Tips and advice from the Fantasy Premier League world number two

In our latest Fantasy Premier League (FPL) video of the November international break, Az chats to the current world number two Oscar – aka FPL Focal – about his triumphant season to date.

Oscar can be found profiling some of the greatest FPL managers of all time over on his YouTube channel but is in with a shout of achieving something special himself in 2021/22, sitting just three points behind Daniel Masson-Abraham in first place.

Oscar discusses his spectacularly successful decision to Bench Boost in Gameweek 11, the result of which catapulted him from 323rd to a podium place.

Luck versus skill is debated as Oscar talks us through his season history, while thoughts on his Gameweek 12 set-up and future plans – including what to do with the misfiring Ivan Toney (£6.7m) – are also discussed.

You can watch the interview via the embedded video below or over on our YouTube channel.

I don’t think Jota is going to get the big hauls. He was wasteful in those early fixtures. Son has the bigger ceiling imo

I’m a bit hesitant on going for a non playing FWD fodder, come the festive season you’re going to need your bench, whereas Brownhill as fodder plays. Might have to get rid of Mbuemo or Raph

                • 8 Years
                2 years, 5 months ago

                I don’t think I can lose Raph

Mbeumo is an option though, I’ll take a look

I’d still have a pretty strong bench though even with Davis

Livramento is a great bench option then it would be between Mbeumo and Jimenez occupying the other spot each week assuming no problems elsewhere in the team

I have Raph too but I’m actually considering getting rid. His last goal was lucky and the fixtures aren’t actually that great. If Bamford was back I’d be more inclined to keep him but I might get rid

Early thoughts, plan was to get Son in for fixtures, thoughts?

    A) Bring in Son for Havertz, -4
    B) Havertz to Jota for free
    C) Save
    D) Other - if so what?

    Ramsdale
    TAA Cancelo Chilwell James
    Salah Havertz Foden
    Antonio Jimenez Toney

    Foster Livramento Raph Benrahma

Not James for a hit . His best fixtures are behind him. He could easily concede in the next few

I really wanted to learn to poker properly last year, but I just couldn't hack staring at a screen for the amount of hours it takes to get good. I reckon if you haven't got hours upon hours to dedicate each week though, you can probably earn as much from FPL as you could from poker given the same moderate time investment.

Possibly Dennis or McArthur. Doucoure has a slight injury and I wouldn’t go near Everton players at the moment anyway.

Thanks. Already have McArthur and Livramento as benchers, need 1 more enabler who can get more than 2 points…been planning to get Dennis, but noticed Doucoure may be a more reliable outlet for points during the upcoming fixture congestion than Dennis once he’s fit again. Both at a great price

I think people are a bit overestimating James fpl-wise. He's a great option, for sure, but he won't be scoring a goal every game, he'll still get benched from time to time, especially in more difficult games. Think his stats will revert a bit too (but even if so, they're still great). That said, I will probably be getting him, just not sure he's worth a hit.

Always posts really good numbers when he gets minutes.

Whilst he's the main RWB starter, I'm happy to take that risk.

When his minutes become less certain then I can look at selling.

That's forcing him into playing 4-4-2 every week. In that case, downgrade Vardy and upgrade Johnson to TAA.

        1. Boberella
          • 7 Years
          2 years, 5 months ago

But that would also be a 4 at the back every week.

    Steele (Sanchez)
    TAA Cancelo Reguilon (Livramento Duffy)
    Salah Son Raphinha Benhramha* (Brownhill)
    Kane Toney Hwang

WC available hence the triple Spurs punt, exact money for Benrahma to Jota (-4)?

I'd play Benny and avoid the hit.

Is it more important to get Kane into your team or Jota?

I have a feeling spurs could be a flop despite the fixtures but I do favour Kane rather than Son purely so the route to Ronaldo or Lukaku is easier. Getting Son would be too disruptive to me so I’m going to gamble on missing him.

Kane needs the easy fixture imo. Son not so much. Think I’ll bring Kane in 1st and wait on Son as I wouldn’t mind having him when fixtures turn anyway. Spurs are the floppiest team in PL history though.

Don't like either. Kane at a push for those fixtures, new manager and potential explosiveness.

Jota love is inexplicable. Feels like another FFS band wagon.

    Guaita
    Chilwell James Cancelo
    Mbeumo Salah Raphinha Havertz
    Kane Toney Antonio

    Foster Dias Livra Brownhill

    a) Havertz to Jota
    b) Toney to Wilson
    c) MBeumo to Cornet
    d) another option
