Which Premier League teams had the best and worst transfer windows?

Transfer deadline day saw a busy summer of market activity draw to a close.

Many of the key new arrivals from a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) perspective have already been profiled in our Scout Report and Moving Target series.

And over on our YouTube channel, Az and Sam have been taking a comprehensive look at all of the incomings and outgoings in the English top flight.

They present a club-by-club review in the video below, assessing each team’s dealings and grading them accordingly.

4.5 defender will have absolutely no chance against TAA. DCL won't be too far from Lukaku

      Therefore A

    Thoughts?

A do nothing (will be priced out if I choose this option)
B Bruno & Ings > Ronaldo & Jota/Torres -8. Have exact cash if going Jota!

    Sanchez
    Trent, Shaw, Dier
    Bruno, Salah, Benny, Greenwood
    Ings, Antonio, Bamford

    Steele, Gilmour, Amartey, Williams.

    .1

Ronaldo and Jota are great moves. Bear in mind you'll have Jota and Greenwood and may need to remove one for a more certain starter after GW4.

    (re-post old article)

I'm thinking there's a case for waiting with WC until GW5, Sanchez has a good fixture GW4, and don't have to play planned Leeds players against Liverpool. Can also wait with offloading Coufal and possibly Benrahma until after playing Southampton. Would mean taking a -4 this GW to get Ronaldo in, though. And I'm risking a couple of price drops on Lamptey and Omobamidele, which might sway my decision

    1. Twisted Saltergater
      • 14 Years
      2 years, 7 months ago

Probably the sensible move. Personally, I'm hitting the wildcard as I fancy Jota in the short term and need to lose Tsimikas.

Lukaku has had 750k net transfers in and is currently in 21.5% of teams, but price is still 11.5 even after 2GWs.

Ronnie is in 11.9% of teams. Makes me think that the price is protected for longer for new FPL players

He's been at over 100 on a number of days after he was unlocked but never rose. Someone posted something here a few days ago about how if there's an international break when a player is registered they'll be locked until the IB is over as opposed to the 7/8 days that is normally the case

It’s 8 days of protection and then they move slowly afterwards for a while. Plus a few days ago Lukaku was dropping very quickly.

    Salah Jota Raphinha (Benrahma/Traore) Sissoko

    Good: Man Utd, West Ham

Alonso is the only pick I dont like there tbh I think Chilwell will be back in soon.

There are 3 good premium strikers this season in Ron, Rom, Kane, I like having a spot in the team for one and swapping round for captaincy/fixtures.

I didn’t like doing it, but there is such great value that it allows me to have 3 big hitters.

If it doesn’t work out, it’s just a couple of transfers to put right.

I'm in the same boat. Depending on Firmino situation I might even be able to squeeze in VVD myself which makes me feel less bad about going without TAA as it won't be too difficult to get him back in if it's necessary. I've historically not gone with enough premiums now I'm going with too many it seems!

As I keep saying, there is so much value in every position, that it allows for a 3 big hitter team.

Worst case scenario for me is I have to take a -4 and mini wildcard with a couple of free transfers.

Not that I plan to do so though 😉

It's almost viable. Better than I came up with while trying to squeeze in all three.

What's Antonio done to upset you? 🙂

        I haven’t owned him yet. 😆

I know as soon as I do though, he’ll break.

the peiod after a bandwagon has hauled when the fixtures turn south, can be the best time to make up ground on the next bandwagon. I admire your stubbornness. Good luck!

    WC draft

    Sa

    TAA - Shaw - Reguilon

    Salah - Jota - Torres - Sarr

    Ronaldo - Jimenez - Antonio

    (Begovic - Allan - Liv - Williams)

I'd rather Trent over 5 of your starting attackers.

Anyone taking a punt on sarr surely a good option if he’s now on pens and his returns from all round play aren’t bad either for someone priced at 6 or who else at this price point are people going for ?

The Leeds Greenwood risks your ability to get a triple up later on if their form turns

Christensen at 5 looks such good value. Won't play every week, but he looks first choice and I wouldn't expect cameos.

Two of Rudiger, Christensen and James plus space for Lukaku I think

one of the first names on my WC, after James, Alonso, Rudiger, Mendy. I jest. Such a good pick; flying under the radar like no-one's business.

Agree prefer to have James but a double up on Chelsea defence would be a great shout especially christensen priced at 5.0 for clean sheet returns

And the best thing is I’ve got another 3 games to see how they do and if they’re nailed.

Brought in DCL last GW. Now, contemplating the following moves. Yes or no?

    - DCL to Lukaku (FT)
    - TAA to Dier (-4)

Potential moves for myself for this week have been streamlined down to 3. Now the next 7 days to slowly mull over it.

    A) Mane + Ings > Jota + Ronaldo (C)

    B) Ings > DCL (play Livramento when have Antonio and Benrahma)

    C) B + C.Taylor > White -4

    1. Athletic Nasherbo

      A is a -4

Jota, has the track record, fixtures and if Firminos confirmed out a good run of games too

Jota - because he only has competition from Firmino.

Meanwhile Torres has to fight off Foden, Sterling and possibly KdB as well in that false 9 position.
