Brentford v Man Utd and Leicester v Spurs team news: Ronaldo and Reguilon return

The final two matches of Double Gameweek 22 take place tonight, with Leicester City v Tottenham Hotspur getting underway at 19:30 GMT and Brentford v Manchester United kicking off half an hour later.

The big team news comes from west London, where Cristiano Ronaldo returns to the Manchester United XI after sitting out his side’s two recent meetings against Aston Villa in league and cup.

Scott McTominay is also back after a one-match ban, with Nemanja Matic dropping to the bench and Edinson Cavani missing out because of injury.

It’s an otherwise unchanged line-up, with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial returning to the bench.

Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka miss out with a hamstring strain and illness respectively, while Jadon Sancho is unavailable due to a family bereavement.

Brentford give a debut to recent signing and £4.5m FPL goalkeeper Jonas Lossl, with Mads Bech Sorensen, Mathias Jensen and Sergi Canos also recalled.

Alvaro Fernandez, Rico Henry, Kris Ajer and Shandon Baptiste are all benched.

In the other match tonight, Leicester welcome back a host of faces from injury and illness.

Kasper Schmeichel, Caglar Soyuncu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Luke Thomas and Patson Daka all return to the starting XI, while defender James Justin is among the substitutes as he makes a matchday squad for the first time in 11 months.

Sergio Reguilon returns from injury for Spurs, with the wing-back, Hugo Lloris and Oliver Skipp the three changes from the EFL Cup semi-final against Chelsea a week ago.

Pierluigi Gollini, Matt Doherty and Giovani Lo Celso make way, while Son Heung-min again misses out because of injury.

            Oh yeah I have heaps in the bank! I'm basically torn between going for KDB for the next few or not. If I don't then I can still upgrade Allan to anyone up to 10.5 (if I do the Lloris/Alonso move it gives me enough to reach Sterling if I wanted), gives me more flexibility for the coming weeks too. On the other hand KDB is a captaincy option. I guess I'll figure it out in the next couple of days, I'm sure some swerveballs will come our way in the pressers

        From memory the 3rd place play off is the same day as the final. I imagine Egypt are something like 11/4 to reach the last four, so plausible to think he could be there until the end. They will probably have to get past Ivory Coast and Morocco to get to the semis - and both of those sides are probably marginally better than Egypt.

        Liverpool v Leicester is 4 days after the conclusion of AFCON. So realistically he’s training 1-2 days ahead of the game at most if Egypt go deep into the comp. I think it’s fairly likely he goes straight back into the the team regardless, simply based on us getting beat by Leicester last time out and how poor our movement off the ball is without him (and Mane) in the team.

        Interestingly, back in 2017 Senegal got eliminated from the AFCON in the first knockout round on the 28th Jan. We played Chelsea at home 3 days later (arguably a bigger game) and Mane started on the bench.

          It’s amazing how quickly things can turn. From previous seasons I’ve played, my worst season was when I started taking loads of punts to differentiate my team from rivals (triple captain Andy Carroll lol) if I stuck to my normal game I would’ve won my cash league easily

      Not been many times this season where I liked my team much. Does not like it very much at the moment either.
      But looking into the fixtures and the postponed matches I like owning Kane.
      Spurs got some games in hand and Kane plays every minute on penalties and just got a huge boost tonight.

      In midfield we have players like Bowen, Raphinha, Maddison, Ramsey, Coutinho, Salah, Jota, Saka (when Arsenal get some games), Cornet (when back) and so on.
      I'd like to own them all.
      KDB and City are always attractive, but with no games in hand, and the league wrapped up they will aim at CL sooner rather than later. I'd go nowhere near any City players except Cancelo.

      The forwards are not as attractive, and therefore Kane seems a good choice when going for a second premium.

    Day before deadline I was contemplating if I should do Salah, Son, Cucho to Maddison, Bruno and Kane with exact money in the bank. If I had made those early transfers I would be 54 points better off at the moment. Those postponements really messed things up.

    Watched Leicester v Spurs and wasn't following FPL as had no players in this match.. After the game I thought Man Utd had finished and saw my captain de Gea on thirty points for a team 90 pt total. Unfortunately match wasn't over and Maguire came on (didn't watch but anyway inevitably Man U conceded as is usual this season)

    76 pts no Bruno/hits/chips is OK but could have been so much more.
