Xhaka and Moura recalled as Ramsdale starts again

In the final Premier League match of the day, there’s a small matter of a north London derby at the Emirates as Arsenal take on Tottenham Hotspur.

The Gunners, who are unbeaten in their past 10 Premier League home games against Spurs, make one change as Granit Xhaka (£4.9m) returns to the starting XI after a three-game ban, with Nicolas Pepe (£7.2m) dropping out.

That means a third consecutive start for Aaron Ramsdale (£4.5m) in goal.

At Tottenham, Japhet Tanganga (£4.6m) and Davinson Sanchez (£4.5m) replace Emerson Royal (£5.0m) and Cristian Romero (£4.9m) at the back, while Lucas Moura (£6.4m) comes in for Giovani Lo Celso (£5.9m) further forward.

Steven Bergwijn (£6.0m) and Ryan Sessegnon (£4.4m) both miss out through injury.

GAMEWEEK 6 LINE-UPS

Arsenal XI: Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney, Partey, Xhaka, Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe, Aubameyang

Spurs XI: Lloris, Tanganga, Sanchez, Dier, Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Alli, Moura, Son, Kane

I dunno, I still prefer my defenders to get a CS when they’re on my bench, makes them a better asset. More than a 6-pointer is hard to take though!

Pathetic and desperate dive from Kane.

Wouldn't call it a dive. The defender hit his foot instead of the ball

And that caused him to flop head first on the grass?

It is not about how he fell. It's whether he fell with no contact (dove) or fell because of contact

Leno currently running down his contract and can't play out from the back. Arteta has moved on from him.

True, but that does suggest Arsenal have a depth problem. Many 2nd teamers were awful when they had a chance.

Why Saka and not ESR? Nothing much to suggest either is better than the other. And which City mid? Feels a nightmare to get that right.

Exactly. I’m really considering WC. Confident in the structure (343, Trent, Chelsea and City defender, Salah, Lukaku as 2 premiums). Problem is so many 50/50 decisions like the 3rd striker spot, GK, City mid

Saka looks more explosive on current evidence, and may be more clinical. This is anecdotal i know, but just what I'm seeing. ESR is growing in stature every week though for sure.

Surely if Ramsdale is a great 4.5 keeper then White is basically the best < 4.5 defender, probably the best option if wanting to actually spend 4.5 also.

£6m to spend on a mid to compliment Salah / Benny / Saar.

Was planning to choose from the Everton trio but with those fixtures now tempted by ESR. Can't quite stretch to Saka.

Anyone watching the game? ESR looking good, or find the extra 0.2 for Saka?
