FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

Our FFS Open Cup and FFS Members Cup competitions take a break in Gameweek 20 due to the quick turnaround between Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadlines but we’ve still got the latest results and draws to bring you in our regular round-up.

We’re at the business end of both competitions, with the round of 16s set to take place in Gameweek 21.

There’s a total of £600-worth of prizes on offer across the two tournaments, with a full breakdown towards the bottom of this article.

*all overall Fantasy Premier League ranks given in this article were correct before Gameweek 20 commenced

FFS MEMBERS CUP

Three managers who sat in the top 1k ahead of Gameweek 20, and another lurking just outside, made it through to the last 16 of our FFS Members Cup.

The highest-ranked of these FPL bosses is I Member (449th), whose successful Free Hit saw him see off Korma Police to set up a Gameweek 21 clash with Phoenix From The Flames.

ZIKOFLY (942nd) and Minority Laporte (983rd) defeated Dog Shot Rovers and rligudfootiemanager despite red arrows, in what was a low-scoring Gameweek for most concerned.

Mingo (1,157th) also played their Free Hit to move within touching distance of a three-figure rank, beating Rfiske in the process.

Batmaniac‘s score of 73 was our highest of round five.

The standard is high in our last 16, with Notlob Legin the only manager outside of the top 100k.

The full results from round five are here.

The sixth-round draw is here.

FFS OPEN CUP

In contrast to the FFS Members Cup, there are no managers within the top 1,000 still standing in this tournament after elfortu (637th) and the aforementioned I Member (449th) were dumped out at the sixth-round stage by Bousy_boozer and the mysterious ‘Restored’ team, who is on a remarkable run having been presumably hacked in Gameweek 7.

Al ashkar, Matjes_taet and WEAK BECOME HEROES are all ranked between 3k and 6k and are our best-performing FPL managers still left in the FFS Open Cup.

Al ashkar is on a run of 11 consecutive green arrows, having moved from 611,730th in Gameweek 8 to 3,669th in Gameweek 19.

rocco10 managed to progress despite scoring just 32, with opponent TFO falling seven points short.

The full round six results can be viewed here.

The seventh-round draw is available here.

HOW DO THE CUP COMPETITIONS WORK?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round were randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a draw, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

WHAT IS THE GAMEWEEK SCHEDULE?

The FFS Open Cup competition will be played out according to the following proposed Gameweek schedule:

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 12
  • Round 1 – Gameweek 13
  • Round 2 – Gameweek 15
  • Round 3 – Gameweek 16
  • Round 4 – Gameweek 17
  • Round 5 – Gameweek 18
  • Round 6 – Gameweek 19
  • Round 7 – Gameweek 21
  • Quarter-Final – Gameweek 22
  • Semi-Finals – Gameweek 23
  • Final and third place play-off – Gameweek 24

The FFS Members Cup competition will run as follows:

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 13
  • Round 1 – Gameweek 15
  • Round 2 – Gameweek 16
  • Round 3 – Gameweek 17
  • Round 4 – Gameweek 18
  • Round 5 – Gameweek 19
  • Round 6 – Gameweek 21
  • Quarter-Final – Gameweek 22
  • Semi-Finals – Gameweek 23
  • Final and third place play-off – Gameweek 24

WHEN ARE THE FIXTURES RELEASED?

Where possible, the fixture list for each round will be published before each Gameweek deadline.

Pickford saved from him at the Euros. I think keepers that wait to see where he puts it are the clever ones.

Dias - purely because there’s some funny business going on with Regi.

On the bench v Liverpool then hooked at h/t yesterday.

Is he nailed? Is there something about his play that Conte doesn’t like? Does he have fitness issues right now?

I’d avoid for the time being…

The game was played on a knife-edge. Very physical with Soton in particular very physical. Reguilon gave back, copped a yellow, should have been given a second and wisely left behind in the sheds at half time.

He's my preferred replacement for James.

    A) James to dias

Bernardo rested tonight?? Why? Minutes not huge since Dec 4th. Played 315 minutes since then..That’s 3 and a half games in 25 days?? Rested for early kick off Sat only reason? Tough match vs Arsenal. Bre away no picnic at times.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of changes in the squad, but on the other hand seeing likes of Mahrez and Sterling to play again wouldn't surprise me either. Whether Foden and Grealish will start or come from the bench, is also another story. Pep has long memory.

He only has one game left before AFCON (against a Spurs team playing much better now).

Palace not that easy a game though.

For me a Spurs attacker away to Watford looks more attractive.

If the DGW comes out like our friend Ben has penned I'm thinking a serious shake up

    Too much?

Son is deffo one to have for the upcoming dgw. So is Maddison if he's fit.

DCL is too much at this stage....he hasn't played since August

Watching the Spurs Saints Game yesterday I focused on Son like I never have before (Captained). He is one clever dangerous player (not that anybody didn’t know that). Constant smart runs, every time he gets the ball he excites you. Captain for Watford defo.

Yes, I regret not getting him in for -4 (missed deadline) for Bernardo. I believe that now the obvious transfers for me are Salah and Laca out for Son and Kane.

Who would you bin first of James & Alonso? Thinking James may actually be the more prone to rotation now with Chilwell out long-term, plus his attacking threat seems to have diminished since Mount stole all his set-pieces.

Even if they will, we need to know who. Alonso being first choice remains a strong possibility.

Chelsea have decent LWBs out on loan. Maatsen at Coventry for one, Emerson at Lyon being another. They could bring one of those back in January as cover for Alonso.

My suspicion is that if there's a new signing it may be a mutual loan with Everton, with Barkley going to Everton and Digne to Chelsea for the rest of this season.

But yes, I am considering selling James and banking the money. One of the problems is no obvious target, don't like to get Robbo for short term and not 100% sold on Reguilon. Yet, having Robbo instead of Jota after Afcon is one possibility to consider.

When I firstly bought Reece James he was so disappointing being benched/injured etc.. but I kept him and he rewarded me with a huge run of double digit returns
Now Bowen was also disappointing for the past few gws but I knew he is a great pick so I kept him and he rewarded me too (and it's just the start imo)
The same goes for Bilva I think who may haul soon and this is why I keep him
So the lesson is.. if you believe in your players give them time and they will reward you;)

DM? He really isn't. Nominally he's been playing false 9. KDB being back does lessen his appeal though, he's still in with a shot of FPL returns and finds himself in the box but also drifts wide and deep and makes space for others.

Broadly agree re: patience, but I think the tactical shift at City, with KDB taking over Bernardo's role, makes it a bit different from Bowen/James.
