Frisking the Fixtures

Double Gameweek 21 announced for West Ham, Brentford and Everton

The news that Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers were waiting for – or part of it, at least – finally arrived on Friday, with the confirmation that we are to get a Double Gameweek 21.

West Ham United, Everton and Brentford are the three teams who will get a Double Gameweek, 16 teams will have a single Gameweek and Newcastle United will be without a fixture altogether.

A total of 22 postponed Premier League fixtures were outstanding before today’s announcement (18 due to Covid-19, one thanks to inclement weather and three future matches due to clashes with the Club World Cup and EFL Cup final) with three of them now rearranged for Double Gameweek 21.

The additional fixtures in Gameweek 21 are:

  • Southampton v Brentford
  • Everton v Leicester
  • West Ham v Norwich

It’s at this point where we bring up the dreaded C-word again: coronavirus. It goes without saying that the fixtures below are the mercy of the ongoing pandemic, so doubles could easily become singles or blanks in an instant.

We’ll have more coverage of the Double Gameweeks in the coming hours and days, while we’ve set up a Hot Topic to gauge your reactions here.

Which do you prefer for a hit this GW:

    A) Mount > Son or Gray (already have Bowen)

    B) Locaida > Antonio or Toney (will make getting Salah back tricky)

Looking at it positively. A reason to get rid of Bernardo Silva for a hit.

Who would you get for him for -4, except from Bowen? And A player you would like to have in your team the week after too?

Dennis due to AFCON seems the right move.
But Ronaldo opens up funds for other moves

Worth noting there are FAC games for the 3 DGW teams in between...

West Ham have Leeds at home. Everton away to Hull. Brentford away to Port Vale.

    More chance for Covid/injuries...

Looking at best use of ft in this crazy moment. Team is in good shape compared to others.

    Would you do:
    A) Broja+Rudi to Antonio+1)Targett or 2)Coufal

    B) also Bilva to Foden now for -4?

    DDG 3.9
    TAA Rudi Cancelo Dier Tierney
Son Jota Bilva Bowen D. Luiz
    CR7 Dennis Broja

    2ft, 2.2m itb

      A. Foden doesn't have doubles and rotation risk and the goals shared around the team so wouldn't worry too much about him

So what's the crack with Ben johnson 4.0? I can get in...
Bilva, Wilson and James for son, Antonio and Johnson but is he due to play next few games. Understand coufal is back but will Johnson cover cresswell ?

Not the most exciting DGW, can't really see too much attraction to the Brentford or Everton players. As long as you have 1 or 2 West Ham in you're probably fine

Hmm, ESR or Gallagher to Bowen?

Was keeping Salah, but may do Salah > Son, spread the funds around to get Son, Antonio and Bowen in

This is a tricky juggling everything

gona be a crazy few days

      Ive got the same choice

Swaying to galla..due to esr being benched and still scoring and not flagged..

Yes coming to same conclusion, but Gallagher more useful if fit

        Considering Gray+Bowen for ESR+Gallagher

Hadn't seen anything. Guessing no presser as the game got postponed so would be surprised if we get news pre-deadline.

Last thing I saw on it, posted by Daily Echo:

Tino Livramento was also ruled out with a knee injury concern, as Hasenhuttl revealed the youngster has fluid in his knee.
Jannik Vestergaard had what sounded like a similar issue and never came back the same player, after playing on through the concern for Denmark.
Asked if Livramento’s concern is reminiscent of that, Hasenhuttl responded: “I’m not so sure, I don’t think so. It’s so tough the injury.”

      Hampshire Live phrased it differently:

"I am not so sure but I do not think [it is serious]," Hasenhuttl said when asked specifically about Livramento.
"I hope it is not so tough, the injury,"

At least one of them doesn't know the definition of a quote...
