FPL Gameweek 19 team news: Injury updates on City, United, Toney, DCL and more

We’ve got further team news for Gameweek 19 after more Premier League managers staged their pre-match press conferences on Thursday.

There were slightly fewer conference calls than expected, however: from the initial list of 10 pressers we received, Antonio Conte has shifted his briefing to Friday and both Claudio Ranieri and Bruno Lage dropped out of media duties after Wolves v Watford was called off.

We still have news from Manchester City, Manchester United, Everton, Burnley, Newcastle United, Brentford and Southampton to bring you, at least, plus some quotes from Chelsea and Leicester City from last night.

FPL Gameweek 19 team news: Injury & Covid updates as Ronaldo resumes training

Managers of any teams not mentioned above who have Gameweek 19 fixtures still standing will presumably face the media on Christmas Eve.

With the coronavirus pandemic, of course, much can happen between a press conference and kick-off, so keep tabs on our site and the below article for the latest updates.

    I thoight the COVID issue was with Leeds and not Liverpool. Why selling Salah if he only misses one game especially as they play Leicester following gw ? Maybe I am getting mixed up...

      Lack of 11 players. Early switch to Son who has Southampton next week (just as bad as Leicester in defence). Then Salah faces Chelsea with Kante back and Son faces Watford and then he's off for Afcon.

      Salah potentially has 3 blanks over the next 5. Captaincy can be covered with Son or Ronaldo for the 2 fixtures Salah is available

        p.s. the bps thing is arguably more true for Ronaldo since forwards get more bps for scoring

        CR7 has 3 bonus in 4 of the 5 games where he scored this season and 0 in the other

    Looks ripe for FH to me this week, particularly if you have 2:

    1) Lots of key players out for most teams. Pool especially.
    2) There are a bunch of 15:00 matches that will be odds on to go ahead if you hang fire till 13:30.
    3) Those matches look great for Spurs/City/Arsenal/West Ham and maybe cheap Burnley/Brighton or Brentford defenders if you gamble a little on the 20:00 game
    4) Covid may ease for some of the teams currently suffering most - and I personally have 4 of Watford/Villa/Leeds. Bit more chance that they come back on 28th.

    All speculation and everyone has their own agenda but pros beating cons I think in my case

    Can always hit the FH if there are any more postponements and get the hit removed.

    I would happily sell Salah and get him back on a wildcard later.

    Problem is Chelsea are away at world Cup when he comes back from ACON so was gonna wildcard when Chelsea come back.

    Rightnow doesn't seem so bad, I can change Salah for Son with FT and got 11 playing , although this would leave me with no bench at all.

    But I'm 99.9% sure some other games will be postponed as well. So might take a -4. Not willing to take -8 though.

      Not a fan. Think Foden is still a good long-term pick and could well start and Laca has a great fixture. Feels like you are forcing those two out.

    A. Salah & Antonio to Son & Ron. Would only have 11 players so no bench in case of post-deadline postponement.

    B. Salah & Dennis to Son & Ron plus another transfer to downgrade elsewhere (likely to bench fodder) for -4 but have 12 players as it stands.

      Currently on 7 outfield plyers and worried from them about Foden/Alonso/Jesus minutes.

      I could load up on City/United/Spurs/Arsenal/Hammers with great fixtures...even Burnley against a wounded Everton

      90% on it I think...
