Win £10,000 for free with Fantasy5 by picking the best players for Gameweek 4

Sponsored by Fantasy5

Gameweek 4 promises to be bedlam with yellow flags aplenty, quarantining players, late returnees and possible FIFA bans – but you could still be £10,000 richer come Sunday night!

Best of all, it won’t cost you a penny to be in with a chance of landing the huge cash windfall.

We’re talking about the free-to-play weekly Fantasy5 game, where there are various other prizes on offer beyond the whopping jackpot.

You can even set up a mini-league and compete with colleagues, friends and family.

It’s as simple as this: pick five players from the nominated Gameweek 4 matches below and, if they all exceed their ‘points targets’ (a par score set by Fantasy5 for each asset), you’ll be in the money.

We’ve selected our own picks for Gameweek 4, which can you can read below.

Guess who is top among all Manchester City assets for shots in the box this season? Not Ferran Torres, not Gabriel Jesus, not Jack Grealish… but one Aymeric Laporte. As with most defenders in Fantasy5, he’ll need an attacking return to surpass his points target. But with seven attempts on goal in just two appearances, he’s got as good a chance as any stopper of achieving that. Leicester’s vulnerability at dead-ball situations, plus some ongoing uncertainty about centre-half availability for the Foxes, further solidifies our pick.

FPL managers may be umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether to deconstruct their teams to fit Cristiano Ronaldo in but there’s no such long-term worry with picking the veteran Portuguese as a one-week punt in Fantasy5. Two goals (barring any bookings) will see him over his points target; given that Newcastle United have conceded more big chances than any other team bar Arsenal, he’ll surely have plenty of opportunities at Old Trafford – starting or otherwise.

Two attacking returns (even a brace of assists) will see FPL’s top points-scorer, Michail Antonio, over his target this weekend. He’s done that on three occasions already and given West Ham’s recent record against Southampton (they are unbeaten in seven), plus Saints’ defensive woes (two clean sheets in 25 games), there’s every reason to back him again.

Aston Villa will be without Emiliano Martinez this weekend, so two goals for Romelu Lukaku – providing he can shrug off a minor thigh issue – should, in theory, be a mite easier to achieve for the Belgian. Eight shots for Lukaku against Arsenal in Gameweek 2 was an ominous sign of things to come.

With Roberto Firmino’s availability uncertain on Sunday, Diogo Jota could be thrust straight back into the Liverpool starting XI. With two goals in as many starts this season, and with underlying ‘per 90’ stats almost as good as or even better than Mohamed Salah’s, the Portugal international may find joy against a Leeds backline that has allowed the joint-highest number of chances to be created from central positions than any other team.

HOW DOES FANTASY5 WORK?

Image

Fantasy5 is easy to play as it follows the exact same scoring system as FPL, just without the bonus points.

It’s also the fastest media outlet for live Fantasy points, displaying all player points from the five games in question, as well as the live score and time.

For the more detailed lowdown, head here.

The competition is limited to one entry per person per round and selections must be submitted before kick-off of the first eligible match.

If two or more entrants correctly select five players who all score more than their points target, then the prize pot is split among all winners.

Against the grain but I would do A and then move Shaw on in GW7 (by that point you know what's going on with all the mid range midfielders)

I am planning Ings to Ronaldo and Bruno to one of following- thinking Jota over next 3 better option if Firmino out but is it worth a hit as would need to move Tsimikas

It's a doddle right now as no premium mids other than Salah are forcing hands, plentiful mid/budget mids and strikers. Trickier with TAA of course but as virtually nobody will ever captain him his necessity is always overstated. He's just a good option

Probably never been a better time to bang out a triple premium and then move away from the worst as mids emerge

I agree with you completly. Lukaku, Ron and Salah are great options. I could argue that having them and double Chelsea defence with one of Cancelo/Dias can quite comfortably cover the absence of TAA and 7.5 midfield option. Cheers.

I've seen loads and none are satisfactory to me. Most fall into the trap of supplementing with midfielders who will be highly liable to being dropped/rotated/ subbed.

I've modelled many many drafts of where I want to be. I've found it impossible to have all 3, particularly if you value Trent.
One reasonable path involves Upside Chasing/hokey-cokey with Ronaldo and Lukaku, but I've found everything falls into place if you sacrifice one of them, and I'm veering towards Salah. A highly unpopular suggestion I know, but if Jota keeps a first-team spot, I think I can run with a very strong squad, using transfers to catch mids and defenders with good fixtures and decent form.

            Ronaldo or Lukaku obviously!

Andy I agree with you in the main. But don't fall into the coverage trap eith Jota / Salah. You're probably going to need to double up with one of the big hitter teams attacks and for that I think Liverpool would be the best bet. If nailed, as you say, Jota would be starting up front and we know Salah can maintain his huge output from the wing. For the other teams the double up would be a midfielder with the big hitting striker, which in my opinion will not be as strong.

Right, captaincy flim-flam between those two.

I'm looking at Liverpool: TAA, Matip, Jota
              Chelsea: Lukaku, Mount and James
United: just Ronaldo as he'll hoover up everyone else's points
City: none (Peptation, but defenders stand in for James in the CWC GWs)

I've mapped it out, no hits needed once I'm there (GW7). There's no looking at it any other way though, no Salah will bite, and bite bad. But unless/until one of Ron-Rom breaks a leg or something, I gotta proceed without Salah.

Have you seen Salah's FPL tally over last 4 season!!
                It is over 1,000 points!!
He has scored 30 already this season
He is king of FPL at the moment, to not consider is to err.

