Starting to think Kane (eve) is maybe a 6 point ceiling. Things don’t seem great at spurs and not ruling out a transfer if funds are needed for a BB upgrade

Brought in Chilwell for Henry and Henry outscores Chilwell by 1 point

    Chilwell 0.61 xA, 0.1xG, 0.71 xGI
    Henry 0.06 xA, 0.08xG, 0.14xGI

Right decision but unfortunate outcome imo

I’ve even started to feel sorry for them. I don’t know why they don’t try and win a league or FA cup and try to go from there.

Instead they just try and get UCL on the cheap holding onto players who don’t want to be there.

      Their fans are starving

    BB29 ?

    Anything worth a hit?

    Kepa,

    Toney, Watkins

    Raya, Saka, Kane, Zinch

    4.6

Very similar to my team except Mings instead Chilwell & Ward instead of Kepa.

Who do people think is the best DGW29 defender to bring in for for a hit? Already got Trippier, Mee, Chilwell.

Not sure on Estupinan and his trip to AUS and not convinced by Villas fixtures for the likes of Mings

    Any thoughts?

Hard when the best fixtures defensive fixtures include Leicester and Forest.
I'd look at your defense going forward. If you're got Chilwell, Trippier and Arsenal playing most weeks, you probably want someone cheap and can bench without needing to waste a FT on 4th and 5th defenders

      1. Boberella
        • 9 Years
        2 years, 8 months ago

Yeah, thinking same. Other 2 are Dawson and Zinchenko so yeah, would play the 3 you’ve mentioned moving forwards. It’ll be Dawson to go for a doubler, so maybe Castagne or Mings are the best as will bench ongoing

BB29. Got 2FT, not 100% sure where to spend them. Open to rolling one and having 2FT to bring Haaland back in 30.

    Kepa, Raya
    Gabriel, Estupinan, Mee, Botman, Trippier
    Mitoma, Rashford, Martinelli, Saka, Maddison
    Toney, Kane, Watkins

Thinking maybe Mee to Chilwell/James as one. Maddison out as another? Thoughts welcomed thanks

    1. Boberella
      • 9 Years
      2 years, 8 months ago

Any cash itb? Don’t think I’d lose Mee. Maybe lose Botman and spread the risk, or Gabriel.
Definitely wouldn’t drop maddy for the double. Kane to Felix/Havertz could work as a punt.

Got a decent bit of cash. Botman to Chilwell could leave me a little tight on getting Haaland back. With 1FT. Not losing Kane - he's too reliable. I like Gabriel as a differential even though I did bench his haul last week. But open to losing Arsenal with form not as solid and fixtures turning soon

I haven't seen/heard anything other than an article said dropped on here today.

Whether that meant he's out of favour. Or, just that he was literally on the bench, I'm not sure.

We have seen him playing like Sanchez. What else do we need? Breaking news!!! Also goalkeepers can be dropped from starting XI if they don't play well enough 😉

Arsenal could rout Leeds so Odegaard maybe not ideal transfer. Like the Gabriel move as you've suggested above. I'd probably hold Odegaard and get Ward out for free.

I am not saying WC was wrong so its not hindsight, just observing teams struggling this week that planned for 2 doubles with a blank in-between ... it was always going to be difficult and many said so in advance

My WC26 planned for 2 doubles and I have a green arrow so far this week. Everyone seems to be 'struggling'. Which means the average is low, so nobody is really struggling. This was always looking like a low scoring week, as many said in advance (including me 🙂 )

As a WC26 I struggled in 26 and this week, but net green arrow thanks to a great score in 27 and, hopefully, more green in 29

The great thing is Levy won’t, out of spite.

It’ll get very ugly towards the end of season I think.

Hate myself for playing BB earlier in season, on a whim, to mitigate against a -8. Seemed harmless - who needs a BB chip anyway, right?

Roll on to now. My GW29 team is fine in terms of personnel - but with no BB will end up taking a mullering.

Help me out - 3 from these 4?

    - Gabriel (LEE)
    - Marti (LEE)
    - Saka (LEE)
    - Kane (eve)

Well, everyone who has played longer knows that using BB early is not usually optimal strategy. With very good luck it may work, but that's another story. And taking hits certainly isn't valid reason to use BB.

Ha, I bench boosted in GW1 last two seasons. It didn't work this season. But the season before it owned, I had like triple west ham and some other combo that did very good, forgot now what it was.
It wasn't terrible this year, but didn't give me any particular benefit/lead.

Ok - agree with Gabriel on bench. Put him there last week and he bit me with a 14 pointer. Clearly won’t happen again…

          No… it won’t. I’m fine now. Thanks.

I had a bad start to the season and got bored so I essentially stopped playing after the world cup. I did however log in to make some transfers every week or two though so I wasn't totally a mess. Anyway, last month or so I managed to pull myself back from 4 million to 2.5mil, and I have had a few good weeks now. Its kind of given me hope that maybe I can still get a relatively decent finish if I try now.

Do you think its possible to recoup 200 points at this point or too late? (how far I'm behind league leader) If not that much, then how much, or what kind of rank you think is possible? Top 100k?

The problem with catching people is, its not exactly like they have bad teams, I need to do extremely well to have a chance, be lucky, and hope they unlucky.

    1. TheBiffas
      • 5 Years
      2 years, 8 months ago

I think it's pretty hard to make big gains this season, but not impossible ofc. I tend to have a few good weeks followed by a really bad one that puts me right back where I started. For you, I think top 250k would be a great result

I was 3.8 million in GW 7...now hovering around 400K so it is possible...if you have chips left. You would have to get off the template a bit and get lucky with those differentials.

    2. Biggsy
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 11 Years

There is a strong template, particularly with few premiums justifying their price tag. You've probably got to go bold with the differentials and hope they come off, and every time.

That said, 200 points is only 20 points per gameweek which isn't impossible. Just difficult to maintain.

      1. Baps Hunter
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I'd say it's practically impossible. Haaland is going to be best C option most of the time and betting against him is hardly viable strategy. However, if he picks up injury and something strange happens, it might be possible. Triple up on Che defence and Brighton + MU attack or something similar very bold and extremely good luck would be needed. All eggs to few baskets is perhaps only chance.

Away at Arsenal not easy for Leeds. Plus not sure who I'd ditch for him amongst the current crop of midfielders. It's a good shout, but think on most lists he won't make the top 5
