James, Mount and Alonso benched as Lukaku leads the Chelsea line again

Relatively few Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers will have escaped some rotation pain on Saturday and the teamsheet bombshells continue at Brentford this evening.

Chelsea make the short journey across west London to meet their neighbours in the 5.30pm BST kick-off.

Taking inspiration from Pep Guardiola’s starting XI selections earlier in the day, Thomas Tuchel has thrown a few curveballs our way.

Malang Sarr‘s debut wouldn’t have been predicted by many and the effect of his inclusion at centre-half means that Cesar Azpilicueta once again lines up at right wing-back, so the fit-again Reece James has to be content with a seat on the bench.

Marcos Alonso and Mason Mount will be alongside the defender, while Callum Hudson-Odoi drops to the bench, Antonio Rudiger misses out with a back problem and Thiago Silva isn’t involved following his late return from World Cup qualifier duty in South America.

Andreas Christensen and N’Golo Kante return to the starting XI.

It’s a relatively serene picture with regards to the Brentford team news, as Thomas Frank has made only one change to the side that started the win at West Ham. It’s an enforced one, too, with Mathias Jensen coming in for the injured Shandon Baptiste.

Kristoffer Ajer is only among the substitutes.

    Ronaldo and Lukaku 24m worth of strikers have scored a grand total of 11pts between them over the last 3 gameweeks. Just unbelievable. The general consensus seemed to be that Lukaku is a hugely improved striker since he was last in the premier league but he's looking the same donkey he used to be. What to do with these expensive clowns!!

      yes I have that for now, whoever starts @ LWB for Chelsea will be averaging 5.2-5.5 PPG for the season. But you must have a decent bench with around 3.2PPG at least coming on for the one that does not feature.

      When it comes to the point where Chilwell is the clear favourite and starting 2 out of every 3, Alonso will be sold.

          he is good, but I think the main reason for the second season syndrome is clubs being reluctant to splash the cash on premiership level players incase they go back down. Championship quality can only carry you for os long before cracks appear.
          In Jan/Summer they need to sign 2/3 proven PL players imo and have faith they will stay up. If they dont sign anyone, they will be relegtion candidates next season imo

    Glad that I didn't WC in GW8 and deviated from the plan due to increased uncertainty. Would be have definitely taken out Bruno Greenwood and Ings on the WC.

    You know what, why did Chelsea lsoe Tammy, sign Kaku? Plus they could have signed Ings or DCL isntead and both are betetr than Kaku.
    Mad, really. Its because Ings, DCL and Tammy arent "big names". I woulda kept Tammy, and signed one of those two then rotate them around

        I think maybe a big team was interested, because he said he was going to move to a big team, and then went to Villa lol. Villa is a big club really I know, but I dont think he meant that.
        Maybe there had been dsicussions for him to move to Spurs if Kane went, but then that fall through? As a Spurs fan, if Kane did go, I was hoping we would sign Ings.
