Frisking the Fixtures

Double Gameweek 21 announced for West Ham, Brentford and Everton

The news that Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers were waiting for – or part of it, at least – finally arrived on Friday, with the confirmation that we are to get a Double Gameweek 21.

West Ham United, Everton and Brentford are the three teams who will get a Double Gameweek, 16 teams will have a single Gameweek and Newcastle United will be without a fixture altogether.

A total of 22 postponed Premier League fixtures were outstanding before today’s announcement (18 due to Covid-19, one thanks to inclement weather and three future matches due to clashes with the Club World Cup and EFL Cup final) with three of them now rearranged for Double Gameweek 21.

The additional fixtures in Gameweek 21 are:

  • Southampton v Brentford
  • Everton v Leicester
  • West Ham v Norwich

It’s at this point where we bring up the dreaded C-word again: coronavirus. It goes without saying that the fixtures below are the mercy of the ongoing pandemic, so doubles could easily become singles or blanks in an instant.

We’ll have more coverage of the Double Gameweeks in the coming hours and days, while we’ve set up a Hot Topic to gauge your reactions here.

Who should I drop first to get Antonio:
    a) Jesus (likely to be benched as he played last gw)
    b) Lacazette (playing agaist Man City)

Keep the player most likely to play … so get rid of Jesus and Laca soon after.

I'd rather ditch Dalot, but would have to opt for a different WHU def

    1 FT

    A) James > Coufal
    B) Mount > Son (have Bowen)
    C) Mount > Gray (will do Bilva > Son next week)
    D) Locaida > Antonio (makes getting Salah back tricky)

100% doing A - just a matter of deciding on which transfer for a hit

    Anto, Ronaldo (vc), King.
    Bach, Dalot, Martinelli, Tierney.

Wouldn’t waste a FH at this point.

Wouldn’t go nuts on taking hits to get loads of doubles in with those fixtures either.

agree. not a tantalizing DGW, a hit is only slightly worth it.

Agreed. I'm tempted to take a hit for DCL which goes against all I've said recently, but I may hope he'd at least get 3pts back on that, but I won't be taking more

Yeah … because of James injury, the max I would do is a -4 but ideally I wouldn’t take a hit.

    Will bench Laca this week.

Certain no Brentford player is as they are away to Liverpool in GW22. I would take a hit for a Everton defender. At least you get 2 chances at a clean sheet.

    A) Tielemans,ESR to Gray, Bowen (-4)

Anyone else considering selling CR7? I’m going to FH22. 23 he has West Ham and 24 he’d be sold for Salah anyway. Might aswell sell to Antonio now for the double. Could give me funds to do Davis to DCL(-4). Antonio and DCL are 2 players I want long term too

    From the dgw teams:

No defenders and mids except from Bowen I Think is likely to have more than 1 attacking return over 2 matches, and that I would like to have in my team the week after.

Same with Toney and DCL not match fit. Maby Antonio, bit doesn’t seem like in form and would require -8 to get in.

FH seems A waste with these teams in GW 21, knowing that the players we really want and believe in have A dgw in GW 22. so FH in GW 22.

Just go with Bowen in dgw 21?
