Liverpool v Arsenal team news: Tsimikas starts as Robertson misses out

Seven down, one to go: the final Premier League match of the day sees Liverpool play host to Arsenal at a rain-soaked Anfield.

Kick-off on Merseyside is at 17:30 GMT.

The Reds scored three goals home and away against Arsenal last season and have found the net on 28 occasions in their last eight home league meetings with the Gunners.

Mohamed Salah personally has six goals and four assists in eight fixtures against Arsenal since joining Liverpool in 2017, averaging 8.13 points per match.

The Egyptian is part of an unchanged front three this evening, taking his place alongside Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane.

Jurgen Klopp has been forced into two alterations elsewhere, however, with captain Jordan Henderson only fit enough to make the bench and Andrew Robertson absent entirely.

Thiago Alcantara and Konstantinos Tsimikas come in to replace them.

Mikel Arteta’s only change from the 1-0 win over Watford in Gameweek 11 is a predictable one: Thomas Partey returns from a muscle injury at the expense of Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also fit enough to feature despite some cryptic comments from his manager in Friday’s pre-match press conference.

Time to wildcard the team below?

Or just a simple Ronaldo + Gray > Kane + Gallagher for free?

    Sanchez*
    TAA Cancelo James Liv*
    Salah Foden Raphinha*
    Ronaldo* Antonio* Toney*

    4.0 Gray Marcal Brownhill

    Potential wildcard team something like:

    Ramsgate
    TAA Cancelo James Chilwell
    Salah Foden Jota Gallagher
    Kane Benteke

    4.0 Dennis Johnson Brownhill

    Ramsdale
    TAA | Cancelo | R James | Livramento
    Salah | Raphinha | Mbeumo
    Ronaldo | Vardy | Jiménez

    Steele | Duffy | Brownhill | Allan

Duffy looks set to drop (I'll lose 0.1) however, with the GW not completed and no concrete thoughts it's probably best to hold for now.

No, he’s on -76% on FFFix. Usually when both FFF and FPLstats match that’s the best indicator of a drop. Drop predictions usually are more off than rise predictions.

Difficult.. Current team (1.4 in the bank):

        McCarthy
        Cancelo / James / Chilwell
        Salah / Foden / Raphinha / Cornet
        Kane / Vardy / Hwang

        Gunn / Duffy / Williams / Bissouma

        So the plan was:

        A) TAA & Benteke / Williams & Vardy
        B) TAA & Gallagher / Duffy & Foden

          B looks OK
But I would be tempted to get a cheap 4.4/4.5 mid in for Raphinha and change Duffy to TAA
Good left field 4.5 mid could be Ramsey - Villa. Wright talked up his potential on MOTD

Biggest current dilemma is whether to stick or twist with Schmeichel.

Leicester’s defence is woeful but they’ve got this decent run coming. Hate making goalie transfers but sick of basically knowing I won’t get a clean sheet from my keeper every week.

Keep him for the time being or get rid for a Ramsdale or a Guaita?

Yeah, the early transfers always surprise me. I’d imagine they need to be full strength for Juventus midweek (i.e. don’t risk Alonso) and then presumably same again for Man Utd next weekend. Watford the following midweek must be the opportunity to rest/rotate given West Ham away is a tough fixture just a few days later.

Chelsea have 5 games in 15 days or something like that. There will be rotation and Rudiger probably is the most nailed. One full back and Rudiger is enough

It is hard to avoid it sometimes if you read too much online stuff. The way I do it now I keep half an eye on what the celebrity/expert fpl people who play the game. They normally copy each other then it tells me which way they are all going. The price rises and falls are also a good indicator. I keep an eye on the herd and it tells me which way they are going. The comments on this site are another early bandwagon indicator - the 'I have to get xyz'. How do I get xyz?' There are always other options. Westwood and Wood are examples I always use they are rarely brought in but they chip away consistently. Sort of fpl blind spots.

Then I simply decide are they good moves or is there an obvious one that they are not getting that I should get. Or is the one they are selling worth keeping a while longer?

