical than using your WC now on face value.

If a few of your players were going down in price & a few long term targets were going up, so £0.6m+ swing then maybe I'd consider it but your team doesn't look disastrous to me.

Didn’t seem to want to throw either Sancho or Varane in immediately even though they were both badly needed, so not sure he will do so with CR7 (even though he is not badly needed)

They will unveil him for sure though - and it will be a bananas atmosphere, like the Varane unveiling on steroids

He might also start him for the lolz too, who knows

Bruno should be good for 2 or 3 returns in a mauling of Newcastle either way

Great game. Before kickoff I said I'd take a draw. After second half definitely feels like 2 points dropped. Not many surprises though. VVD and Matip are world class and showed it again against Lukaku. The back four, fabinho and jota were excellent. Salah, mane and Elliot all worked hard and showed their danger but weren't good enough to break down the dominant Chelsea defence.

More of the usual from Chelsea who are simply phenomenal defensively and have a fierce fighting spirit. They are harder to beat than any team in the world right now. Havertz is becoming one of my favourite players. So inventive and just oozes class with every touch. Him mount and Lukaku look a frightening combination.

Liverpool's predictability and lack of a plan b when unable to break down a stubborn defence sitting deep is nothing new. But when a team puts in a masterful defensive performance like Chelsea did just gotta respect and take a hard fought point. The waves of attacks in the second half from Liverpool would have broken almost any other team.

The red card was clear cut and indisputable even though James was acting on instinct.

            Main takeaways for me:
Liverpool's injury nightmare last season is over and they are heading back to 20+ cs a season type form.
Lukaku is a machine and a perfect fit in this side.
Chelsea and man City are the two best sides in Europe and will be too strong for Liverpool and man utd this season.

I thought Liverpool were really good today. Press was on point. Defensively really solid. Chelsea were phenomenal though and the red card didn’t change their defensive set up. Mane is past it and the reason we didn’t win. Salah, Elliot and Trent triangle was our main spark. The left side was shocking and what let us down. I still think we challenge Chelsea for the title with City 3rd and United 4th. Wouldn’t mind a top class attacking signing like Coman to replace Mane as harsh as it may sound

It's a shame that they don't seem to be willing to spend anything. If they want to challenge for anything in coming years gotta phase out mane and firmino

You took away from that game that Lukaku is a machine? Must of been watching different games

VVD and Matip perfectly handled him, hes lazy and can't deal with a high defence. And thats before we mention his god awful touch and evident lack of dribble ability.

The bloke is a unbelievable goalscorer but that is literally it. He wont score against United, City, Liverpool this season. Because he wont be able to bully Magure, Dias and VVD.

I don’t think your taking into account how good VVD is. He stopped Lukaku. Lukaku is not lazy and he has the best hold up play in the league. I can guarantee you he’ll do well against City and United

Read a bit closer. I expected VVD and Matip to dominate Lukaku. You'll be hard pressed to find a better pair to shut him down. He isn't lazy or one dimensional as you describe. I think premier league fans haven't caught on yet that he is world class

Totally ; and as a lone player in the opposition half for 45 minutes what could you expect him to do?

Great game by both sides but Liverpool can’t keep up with the spending of Chelsea, City and United.

Yes but is it even essential if Ronaldo becomes a premium forward to have?

Realistically only chelsea assets worth owning currently are Lukaku and James so not exactly wildcard essential (Shaw -> James, premium striker spot -> Lukaku)

Planning to do Ings + Cash > Jimenez + Digne for free in gw 4. Gives me -

            Sanchez
            TAA - Digne - White
            Salah - Bruno - Grealish - Greenwood - Benrahma
            Antonio - Jimenez

            Foster - Tsimikas - Livramento - Scarlett

Would be ignoring Ronaldo if I do this. Will captain Salah vs Leeds.

If I take the Ronaldo route then I would be losing Bruno for Torres and take a hit for Cash > Digne.

I’d be worried about Benrahma with Europa League back. Other than that looks beautiful

Alonso not a massive rotation risk with chilly?
Duffy due to be benched shortly
              Torres big upside but pep…

Can easily do Alonso to coufal and Duffy to 4.5 when necessary. Agreed on pep
