Exclusive free FanTeam event for Fantasy Football Scout users in Gameweek 8

Sponsored by FanTeam

FanTeam are teaming up with Fantasy Football Scout to launch an exclusive free event for readers of this site in Gameweek 8.

The FFS Monster tournament takes place this weekend, with the deadline at 15:00 BST on Saturday, and there is £500-worth of cash prizes on offer:

RankPrize
1st£100
2nd£75
3rd£60
4th£50
5th£40
6th£35
7th£30
8th£25
9th£20
10th£15
11th-15th£10

This is a tournament that essentially gives Fantasy managers the chance to build a ‘Free Hit’ squad for nine specified upcoming Gameweek 8 matches:

HOW TO ENTER

HOW TO PLAY: A BRIEF GUIDE

Slightly different from the usual squad-based games, FanTeam managers are given a budget of £105m to build a team of 11 players that includes at least one goalkeeper, three defenders, two midfielders and one forward.

If a player in your team isn’t in the starting XI for their side, the ‘Safety Net’ feature will automatically be enabled – replacing that player with the next priced player from the same position and club.

Captains score double, as normal.

A full list of rules is found in the image below:

HOW DOES THE SCORING WORK?

FPL managers looking for a way to make their knowledge pay will have no trouble picking up this event, with its familiar scoring system.

Think of it as FPL without the bonus points, with a few other exceptions such as win/lose points and rewards for shots on target – these are detailed in the graphic below:

AZ AND JOSH’S GW8 PICKS

The winner of last season’s €200k prize, Josh Wooldridge, joins Az to discuss his weekly picks in the video below:

GAMEWEEK 8 WEEKLY MONSTER

For those Fantasy managers looking for an even bigger prize pool, FanTeam have £42k Weekly Monster event running simultaneously in Gameweek 8.

The rules and scoring system are the same as above, with entries costing £10.08.

    Defense is
    TAA Rudiger White Shaw Livramento

Would you do Rudiger Shaw to Cancelo Christensen -4?

    Can't get Cancelo with 1ft

-4 on def is almost never worth it. Just get Cancelo.

I have roughly the same dilemma. I'm choosing to play Shaw and forget Cancelo for this week. Then I'll bring Cancelo in for free as part of 2 FTs next week.

Asking for a friend. Is it crazy to take -8 to get Dias + Cancelo. Rudi has to go (no bench)

Why not just replace a bench player/other member of your squad.

Rudiger has Norwich and other good fixtures next.

Leicester defence in tatters. Selling Ronaldo this week as part of a -8 could be a big error. Get rid of Traore and play White ahead of Coady maybe.

ESR literally couldn't have done any more to audition for my team this past fortnight. Scored and got MotM for the U21s. Whole article from Arsenal about his hunger for goals and success.

It's making it tough to ditch. I also have 0.1m banked on him not that it should matter that much for my final decision.

I actually don't know if that's true... I don't think Mbeumo is as nailed as people make out. Wissa has been very good and was signed just this summer.

Mbeumo's more explosive for sure, but with worse fixtures over the short term? Weird one.

    6. ArseneAllTheWay

Mbeumo, my thing with ESR is not personal to him, but arsenal don’t create enough big chance/ aren’t clinical

I prefer Toney to Mbeumo long term especially against Weaker sides. On pens and is a classier player .

So I would go ESR as he has good fixtures too

    Current defence:
    Cancelo - White - Rudiger* - Tsimikas* - Williams*

Need to make a change in order to field three this week. Which transfer is better in the medium term?
    A) Rudiger > Dias - City double-up
    B) Williams > Duffy - Hope that Rudiger comes back for GW9

      Tsim > Duffy

Did consider but I do feel like with Williams no longer even a starter Tsimikas is more likely to come in with the odd clean sheet, even as second-choice

The chance you'll need a Liverpool slot is higher than your 3rd sub coming on and you'll miss all the random Tsim cameos because he'll be rotting anyway.

Depends on rest of depth/set up

Tuchel almost never plays 4 at the back, he only makes variations with 352 or 343, something like Conte. I can see James and Azpi start both, regardless if Rudi is injured or not

    Sánchez (Foster)
    Trent, Cancelo, Azpilicueta (Veltman, Livramento)
    Salah, Mount, Raphinha, Doucoure (Brownhill)

    Thoughts on:
    McCarthy (Steer)
    Cancelo / James / Duffy / Livramento / (Pinnock)
Salah / KDB / Foden / Townsend (Mbeumo)

I’m sitting about 190k so solid but unspectacular start.

I’m happy with Brentford assets to confirm in for next 5 and feel very strongly about KDB.

Foden I’m a bit meh on, I think some good stuff has been written on here about him being benched in favour of champions league.

So probably get Dias in and Arsenal midfield. But I just keep seeing 5-0 city tomorrow…

I'd fancy a cheeky punt on Mahrez(c) if I could

Same. I've got the money for Jota -> Mahrez. Was going to hold Jota for watford. Jota could do well though, or not play

Benching attackers always go wrong for me so I would pick C

I'd go C. Couldn't bench a fairly in form mid for a defender.
