Who are the best FPL captain options for Gameweek 14?

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) looks to be the leading captain candidate once again in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), as Liverpool travel to Goodison Park to take on their city rivals in Gameweek 14.

However, there are other options on the radar too, including Harry Kane (£12.3m), Jamie Vardy (£10.6m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.9m), who has now outscored his Egyptian team-mate in each of his last three outings.

First, we will assess the fallout of the Gameweek 14 captain poll, before then analysing the best options, Rate My Team (RMT) and the Premier Fantasy Tools ratings ahead of Tuesday’s 18:00 BST deadline.

THE CAPTAIN POLL

Mohamed Salah is the leader of the Captain poll for the seventh consecutive Gameweek, with just over 50% of total votes from our users at the time of writing.

Second-placed Harry Kane has received 14.18% of votes ahead of his home match against Brentford, and should be raring to go having been handed a rest over the weekend.

Jamie Vardy occupies third-place with 7.66%, followed by Callum Wilson (£7.4m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold, with 4.21% and 3.83% respectively.

      Jesus is an iffy one for you. Won't tell you to sell, but his funds are causing you a slight issue.

      I know it doesn't sound appealing right now but Mbeumo (5.5 SV) is not offering much this season (2 G 0A), tough fixtures soon. Doucoure (5.4m) has just returned (2G 4A this season) - so could shave 0. 1m

      As it happens the fixtures suit Mbeumo more still, and Doucoure's get good as soon as Mbeumo's become poor. Sadly Everton have been dire, but just throwing our ideas.

      I don't really like the look of Hwang > 4.4m for the Christmas period when you already have Brownhill tbh.

                  The left foot is pivotal and also the attacking impetus. I'd predict a winger to play there over Azpi.

          I would C that personally. Livra isn't the worst sub to come off the bench if Vardy doesn't play at all and it's surely only a matter of time until Mbeumo hauls. Don't think Spurs is the worst fixture for him either.

          Only worth it if you're keeping Wilson IMO. Well, if you want Antonio back anyway. Can understand selling Antonio due to lack of returns, even. If I don't love it.

          I wouldn’t do those moves, Raphinha gets atleast 2 more matches (both home to CP and Brentford) and ESR is cheap enough to keep as a long term 4th or 5th mid

        Alternative Alonso view, seeing as every man and his dog is getting him.

        I'm not sure I have a viable route to Alonso.
        Only options are (and need funds to do either)
        A) Livra
        B) Tomiyasu

        Reluctant to shift either, livra ive had since 4.0, and just super value.
        Similar with Tomi, super value at his price.

        Am I wrong in avoiding Alonso??

        He's not been that amazing after gw1 when he's played.
        Good for sure at his price, and he could haul in upcoming weeks, likewise he might not.
        But is it worth downgrading others to upgrade either livra or tomi I'm not sure.

            I own james, and even ignoring the funding, as there is always a way of doing any move, its more about who id want to upgrade between livra and tomi, and that is where I don't see the value.
            Of course if you have chillwell, its an easy move, but outside of that, I'm not sure.

            I sold Livramento last night with a view to getting Alonso and feel fine about it. He's much better than Liv and at 5.6, I don't think there is a better midfielder our attacker.

              Livra 3.7points per game avg for a starting 4.0 is insane value.

                  Rodrigo but neither really. I think you'd be better off with a fodder mid like Brownhill or Gilmour. Gives you scope to improve your 11.

                      Sell Son? Not being Son lately.

                      I sold Son and Aubameyang for Jota and Vardy. Second time to sell Son. But selling him saved a lot of MacGyvering to get Jota. Inevitably I'll get him back when he hits form.

                          Id either go to a 4.0 like Williams as he'll be bench most weeks for you, or can you downgrade hwang, so something like hwang and Marcel to alonso and Dennis, that is a great move, but maybe just out of money.
