Cristiano Ronaldo’s FPL price and position revealed

Cristiano Ronaldo has finally been priced up by Fantasy Premier League (FPL) following the completion of his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United.

The 36-year-old striker has been listed as a forward in FPL and comes in at £12.5m, making him the joint-most expensive player in the game alongside Mohamed Salah.

Ronaldo is £1.0m pricier than Romelu Lukaku (£11.5m) and some £400k dearer than Bruno Fernandes (£12.1m), who many Fantasy managers are seemingly offloading in order to fund a move for his incoming compatriot.

The former Juve and Real Madrid man’s FPL price, as is the case with all new additions, will be locked for seven days upon his Tuesday lunchtime inclusion in the game.

Fernandes remains, for now, the most-owned player in the game despite the 100,000+ sales since the Gameweek 3 deadline.

    People are talking as if Ronaldo turns Bruno into a none entity. Are we not expecting the assists to be coming from him?

    I honestly think Ronaldo improves Bruno. Increased assist potential and someone to draw defenders to give Bruno space to score too. There’s also a good chance Bruno keeps some or all of the set pieces as he has the better recent record.

      Agreed. Ronaldo may be the better option but Bruno will be fine. If I could swap them for free I would but in my case it requires a hit which I just don't think is worth it. Also hasn't really been mentioned that Bruno is nailed on to start every game. At 37 years old Ronaldo will be rested here and there.

            I don't think the Euros was a good measure. Bruno was dead by that point, he was off-colour for United for about 2 months prior to that.

              Cheers. I will get Salah and DCL in GW5, so just Leeds away that I don't have Salah for. I will have Lukaku (VIL) and Greenwood (NEW) in GW4 who should score much higher.

          Think he's 0.3 to 0.5m over priced tbh.

          He scored 29 with 2 assists last year which would give him (assuming a 40 BPS haul) 116+6+60 playing = 222
          Kane scored 22 with 14 assists and scored a total of 242 points
          Salah has a higher ceiling due to midfielder cleansheets and an extra point for goals. He scored 231 points but only got 10 cleansheets last year.

          Kane has more scope for goal involvements and Salah has a higher ceiling.

          Lukaku more of a comparison and they've priced him at 11.5.

          Think they've looked at his previous FPL performances but he was a midfielder then.

          Will I avoid him, no. Even if he's not scoring that well, it's going to be a hard watch every time he scores as you'll have to find that 200+ points from somewhere else.

          Maybe the Lateriser approach of jumping on/off will be worth doing. Next games are Newcastle (H), WHU (A), Villa (H), Everton (H), Leicester (A). Then it's Liverpool, Spurs and Man city.

          He's definitely a flat track bully so probably worth keeping for the next 5 and then jumping off.

            Exactly my thoughts. Also, series a not as difficult as the prem. But will buy him for the next 5 then intention is to swap to lukaku. I am getting him this week with no need for a wildcard so will be able to use that as well of everything hoes up the wall

            Needs everyone to bring him in during the IB otherwise his price is going to soar and make the in/out swapping more difficult.

            Agree with the other points and it’s a reason I’m not fussed about premium forwards otherwise.

                Ronaldo is a poor asset my brother. If you are happy just plodding along in that top 50% go for him but if you want to be with the elite players in the top 10% and actually want to win this game we play, go without, and find a differential.

                I understand the thrill of Ronaldo going back to United. I acknowledge he is a fitness freak, I understand he comes to win, has a huge ego (although I always found he's never been a selfish player on the pitch - less than Salah for example imo) and the arguable romantism of his return to ManU but making him an immediate (C) against NEW might be driven by over-excitement.

                Although he will surely be a must-have soon, I actually don't think he is an absolute sure starter against NEW.

                It's not about fitness or how he will blend into the team, because it will be easy for him but I think it rather has to do with management and marketing.
                Clubs, TV loves an happening. Ronaldo entering the field in a packed old-trafford cheering him up during the second-half (even better if manU is drawing at this moment) seems like a very plausible scenario to me.

                Also, it is always important for coaches to "protect" the legitimity of his group so as his hierarchical status and it is very often we see new signing only entering the field during the second half. It gives the positive message to the group that no-one is above the coach.

                Mind that Messi was only introduced during the second half of his first game for PSG although having trained for 2.5 weeks with the group.