Interesting. My question is do you think Lukaku/Ron will outscore DCL/Antonio by more than Salah will outscore another Mid?

Feel like there's some real value up front.

I can manage this squad (if Torres rises in price) :
          Sa (Gunn)
Christensen - Rüdiger - Cancelo (Williams, Livra)
Salah - Sarr - Traore - Raph (Mendy)
          Lukaku- Ronaldo - Antonio

Seems good enough, but I'm still unsure if I should go that way. Any suggestions?

That's my front 3, but the way I see it, after Salah you've got a weak midfield and a dodgy defence. Without Salah, I can put out a strong back 4 and 3 scoring-midfielders.

“Destroying the rest of it” kind of boils down to:

      A. 30m on one big hitter (CR7/Kaku) and 3x cheap attackers (Sarr, Traore, Armstrong, Soucek, ESR, Gray, Trincao, Dennis etc)

      B. 30m on 4x mid price attackers (Greenwood, Jota, Torres, Antonio, Bamford, Jimmy, Wilson, DCL etc)

Because in both scenarios the vast majority of teams will have the other 70m-ish spent on:
      - 2 big hitters (Salah, Bruno, CR7, Kaku etc)
      - TAA, Shaw, 3x cheap defenders
      - Raphinha or Benrahma
      - 9-10m on GKs and 4.5m on a benched attacker

So for the most part it’s 3 slots of the team that are “negatively” impacted - not quite “destroyed”, but certainly lighter

Quite nice take on the problem.
If I'd opt for Lukaku, that means I'd have to leave TAA out. Double Chlesea defence and on from City can surely cove him?

The closest I came involves playing a 4.0 DF every week (which may be an option if Duffy nailed):

      Sanchez (4.0)
Trent - Shaw - Duffy (Livramento, Williams)
Salah - Raphinha - Benrahma - Gray (Allan)
      Ronaldo - Lukaku - Antonio

      1. DIMITRIS
        • 5 Years
        2 years, 7 months ago

If you leave Trent out you can play with this bunch:
        Sa (Gunn)
Cancelo - Rüdiger - Christensen (Livra, Williams)
Salah - Sarr - Raph - Traore (Sissoko)
        Lukaku - Ronaldo - Antonio

        What do you think?

Right lads, I've listened, and I'm persuaded. I'll keep Salah and start without Ronaldo, bringing him in GW14. I've calculated that later on I can have all 4, but I'll need to build up value first. Cheers!

Still undecided whether to WC or not.

    Sanchez Steele
    TAA Tsimikis Shaw White Coufal
    Salah Bruno Benrahma Raphinha Barnes
    Antonio Ings Obafemi

Bruno & Ings --> Ronaldo (C) & Greenwood or Torres makes sense but I still have bench issues and Barnes stinking up my team. Add in the Raphinha issue and it's making me think a WC is the move to address all the above. Also removing Tsimikis allows Jota to come in.

    Any advice or thoughts?

Not the next transfers for me, could easily backfire. Shaw is a great option thus week and Benrama has fixture and form too

Cheer mate for the reply, yeah think all the WC buzz and quarantine stuff is getting me overthinking.
Current plan is to do Benrahma to Raph next and then save 2 ft to do Greenwood+Shaw for Mount+James for GW7
        anything different you can suggest?

    a) (Duffy/Williams) + Sarr/Traore/Harrison

    b) Shaw/Laporte/Reguillon/Reece + (Allan)

Which slot will I get more joy from. A mid price defender or cheap mid?

    Many thanks

A - Goals & assists plus bonus points in the long run as clean sheets hard to predict with certainty at this early stage of the season.

Traore rather than Sarr (will stay in your team longer & thus enable more transfers elsewhere when needed or at least save you future points hits if you are wildcarding so early)..

On wc, surely ben white is a snip at 4.4 with those fixtures

A few players back, I mean it can’t get any worse for arsenal , can it ?

I would go for him. But only as a bench player. If a regular starter you have to find a way of getting Tierney in surely

Seems a risky time to do it when the big hitter all have good fixtures and Antonio is going to blank sooner rather than later, its just the law of averages

So is it his price tag? Not sure how you define a big hitter.

        And yes, anyone can blank.

I have to trust in Salah, could be 5-8 goals in NEW v LIV.
Salah is going to have a say in at leats 2 of those.
Southampton draw 1-1 with United, who are stronger going forward so the saints/hammers game could be a tight affair....

Wham - lee BRE eve SPU
Leeds - WHU WAT sou WOL

Leeds better fixtures IMO and Raphinha would play New when Ben plays Man U

Any comments/changes on this WC? Have 0.3m in the bank which isn't quite enough to do Traore > Raph but still tinkering.

    Sa
    Trent - Chrisitnesen - White
    Salah - Jota - Torres - Traore
    DCL - Antonio - CR7(c)

Bench: Steele - Sissoko - Williams - Livramento

I'd leave as is then consider Torres to Raph instead.
Traores fixtures look decent, so maybe worth giving him a chance for a couple of them?

Many more choices in 4.5 - 4.6 option that will score with saves and bonuses, otherwise, that is points scoring team you have there!

Keep changing my mind around Greenwood, Torres, Mount, Sarr, Jota(-4)
Atm now its Greenwood nr. 1. What are your thoughts as its getting closer?
Was on Torres most of the break, but he played 3 times for Spain and Foden KDB getting closer. Jesus out might help him though.
