Cristiano Ronaldo’s FPL price and position revealed

Cristiano Ronaldo has finally been priced up by Fantasy Premier League (FPL) following the completion of his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United.

The 36-year-old striker has been listed as a forward in FPL and comes in at £12.5m, making him the joint-most expensive player in the game alongside Mohamed Salah.

Ronaldo is £1.0m pricier than Romelu Lukaku (£11.5m) and some £400k dearer than Bruno Fernandes (£12.1m), who many Fantasy managers are seemingly offloading in order to fund a move for his incoming compatriot.

The former Juve and Real Madrid man’s FPL price, as is the case with all new additions, will be locked for seven days upon his Tuesday lunchtime inclusion in the game.

Fernandes remains, for now, the most-owned player in the game despite the 100,000+ sales since the Gameweek 3 deadline.

Waiting a week for 2FT then possibly Bruno, DCL > Torres, Ronaldo.

    Logical or a sideways move?

Logical. With Bruno almost definitely losing penalties, and CR7 likely to be the focal point of that attack, I definitely don’t think the swap would be a sideways move.

Thanks. I want to be sure that Torres starts first (seems that way) so happy to wait a GW to make the moves.

The issue with waiting for Torres is the longer you wait the less likely he’ll be with Foden/KDB on their way back to fitness.

Too early to ascertain. I've made a few drafts and one of it turns out to be decent too, remain with 352:
          Mahrez + Bruno + Toney -> Torres + Jota + Ronaldo

Bit I’m most unsure about really is the Jota pick. Other option is Torres and bank 0.5m. Especially because rotation for Torres wouldn’t be hugely damaging with having ESR on the bench.

Should be locked for 7 days so technically he should be able to rise before deadline (from next Wednesday) but if it's anything like Lukaku it'll be a while before they actually unlock him

He was about 12% owned when he was unlocked before the Arsenal game and he's over 21% now, definitely some WCs involved but no doubt he should have risen at least once by now

Tough one but I think id take a hit. Don't see any returns from White/Tsimi/Amartey except the odd 1 or 2 points. A clean sheet and you've sold your problem and broken even.

But, I think I'd rather have Mount than Jota in the long term.

Absolutely stuck in a 352 with triple Pool & United already.

DCL & Antonio upfront so I can't sell anyone for Ronaldo.

Can't get Jota without selling Tsmikas.

So WC or just do Bruno to CR7 for -4 and change formation to 343?

I’d take the -4. Bruno’s appeal will surely lower with CR7 pulling rank on penalties and likely a lot of free kicks, plus the main focal point of their entire attack.

It’s because unless wildcarding/taking lots of hits, or crippling the rest of your team, most people can only afford 2 premiums currently. And having them both from the same team seems a bit rash. Also limits captaincy options.

    CR7 in at £12.5m
But with everyone scrabbling to fit him in asap, what do we foresee he'll end the season on?

    In 2006/07 he rose a whopping £2.2m to go from £10m > £12.2m
And in 2008/09 he finished the season on a high of £14.2m

Do we think he still has what it takes to bring those kind of increases in?

No chance. I’ll get him, as well many, but as with Lukaku they’ll price lock him for a long time to give him a “starting point” then the net transfers in/out through the rest of the season will probably mean no more than about 0.5m variance I would imagine. Loads will just keep him all season long.

      1. Brimble82
        • 5 Years

True. Though I wonder if we're in a small 'echo chamber' and how many of the ~8m will get him in now.
You're probably right though. High ownership pre-price unlock will mean he remains flat.

Usually I’d agree, and it is an echo chamber. But CR7, and Manchester United, are both global behemoths - he’s probably actually more attractive to “casuals” than he is to those of us who trawl forums/Twitter for info to be honest. He’ll be signed in absolute droves before they remove the price lock on him.

Plus to be honest, the general player engagement seems to go up constantly each year any way. Hence the likes of Livramento getting a price rise at a time when he’d only got 3 points from 2 games.

Yeah, again - you're right and I agree.
The global brand power of CR7 will push him through, and yes - the volume of managers who are 'plugged in' or maybe more 'available to the spoon feeding on offer wherever you turn' is going up and up.

I'm sure he'll get goals. A lot of them.
And really that's what will matter!

less than he started I expect.
he wont move in the next few weeks that much, and then there will be a firesale in GW7 to fund Lukaku.

Controversial! Ending lower than now would be interesting.
        Time will tell.

No doubt there will be games when he is kept quiet,

But united are one of the only teams who can thrash teams by 5, 6 goals. Unlike City, You can select Ronny knowing he will play!

        Agree.
And his fitness is unrivalled - he's such a focused athlete. Age is almost irrelevant to him.

Surely Ronaldo gets a run out off the bench for his first game ? He would hardly have had much more than one proper training session by then 🙂

fitness won’t be an issue (except he is nearly 37) … he simply wouldn’t have trained with the team and won’t know the systems or plays

Going to be hard to stick to the WC GW7 plan with all the Ronaldo excitement…but here’s what I can get with my 2 FT.

    Sanchez
    TAA, Shaw, White (Duffy, Ayling)
    Bruno, Salah, G’wood, Benny, Traore
    DCL, Antonio (Scarlett)

    G2G?
