Robertson and Alexander-Arnold return to Liverpool XI as Jota starts again

Liverpool’s trip to Brentford is the seventh and final Premier League match of the day.

Kick-off is at 17:30 BST.

After a blank for Cristiano Ronaldo earlier in the day, captainers of Mohamed Salah have a chance to steal a march on those Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers who decided against handing the armband to the Egyptian.

Above: Gameweek 6 captaincy and effective ownership stats among the top 10,000 FPL managers

Jurgen Klopp has made four changes to the Liverpool team that beat Crystal Palace 3-0 at Anfield last weekend.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip and Andrew Robertson all return in defence, with Curtis Jones replacing the injured Thiago Alcantara in midfield.

James Milner, Ibrahima Konate and Kostas Tsimikas make way.

Diogo Jota again leads the line, with Salah and Sadio Mane either side of the Portugal international, but Roberto Firmino is back among the substitutes after a month on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank makes just the one change to the Bees side that won 2-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers last Saturday.

Frank Onyeka replaces Shandon Baptiste, who drops to the bench.

Ten Brentford players are ever-present starters in the Premier League this season.

GAMEWEEK 6 LINE-UPS

Brentford XI: Raja, Ajer, Jansson, Pinnock, Canos, Onyeka, Norgaard, Janelt, Henry, Mbeumo, Toney.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Jones, Salah, Jota, Mane.

    Gray + Locadia => Sissoko + Antonio worth -4?

    Gives me:

    Sanchez
    TAA • Semedo • White
    Salah • Raphinha • Sarr • Gallagher
    Ronaldo • Lukaku • Antonio

Never been able to recover from a bad start before in my fpl career

Thoughts on a -8 to -12 to correct a team after a wildcard has been wasted? Could be season over if it doesn't pan out but have a poor team and will only fall further behind anyway

If you think 12 points will right the ship then it’s worth it over a season in my opinion.
But set it up for a few weeks, get back 2-4 points a game week and by week 10 you’re all good.

If it’s really necessary & urgent then -8 imo. -12 is too much

Can't see why not if you look at each hit in isolation instead of looking at it as a -12

Layering hits on top of a recent wildcard is going to be a bad idea in 90% of situations tbh

Stick with the guys you wildcarded in for 4-5 gameweeks then see how things are

You can pick up 100 points in the space of 14 days around Christmas easy with the amount of games there'll be

Assuming you put through into your wildcard team then after a -8 you may want to revert back to that same team. Things change fast

I put precisely no stock in a good start. Persistence and not doing anything silly will see you rise up the ranks. There’s another 33 GWs to go including DGW season etc.

Think in GW9 last year I was about 2.5m and I finished in the top 30k in the end.

What are people’s thoughts on WC gw 6 v 7?

Sure you get the international break, but going early allows you to move likes of Jota, Greenwood maybe even TAA (for a few weeks).

      Get Chelsea v saints.

Though you are stuck with any city assets v Liverpool (thinking Cancelo and Jesus or Grealish).

      Bottomed.

I’ve been on a steady decline since gw1.
Not decisive going after upside and playing too safe I think.

Still have WC and think that be what I need to do to get back in the groove. Or maybe a hit to really attack something.

      Sanchez, Foster
      TAA, Shaw, Semedo, Duffy, Livramento
      Salah, Greenwood, Jota, Benrahma, Gilmour
      Ronaldo, Antonio, Jimenez

Not sure you need to Wildcard that. Upside chasing now would be attacking city assets as they are still relatively low owned. Double up on their defence and Kdb maybe?

If you ask in terms of "need" to WC, everyone will say you don't need to.

If you want to play it soon to make major changes to your team, then just do it -- you don't need anyone's permission. Personally I want to spend more on defence so I am certainly going to go ahead and WC in GW8.

Yeah it’s not a case of need for me for sure.
Just a few weeks of bleeding rank and it sure minor changes will get me back in the right direction.

A Wolves win with a clean sheet tomorrow would change my mood.

        Horrific

I'm convinced he lost the game for utd when he didn't put Bruno in for a tap-in early doors when they were murdering Villa - that type of thing has came back to haunt a team temporarily dominating a match so many times in the past

He was so selfish all game, really needs to be pulled aside & told that's not acceptable

      Ramsdale (Foster)
      Robertson, Dias, Rüdiger (Duffy, Livramento)
      Salah, Raphinha, Benrahma, Sarr (Gallagher)
      Lukaku, Antonio, Bamford

      (Current team as follows:
      Meslier / 4.0)
      TAA / Shaw / Livramento / Marçal / Omobamidele)
      Salah / Jota / Torres / Raphinha / Benrahma

I can’t really be mad with Pep or Torres because I bought him in knowing full well that he’s going to be rested when I least expect it.

Hoping to leave wildcard to game week 8 as Pool playing City next week, plus international break. Have Digne and Coufal about to drop perhaps, so wondering if should do a week earlier. Have already lost 0.1 on Digne, so am I right in thinking that if he loses another 0.1 tonight I won't lose any more value? Have only one free transfer so could swap Couf for Rudi, say, and retain his value, but might risk him not dropping in case FT needed elsewhere. Any thoughts on this please?

No you take 100% of the losses. Every time a player goes down from the price you purchased him at, you incurr that loss in value.

Only if he's already gone up in value prior to dropping would you not incurr the full loss.

Is it worth a -4 to get rid of Bamford and Jota?

Depends. Bamford could be back. Personally I'm not in a rush to bin Jota.

To fund Lukaku to Captain over the next 4 weeks I'd say yes.

Bamford "may" not be fit next week, Firmino back is likely to take game time away from Jota.

1 point between TAA, Bruno and Shaw lol, horrendous!
But other 5 players returned so have 48 with 3 to play, pretty happy with that.

      Got Bamford, Raphina and Meslier.

Figuring that Raphina is the only one worth keeping from here onwards.

Nothing wrong with Bamford if he's fit. Meslier needs to go.

          He sure does.

Thankfully Foster is starting at the moment. Reached the point this week that I had enough and moved Meslier to my bench on Friday night.

Was looking at potential non Chelsea defender GW7 but struggling - any ideas? Maybe creswell or just stick with Chelsea and hope for the best ?!

Cancelo and Dias are probably the best defensive options at the moment.

Thoughts on Jota and Jimenez to Son and Dennis -4?

Jimenez scores tomorrow and you’re keeping. Wouldn’t waste your energy on thinking yet.
