To get both son and salah i need to sacrifice 1 of 3.

    1. Trippier
    2. Saka
    3. Watkins.
    So, which one?

I’ll sell Salah. He’s not worth that insane price. I’d drop salah and keep the others:)

Yay, the day is here! Morris, will you nudge me further up the rankings tonight?;) I mean, you never know. Morris could score a couple of goals and make this the punt of the season.

I have exactly the same issue with my WC… think I’d rather just be OK with 2 points coming off my bench if I need it. Too many times this season I’ve had benching dilemmas and got the decision wrong. Would rather a stronger starting XI.

I also don’t think the bench upgrades in B are significant enough, Alvarez looks absolutely pivotal to everything City do at the moment.

    How's this wildcard?

    Areola, Turner
    Trippier, Cash, Udogie, Kabore, Taylor
    Salah, Son, Diaby, Bowen, Anderson
    Haaland, Watkins, Edouard

    £0.3m left over.

Edouard could become Alvarez but would have to sacrifice Trippier so not sure it's worth it.

    1. The Mentaculus

I really can’t say I love a wildcard with Turner, Kabore, and Taylor. Basically a useless bench there.

I think Trippier’s best fixtures have passed; I would downgrade.

No Arsenal or Liverpool is surprising too.

There is something psychologically satisfying about a WC draft that leaves 0.0m, sometimes it even pushes you to a poor decision as the 0.0m is taken as 'a sign'. That's where I'm at right now.

    Areola Turner

    Cash Porro Gabriel Burn Taylor

    Salah Son Maddison JWP (Nakamba)

    Watkins Alvarez Haaland

    1. Athletic Nasherbo
      • 8 Years
      2 years, 2 months ago

I think this draft is decent.

But I don’t love it. Why?

Well I think Turner is undesirable and Taylor is a bad pick. I’d prefer Bowen over JWP.

Are you planning on bringing Arsenal assets in for GW 10 etc?

      1. Viper
        • 15 Years

Turner is a 15th player which is basically never needed realistically.

I definitely prefer Bowen to JWP but where do I find the funds?

Son -> Saka is an option in 10

Bowen going to be one of the best value for money mids to own.

    7 matches
    5 goals, 1 assist
    xG 3.64
    xA 0.77
    xGI 4.41
    6.9 points per match

Only "difficult" matches left up to GW18 are at home to Newcastle GW8, away to Aston Villa GW9 and away to Spurs GW15. But how difficult are these three matches when West Ham are actually very good attacking wise and can score vs any team.

Other than that his fixtures up to GW18 are great and he is still only 7.2m.

On course to have another season like in 21/22 with 206 points. Had him since GW4 but should have been in my team since GW1 and a big shout out to Alvarez as well, forward punching well above his weight. Value to the fullest.

If you were to go Salah-less you could literally get a whole team with 1M spare that has even a strong bench of starters...

    Example team;
    Areola, Turner
    Trippier, Burn, Cash, Gabriel, Udogie
    Son, Saka, Bowen, Diaby, Gordon
    Haaland, Alvarez, Watkins

    1. La Roja

So Salah is worth investment or not is the question?

      1. Zenith UK
        • 9 Years

I was saying for weeks I was against him but I kept guessing the wrong mid-priced midfielders to bring in, so I brought him in just to tick over on WC (wish I'd never used it as it cost me Watkins...).

I'd rather the benching headache week in week out to be honest and be ready for any random injuries/suspensions (such as Gordon, annoying suspension).

My team isn't awful, but I think it's in a bit of a mess considering I just WC'd.

Depends if I want to try and fit in both Salah and Haaland.

We all knew before GW1, one premium setup in Salah or Haaland can give you a good squad of 15 players. The only thing that is changed this time round is potentially going against Haaland for captaincy.

That is a huge team. I'm not sure if it's because it's Tottenham, but something about doubling up on MaddiSON is just turning me away right now.

Are all the bench options fodder? I do like the rotation availability that was the intention of the team I posted above to be honest.

If you go Haaland less you can have a whole team with 2m spare 😉

I actually prefer this team without Haaland

      Areola Leno
      Trippier Saliba Porro Cash Dunk
      Salah Son Saka Maddison Bowen
      Watkins Alvarez Foster

Defenders will pick themselves according to fixture plus no benching headache in attack.

Fine with Dunk just in case Estupinan has benching issues going forward.

      This my work in progress,

      Areola,
      Udogie, Cash, Trippier
      Son, Saka, Bowen, Diaz,
      Alvarez, Haaland, Watkins,

      Turner, Diaby, Burn/Coufal, Taylor

Your benching an expensive attacker and two expensive defenders every gw; waste of budget
If WC should be able to pick best options with fixtures and bench fodder
Losing out on Salah captain option
No coverage of best attack in league with best fixtures

        I’m benching a 3.9 & either a mid or defender.
Would rather have options with all the extra time & injuries.
        Probably wouldn’t Cap him.
Diaz is a shoe this week & with Gakpo & Darwin injured or managing injury.

Reply was to OP...not your team...

Don't fancy Diaz...low returns/ppm and historically has been same, had him earlier and shipped him out

Fair enough on options, but benching Diaby is effectively 2 m of budget not at use

On the other hand, my current favourite WC draft is

      Areola, Turner
      Trip, Porro, Cash, Gab, Kabore
      Salah. Son, Bowen, Neto, Anderson
      Haaland, Alvarez, Watkins

I'd say Saka was the big miss in mine so it's really Salah v Saka as the key decision and I think for the next few I'd rather have Salah. Its a long way from a no brainer, though!

How comfortable are you/would you be with dropping Trippier on a WC?

Probably have to try fit both Salah and Haaland, triple Spurs with this Luton fixture and 3 AV having their Luton GW10 as well. Basically have to drop one of Tripp, Watkins, Alvarez. Tripp the safest to bet against?

With these fixtures it would be between Alvarez and Watkins for me. Dropping Alvarez is a possibility. Having said that, I didn't naturally sell Alvarez for Watkins on my gw7 WC.

I'm doing it. My TV is rubbish so I've struggled to get Salah, Haaland, Son, Alvarez in same team. Tripps is obviously a great asset and has done brilliantly for me last 3 games (38 points!) but can't see him continuing to score at that rate.

I would not drop Trippier. I know I’m in minority here, but I think Watkins can be a trap, Brighton was just terrible and his xG was 0,81. Risk is high though…

Antonio for a differential? (don't have Bowen). I like my midfield but wouldn't mind some WHU coverage for their nice run of fixtures, and need to transfer Morris out anyway.

Idiotic phrasing. Check lists are used in aeroplanes and nowadats even surgeries to avoid basic mistakes. "Check complete" leaves room for this kind errors. "Goal, game is one nil" would be certain. Even saying "no goal" is not enough.

I think they should use some very random words that are rarely heard, or unusual terms. For example, an onfield decision stands - BINGO. Onfield decision overruled - TURNIP

        😀

I am starting to understand why some are considering going without Haaland after I checked the team I can have with Salah. Whether I am brave enough to go that route is another thing. Having bot Mo and Haaland just feels more "safe" plus you can still have a top squad.

I was set on no Haaland but maybe it’s an opportunity to have both big hitters

Yeah, I prefer Haaland up to op over Maddison in midfield to be honest. After that it is having Watkins vs Alvarez.

The other thing is you probably will be without Trippier but you can own a full playing defence without him.
