Son returns as Mendy absent and James benched for Chelsea

In the final match of Gameweek 5, Tottenham Hotspur entertain Chelsea.

Kick-off is at 16:30 BST.

The big news for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers is that Son Heung-min (£10.0m) returns from injury and starts for Spurs, as does team-mate Eric Dier (£4.6m).

Cristian Romero (£4.9m) and Giovani Lo Celso (£5.9m) also feature in the XI having returned from quarantine, while the injuries sustained by Lucas Moura (£6.5m) and Steven Bergwijn (£6.0m) in the Europa Conference League keep them out.

Japhet Tanganga (£4.6m) is suspended after his red card in Gameweek 4.

As for Chelsea, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.9m) suprisingly starts with Edouard Mendy (£6.0m) absent from the squad.

Andreas Christensen (£5.0m) also gets the nod, which means Cesar Azpilicueta (£6.0m) will be deployed as a wing-back with Reece James (£5.6m) on the bench.

N’Golo Kante (£4.9m) returns from injury but Jorginho (£5.9m) and Mateo Kovacic (£5.1m) are preferred in central midfield, with Kai Havertz (£8.3m) and Mason Mount (£7.4m) supporting Romelu Lukaku (£11.6m)

Performance like this from Alonso firmly keeps Chilling well on the bench!

    Which option?

    A) James > Rudiger
    B) Jota & Marcal > Benrahma/Sarr/Gallagher & Rudiger

Offered a trade for Son in exchange for Antonio in the FPL Draft game. Would you sell high on Antonio for Sonny boy?

Could've easily started the season with Rudiger. Imagine avoiding a 5.5 Chelsea defender due to "fixtures" 🙄

Started the season with him then sold him on wc. He doesnt get many attacking retunrs and he is too expensive for just chelan sheets. Would rather have alonso

Except he's not. Chelsea easily keep 15+ clean sheets this season. 4 out of 5 already. How is that expensive at 5.5? Alonso a no-brainer if Chilwell wasn't a threat

Well they play Villa midweek in the EFL cup
Not impossible that Alonso plays that one and Chilwell plays vs. City (or vice versa)

Paying 5.7 plus another playing defender. Dunno if it is worth it.

Ah what shall I learn? That removing Benrahma who suddenly has competition, was hooked at 60 last game while being objectively bad and plays against a good team with Antonio out would result in him getting a goal from a massive deflection with 0.06xG from 3 terrible shots? Yeah, I guess I won't learn.

There is. Rudiger is locked. Christensen and Azpi get 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4 even. Alonso atm is a lock with whatever is going on with Chilwell

You can get 33/1 on Nuno Espirito Santo being the next manager to get the sack.

I might have a piece of that.

Greenwood has played his last game for me. The points he has scored have been fortunate and he has looked ineffective since Ronaldo came. Lingard has also added another threat to his place in the team.

I think people make a bit much out of players being ‘nailed’ sometimes

I mean people shipping benrahama because some competition has come into the squad, the bloke has been their 2nd best player and hauled regularly, not a chance Moyes drops him
