The deadline for Gameweek 8 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is almost upon us – and we’ve got everything you need to help you with your transfers and captaincy decisions on this page.

All of these pieces preceded the Friday-night announcement from Spurs that two of their players had tested positive for Covid-19, with The Times suggesting that Son Heung-min (£10.1m) wouldn’t be involved in the Lilywhites’ clash with Newcastle on Sunday. We should stress, of course, that this remains only media and internet speculation and we’ve yet to have any concrete proof on the FPL assets affected.

    Most people seem to be fairly sure that Foden starts because Jesus and Torres are both out and he is one of the best players at Man City. However, City have a must-win Champions League game only 3 days after the Burnley game. Foden played 90 minutes twice for England in the international break, so it's plausible that he is rested against a weak Burnley team with that Champions League game in mind.

    I also read that last season he started 12 out of 13 Champions League games, whilst only starting 17 out of 38 Premier League games, so he has been preferred in the Champions League in the past. I'm not saying I can read Pep's mind, but this is just something to consider.

      I think its fair comment 3 games in 10 days too. If I do the Jota swap its to Jack I think. You need your guy to get 60 mins to likely get a min of 3 points than 1 imo

      About right . Last season Foden had some sensational performances and then didn’t get a start for the next 2 or 3 games . Plus v Burnley they can stick some of the back ups in . Champions League is more important than the Premier .

        Jota is a transfer out anyway because he will share minutes with Firmino at best . But the Man City minefield of mids is exactly that . A minefield. If you happen by chance to pick a starter you are likely to get returns . The only safe pick historically is KdB as if fit he plays , the rest are a lottery .

      I agree with 442 mate but Walker could be rested and cancelo play right back to allow Zinchenko some minutes. Why not swap to James? At least James can get points even if clean sheet is busted
