BRIEF ROUND-UP

James Maddison (£8.3m) will miss Gameweek 12 after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in Leicester City’s goalless draw with Crystal Palace.

The much-maligned Danny Ward (£4.1m) recorded a second successive home clean sheet but it was Vicente Guaita (£4.5m) who took top honours at the King Power, registering a double-digit haul after saving six shots and collecting maximum bonus points.

It’s been a Gameweek for goalkeepers after David Raya‘s (£4.5m) heroics on Friday, with Jose Sa (£5.1m) rising to the summit of the shot-stoppers’ points table with a clean sheet, a penalty save and three bonus ponus points in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Wolves are now joint-second in the division for clean sheets (four), alongside Tottenham Hotspur.

Neco Williams (£4.1m) benefitted from an injury to Serge Aurier (£4.5m) to regain his place in the visitors’ starting XI but blanked for the eighth time in 10 matches.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.7m) was passed fit for Fulham’s clash with fellow newly promoted side Bournemouth and scored from the spot but it was Dominic Solanke (£5.7m) who stole the headlines and the maximum bonus at Craven Cottage, plundering his fifth and sixth attacking returns of the season with a goal and an assist.

The only team without a clean sheet in 2022/23 are up next for Solanke and the Cherries.

In the evening kick-off, Everton underscored their growing reputation as a solid defensive side and frustrated Spurs for the first half of their contest. But Harry Kane (£11.4m) extended his blank-less run to nine matches, tucking away a second-half penalty to lift his points-per-match season average to a superb 7.2.

Wouldn't drop Kane at all, just be wary of risk of rotation with Trossard, he probably should be fine to play but 2 games in 4 days for Brighton so there is a chance de Zerbi mixes things up

Captain failure, but could have been a success... if I fade a Haaland/Salah slaughter I'm in great shape.

8 likely starters next week with 1 free transfer and 2 m in bank

A Maddison to Trossard and play 9
B Maddison to Bowen and play 9
C A plus Patterson to Castagne or Dunk ( which?) -4 for 10 starters
    D B plus Patterson to Castagne/Dunk -4 and play 10
    E Any better suggestions welcome

    Pope ( Ward)
Doherty Trippier Guehi ( Cancelo* Patterson*)
Zaha Andreas ( Foden* Martinelli* Maddison*)
    Kane Mitrovic ( Haaland*)

I’m on WC13 so want to be aggressive for gw12.
    Thinking of

    Haaland + Maddison > Kane + Sterling (-4)

    Gives me a full 11.

    Pope
    Trippier, Doherty, Neco
    Salah, Sterling, Bowen, Andreas
    Kane, Mitrovic, Solanke

    Iverson, Cancelo, Gabriel, Martinelli

    It’s a fun team yeah?

Team is a disaster for next week. Currently got

    Ward
    Trippier Jonny Coufal Williams
    Andreas Gordon
    Kane Wilson

Maddison, KDB, Martinelli, Cancelo, Haaland all out

Coufal, Williams appear to no longer be first choice, even Gordon might not play, so likely to have max 7 starters.

Tempted to free hit, any thoughts?

Looks like Aurier is injured so Neco should be fine, I'd take -4 and play 10 personally. Lots will be taking hits and missing players next week, the FH will be more valuable down the line

Moving out James, KDB and Jesus for -4 this week before I WC in GW13. Have a few ideas for midfielders but not sure on the defender or forward.

Pretty comfortable for funds (likely to go with mid between 6-8m so should have about 18.5m for those two spots), is Kane the best forward? Would consider Aubameyang but already have Sterling. I don't mind Wilson either but Everton can be tough to crack, Newcastle in good scoring form though. For the defender I might go for whoever out of Chilwell or Cucurella doesn't play tomorrow, or is Brighton def (Forest) or doubling up on Newcastle defence (alongside Trippier) worth a shot?

        • 3 Years

He's been very consistent (even if a bit lucky in places), I feel like ManUtd will go at Spurs which should suit them but I'm definitely aware Spurs aren't playing well by any means (my midfielder punt may end up being Antony too!)

    2. Gon Freecss
      • 2 Years
      1 year, 6 months ago

Ive got Kane, and am very glad I do. Definitely the most consistent striker! I'm looking at Chilwell/Cucurella as well... not interested in Newcastle defence beyond Trippier, and post-potter Brighton look less solid at the back. Who are you going for in midfield?

      1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
        • 3 Years
        1 year, 6 months ago

Tomorrow will probably be very important in determining that, at the minute it's between Bowen and Antony. Was possibly going to consider Maddison but can't now, Trossard was my initial choice but I just have a feeling he may get a rest. I think Antony is leading it as I want him GW14-16 so I may just hold through, still unsure on how West Ham will do against better teams going forward as they've only won against some pretty poor teams recently, tomorrow won't tell me much more but if they look further improved in attack then I may go for him

Now James and Maddison are out…. Will only have 1FT …. Should I

    A) -4 and get rid of James and Maddison
    B) get rid of one of them and field 10 (though one is Neco….)
    C) Wildcard (I think 8 of my players have decent fixtures so half a dozen would be WC contenders anyway)

        Used to love it
ESP the 12. Gone off it a tad due to the fake colour/flavour they add
        Still quaffable though

      Option A.

      Currently enjoying Springbank 10yo.

I've heard great things about the Machir Bay... Look forward to trying it.

        Yeah it’s good
Picked up a sale bottle, reduced further as box was beat up
        Was a bargain

Thanks to Madders and James I’ve only got 7 potential starters with Son(c) and 1 FT for next GW. I’m loathe to use the FH but it’s a potential disaster. What would you do?

    Pope
    Dier Tripps
    Andreas Son
    Edouard Mitro

I'd go -4pts get rid of james + maddy. Free hit will be better used in these doubles

I’m stepping back from the FH.

Why is everyone assuming there will be a better time to free hit?

With free hit this time you can target the Brighton v Forest, Newcastle v Everton and Liverpool v West Ham games. United could beat Spurs too.

    Could be a massive swing.

Because invariably there will most likely be a DGW with juicy fixtures at some point
