FPL Gameweek 19 Scout Picks: City triple-up against injury-hit Leicester

We have chosen our best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players for Gameweek 19 ahead of Sunday’s 13:30 GMT deadline.

We’re already three fixtures down for the Boxing Day matches, with the postponement of Liverpool v Leeds United depriving us of the services of Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.3m) for the first time in a while.

We have gone for a 4-5-1 formation this week and, as ever, we are limited to an £83.0m budget for our starting XI.

Our four substitutes, meanwhile, are chosen from the budget/mid-price crop of players to give some potentially cost-effective alternatives to the big hitters who invariably make the initial cut.

GOALKEEPER

Norwich City are the division’s lowest scorers with a paltry eight goals in 17 matches and even the change in head coach hasn’t really addressed that weakness, with Dean Smith’s side finding the net on just one occasion in the last five league fixtures. A Covid outbreak isn’t likely to do the Canaries’ preparations any good, either, so Aaron Ramsdale (£5.1m) wasn’t a difficult pick this week. As well as the opposition, he is also in on his own merit: he has the highest points-per-match average (5.1) of any first-choice goalkeeper this season and has prevented more ‘expected goals’ (4.2) than any other shot-stopper bar Jose Sa.

              No it doesn't. you didn't know the chip and therefore how or when you should use it.

              You need a strategy for the chips + FT to make points moving forward. Time to plan for the rest of the season

    need an advice. this is my current team for GW19 without any transfer so far (have 10 playing + Locadia)
    I'm planning to use 1stFH ahead of (D)GW22. I personally like the 5th option.

    1) Salah + Locadia/King -> Son + Broja (-4)

    4) Salah + King -> Sterling + Antonio (-4)
    5) King -> Broja (for free; and I'll have Salah vs Leicester next gameweek and then I can sell him)

      Agree with you.

      5th option sounds best to me. You should keep salah in vs Leicester because he can still deliver for you. Also it’s probably most sensible to not take the -4 hit.

      Depends who the players are but - 8 is a big hit. It would have to be someone likely to score. Even though it is effectively a - 4 if they both get a minimum 2.

    I thought it was unthinkable, but surely removing Salah is the right move here? He is missing for GW22/23 - (Potentially GW24) so really the risk is not having him vs Leicester/Chelsea?

    Want to be certain here, removing him goes against all my instincts!

      Many will bring in Son, who I think will play 5 games to Salah’s 2 between now and whenever the Liverpool legend returns from AFCON (if it proceeds). I’d take Son in this circumstance. But things change rapidly so do some homework and good luck.

      Yeah I have 10 players with ESR and Antonio. I'm doing Salah King to Bowen Ronaldo too with means I can put Livra first on bench. I'm sure ESR will get some minutes but he can't keep scoring from the bench!

    Well, still undecided, but eaning more towards FH, so desperatley need opinions which to go for here pretty please.

    I realise there's a lot here, but need ya help!

    My non FH team as it is now:

    Ramsdale
    Tierney - Cancelo - James - Reguillon
    Foden - Jota* - ESR - Salah* Bernado
    Watkins

    Sanchez: Antonio*: TAA*: Dennis*

    That's 9 out but doubts over ESR, Foden & Antonio without even a decent captain choice.
    The onlly thig i could consider here is Salah to Son or something like a -8 to get Ronaldo also losing Bilva in the process.

    FH team would cover a lot of cracks, and that's as follows:

    Ramsdale
    Tierney - James - Cancelo - Dias
    Bowen - Mahrez - Son - Martinelli
    Kane - Ronaldo

    Decent bench also to cover any absences.

    I know there is potential for disaster with Ings Jesus SmithRowe uncertainties but the free hit would only mean Son Kane Ronaldo and one or two extra in defence which is a failure if Spurs do not perform