It does not work everytime. Worked when I jumped on Reece James early when heads were turned by Chilwell. Worked when I kept Raphinha despite sales.
But it did not work when I only planned for TAA gw13 and it did not work when I got Vardy for a second time so far- he has done nothing since Lukaku's injury. I am keeping through these nice fixtures despite the price drop.

I captained James the week Salah got that massive score v Man United. It actually ended up costing me points! I was raging - it was 'nearly' a great move.

At least I am playing the game my own way and it is much more fun than blindly following what the self proclaimed 'experts' do.

I like the ‘blind spot’ analogy. Right now I think Bernardo silver is one right now, Bowen & cornet were a few weeks back. I think captaining a wing back is a great call - most would have beaten salah this week.

            Cheers for the tips

    Sanchez (Steele)
    TAA Cancelo Rudiger (Livramento Llorente)
    Salah Cornet Trossard Foden (Allan)
    Kane Antonio Toney

    0.9itb

Little stuck on what I should be looking at for next week. Was thinking Toney out would be the priority, possibly still is. But think I need to just get Chilwell or James in at this stage. I punted on both before either even had any sort of proper run in the team earlier in the season and it was a complete disaster so I said I'd stay away but I can't really do that any more. Do I simply do Rudiger to one of them? Would probably prefer to do Llorente to one but can't afford it, not really convinced by a double up either as they have been conceding chances. Is -4 for Rudiger to one and Toney to ASM too much?

You need to decide if you're a die-hard 3-4-3 man or open to switching to 4-4-2 and getting a Chelsea WB alongside Rudiger. You're not that far off it budget-wise. If open to 4-4-2, then downgrade Toney to get the funds to upgrade Llorente.

If not, then postpone Toney out. Everton home is a decent fixture.

Definitely not against 442, it's just about having a playing bench forward and there aren't many that feel worth going for (Hwang is fine for me but has a very bad run of games coming up, other than that there aren't really options under 6.5 that I feel will play every week). Hmm, I'll have to think about this

Lots of problems, which should I address first with 2 FT & wc intact?
Would you WC this lot soon?

Vardy - great fixtures but Leicester looking out of sorts and he's expensive
Antonio - bad fixtures but feel like he's been unlucky with the scores; not many strikers in form right now anyway
Mbeumo - waste of a transfer, extremely stupid of me to pick him over Gallagher 2 or 3 rounds ago; needs to go asap
Sanchez - much better options out there but would only replace him on wildcard I guess
Foden - injury & rotation doubt
    Jota - injury doubt
    Raphinha - injury doubt?
Semedo - next 2 fixtures looking really good with Wolves quietly doing well but I just don't trust him

I’d wait for the mid week games to happen first then decide but initially I would look at mbeumo plus another

Yeah I feel like fixing the Mbeumo > Gallagher situation is the priority, although I'd love to get Cancelo or James/Chilwell in (Trent & Rudiger my only premium defs right now)

Not that keen on losing Rudiger (unless on wc) as he has been doing well and is as nailed as you can get from a Chelsea defender. Might just do the Mbeumo move, bench Antonio/White and wait until next week

        Def. holding until Friday tho

If it were my team, I would save the WC for GW20. Players are leaving for AFCON and there are 12 teams that play Sunday-Tuesday GW19-20.

But it's not my team, it's your team, so if you have a different plan, then I'm sure you know your team and yourself better.

Thanks, not familiar with the AFCON situation at all - I usually avoid playing WC early too (and tend to wait for doubles & blanks), so I might as well do that again

3 players I wouldnt be bringing in myself
in about 3-4 GWs you'll want Antonio back as well and have to pay extra for the privalege

    Sanchez
    TAA Cancelo James
    Salah Foden Raphinha Gray
    Ronaldo Antonio Toney

    4.0 Marcal Liv Brownhill

    Which sounds best for free?

    A. Marcal + Antonio > Chilwell + Benteke

    B. Ronaldo + Gray > Kane + ESR/Gallagher

    C. Gray + Antonio > Jota + Benteke

Heard talk that Mili affects Gallagher's output. Is there any truth behind that?

What I have read and heard is Mili takes some set pieces off Gallagher. He is the type of player you have to field every week as he can haul against anyone.
