FPL Gameweek 19 Scout Picks: City triple-up against injury-hit Leicester

We have chosen our best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players for Gameweek 19 ahead of Sunday’s 13:30 GMT deadline.

We’re already three fixtures down for the Boxing Day matches, with the postponement of Liverpool v Leeds United depriving us of the services of Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.3m) for the first time in a while.

We have gone for a 4-5-1 formation this week and, as ever, we are limited to an £83.0m budget for our starting XI.

Our four substitutes, meanwhile, are chosen from the budget/mid-price crop of players to give some potentially cost-effective alternatives to the big hitters who invariably make the initial cut.

GOALKEEPER

Norwich City are the division’s lowest scorers with a paltry eight goals in 17 matches and even the change in head coach hasn’t really addressed that weakness, with Dean Smith’s side finding the net on just one occasion in the last five league fixtures. A Covid outbreak isn’t likely to do the Canaries’ preparations any good, either, so Aaron Ramsdale (£5.1m) wasn’t a difficult pick this week. As well as the opposition, he is also in on his own merit: he has the highest points-per-match average (5.1) of any first-choice goalkeeper this season and has prevented more ‘expected goals’ (4.2) than any other shot-stopper bar Jose Sa.

        All depends on invidual teams, for some FH makes sense and they may score handsomely.

        Very often on here we fall into group thinking trap forgetting that there is always more than one way to skin a cat.

          If you now have two I can understand, but with the way this season has gone and there 'only' being 3 games cancelled this week I would've thought people would've kept it in their back pocket for a rainy day or a scheduled blank or dgw.       Why not, its clear that for people in charge of FPL main goal is to keep masses(casuals) interested and what's better than handing out free tinkering tickets to everyone.

      Nobody in towers cares about hard-core players who put in hours to analyse & plan.

      I’m not. My current plan is to FH this week and then buy players who will have double gameweeks in GW22. Then use my other FH later on in the season.

      I’ll also have two other chips for DGWs.

      Unless I sell Salah, but seems crazy to do before he plays Leicester!

      If you don't want Salah next GW (if he has a game) then you'd be better off selling him now and using 2 FT to either get Ronaldo or Kane, or just do Salah to Son.

        obviously want Salah next week, but just considering the fact he's blanking in 3 of the next 5 whilst Son could play all so I think he will outscore him during this period.
        So its either FH and have Salah for next week then probably sell anyway or just sell him now and work out a plan to bring him back when he returns around gw24

        Basically FH or just use 2ft and a hit or two...

    This gameweek is turning into a nasty business.

    4 out. Take a hit? A free hit? Take Salah out? Antonio?

    I could do with another game being postponed because that makes it easier. I fear the team i'm left with won't be enough if I leave Salah and co in. There is no other way of bringing players in unless I remove Salah.

      is it worth keeping salah just to have for Leicester game knowing he will blank in 3 of the next 5...
      For me it's FH or Sell Salah - I prefer Son to Ronaldo but understand Newcastle aren't very good

          Lots will have triple Liverpool so those not using FH will struggle for full team
          At least you have United coverage and can go Salah to Son/Kdb and still have a 442 team - albeit not ideal starters
