Double Gameweek 22 confirmed for eight teams

The revised fixture list for Double Gameweek 22 was announced by the Premier League on Thursday morning, with eight top-flight sides playing twice.

Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Burnley, Chelsea, Leicester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Watford are the clubs who have two fixtures in the upcoming Gameweek.

There is a caveat: this proposed schedule is subject to change should any FA Cup third-round matches involving these teams or their second Double Gameweek 22 opponents be postponed this weekend. In the event of that happening, the outstanding cup ties would be played in this free midweek instead.

  • Brentford: Liverpool (a), Man Utd (h)
  • Brighton: Crystal Palace (h), Chelsea (h)
  • Burnley: Leicester (h), Watford (h)
  • Chelsea: Manchester City (a), Brighton (a)
  • Leicester: Burnley (a), Spurs (h)
  • Man Utd: Aston Villa (a), Brentford (a)
  • Spurs: Arsenal (h), Leicester (a)
  • Watford: Newcastle (a), Burnley (a)

There is a real mixed bag of ‘doubles’ here, with Brentford’s two games unappealing and Chelsea and Spurs having far from straightforward tests.

The best pairings are arguably those of Watford and Burnley, although which players from these two clubs beyond Emmanuel Dennis (£6.1m) and/or Joshua King (£5.8m) represent attractive targets is another question.

Liverpool, West Ham United and even Everton, whose players some of us would have loaded up on ahead of Double Gameweek 21, have very decent ‘single’ Gameweeks, meanwhile, so as ever a balancing act would seem to be the way to go.

    I'm almost in BB territory, but United FBs are holding me back. No idea who to bench or captain. Any advice?

        If you already have Ronaldo, it looks like the major benefit of a FH team is Burnley (and maybe Brighton) defenders that you don't have to keep in the longer-term. But that's actually a minor benefit at most, I think. Kane and Son could be a plus, but they could be outscored by SGWs. It's not as obvious as DGWs with City and Liverpool playing poop teams, for example.

        Nobody asked me, sorry. Also I have 8 DGWers before FT, so just ignore me.

                Dennis and Ronaldo are the players I fear, if any, but their SGW alternatives in my team (DCL + Antonio + King) have good fixtures

    Was considering FH for the last 10 minutes, but when I look at my team there isn't a single starter who I really want to get rid of. Of course they could be improved but it seems like marginal gains. In fact I don't even know what to do with my FT, as I want to keep MCI defs, and if I do an attacking change who would I bench/sell? Any smart ideas?

      Just did the same analysis (similar team below). Had to get all the way to Broja before I spotted a single change I’d make. And I like him going forward tbh but the fixtures are very poor. Martinelli and Tierney with Burnley home next too 🙂

      I’d probs roll haha but I’m sure lots will change in the coming week with postpones or whatever else 🙂

      I don’t think there’s a standout pick tbh.

      Kane’s historically done well against Arsenal and Leicester but that probably means nothing plus he looks average at best.

      Someone like Tarkowski will probably end up on 20 points. It’s often the centre halves in DGWs for some reason IIRC.
