Alexander-Arnold, Salah and Jota start as Liverpool visit Leeds in Gameweek 4

Gameweek 4 continues with Leeds United hosting Liverpool at Elland Road.

Kick-off is at 16:30 BST.

For Leeds, new signing Daniel James (£6.0m) is on the bench, but Raphinha (£6.5m) starts after his ban for not being released to the Brazil squad was lifted.

Stuart Dallas (£5.5m) also features despite withdrawing from international duty, while Junior Firpo (£4.8m) has recovered from COVID-19 and replaces Pascal Struijk (£4.4m) in the starting XI.

As expected, Liverpool are without the injured Roberto Firmino (£8.8m) but Virgil van Dijk (£6.5m) and Harvey Elliot (£5.5m) are fit.

Diogo Jota (£7.7m) starts in attack, while Thiago (£5.4m) replaces Jordan Henderson (£5.0m), who drops to the bench.

      Shouldn't the point be that dangerous career threatening challenges result in a red card to discourage these? It was genuinely a dangerous challenge so how can it now warrant a red?

        what are you categorizing as a dangerous tackle? Because that wasn't one, he wasn't off his feet and took the ball cleanly. Just looks like Struijk fell onto Elliot's leg which was trapped at a bad angle = snap. It's horrible to happen, but you can't start handing out reds, players will just stop slide tackling altogether at that point.

    I actually feel sick seeing that in real time. Glad they’re not showing replay.

          I saw it over again now. He lunges in and stops the ball and Elliot stops in Struijk's legs as well. I guess VAR had a good look, but I think they would have given a yellow if Elliots leg didn't dislocate or whatever happened.

        there's no chance he'll recover at all at this early stage of his career.
        Players at his age simply just don't come back from horror injuries.

            Yeah you would think so but it's totally important to get as much game time as possible at this early pro stage.
            Many promising young players never reach their peak because of such injuries.

        Eh? I don't think it was a red card at all.
        He got the ball and the referee didn't even give the freekick originally.

        Just an awful bit of bad luck that he came out of it the way he did.
