Captain choice for next week should be interesting

    Haaland vs Newcastle
    Saka vs Bournemouth

I'm probably going to go Saka but I'm sure it'll bounce between the two until the deadline

Rash vs Haaland last week, Saka vs Salah this week, Saka vs Haaland next week. It's good the league is presenting us with these options. Helps swing it a bit.

True. Still feels rubbish to have to factor EO / FOMO into that decision. I can't remember a season having a premium returning 10 points and being disappointed

You'd think so... but Haaland will be the player to C. At home.

If Saka disappoints again vs Everton I don't think many will C him, despite it being Bournemouth.

Saka plays at home too. And the way the season has been going, expect Saka to outscore Haaland.

I'll toss two more in here:

Rashford vs Liverpool (Casemiro's back too)
      Maddison vs Southampton

Viable options. Especially Rashford, if he plays on the left vs TAA.

Me too. After watching the Palace game last night, Liverpool will likely lose 5-0 at Home. I reckon Klopp will be gone after that game.

He's my VC, but watching Bournemouth fall apart last night locked Saka in for me

Could change closer to the deadline though

My issue with Haaland is that I don't expect Foden to start again, as Pep might go for his "controlled game" with Grealish after what happened at St James' Park in GW3. I also think Bruno G will be a significant difference. Haaland's hauls aren't easy to predict now, so maybe he'll bang another hat trick anyway

Maybe owning Maddison will be enough, but I won't be surprised to see him (or whoever ends up as my first sub) as my highest scorer

I was considering the Bruno factor too when I was speaking about other options being viable. With no Bruno, Haaland would have been an easier option.

Between Saka & Rashford for me. I still have a lot more faith in Newcastle defence than most, it seems - still don't really like the idea of captaining anyone against them

I think I'll probably have Trippier with Gabriel. Botman, Trent and Buneo my other options but the latter two could be Estupinan or Mee by the deadline.

As an enabler and in place of a blank, it wasn't a bad shout. Still might not be.

Taking a hit for him just to field an extra player was always a classic DGW fever symptom

True. I didn't want to go there because 28/29 (when you're likely to call on your cheap bench players) he is starting a run of poor fixtures. And the whole "taking a hit for an Everton players is DGW madness at it's finest" thing....

Was always a punt and he might knock one in yet, he's an enabler at the end of the day. If someone were to get 3 or 4 Wolves in for double, that's fever.

Spent all their money on one guy who hasn't really hit the heights he could be. Didn't reinforce areas that was needed. Feels like the United side Fegie left for Moyes - in need of a serious refresh but not dealt with as such

No Mane isn't helping going forward but as you say the degradation is team-wide. The same thing happened a couple of season back when they only finished 4th due to a late revival of form so all hope may not be lost yet.

Sold Mané, got scammed by Benfica, no proper ball winning midfielder, no playmaker in midfield apart from maybe Elliot(Henderson, Fabinho, Milner now struggling with pace of PL), Defence chemistry also shiit this season & finally Klopp still always finding excuses instead of solving the problem.

Did they even buy anyone last transfer window?

Does feel like he placed too much faith in that midfield. But the drop off from them is something I’ve never seen in football. To go from nearly winning everything to relegation form is nuts.

In hindsight the move this week was to take 10 hits at a cost of 40 points and BB to 106 points, current gw rank no. 1.

With Ings and Martínez and ignore Salah and captain Haaland. Trust in the process!

FWIW I don't think Tross is a threat. Jesus yes, but not Trossard. It was purely an injury that kept him out. Expect him back when fit.

That said, with players like Toney and Watkins having more and nice games it's not a bad time to jump off. With Jesus impending return you'll be doing it at some point before next month is done
