Just realised that West Ham are the televised game in the UK tomorrow over Arsenal vs Brighton. What on Earth is going on this season? Paying extortionate fees for subscriptions and West Ham have been the Sunday game 6 times already this season! And on tv 8 times. Mental, honestly.

It’s extortionate exactly because people use illegal streams

You're naive if you think me turning off my stream will make sky choose different games.

They are obliged to show every team a certain number of times. They get the mid table teams finished early so they can focus on the title race later.

I think great call. I was thinking about it (Archer -> Raul for free), but bottled it on longer term planning (no cash to upgrade def). Think it’s a good move though tbh - esp as Archer now coming in for me for FA

That's low for mine. Probably from selling Haaland

Lowest ownership in my XI is Dubravka with 25.5% in the top 10k and 11.2% around me; next is Gabriel with 21.3% and 18.2% respectively. The other 9 are above 25%

My guess is that dead teams are skewing the numbers to a much earlier template. Well, either that or Haaland, or both

Solanke will blank because he’s Solanke 🙂

Nah he might return but people have got very carried away with a purple patch of form leading into good fixtures. At the end of the day it’s a decent striker in a mid table team. That’s it. I’d still probably pick Darwin over him!

    4. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 5 Years

He's still a good option with the fixtures, but I do think the attention on him has been a bit strange. In the last 10 games Bournemouth have scored 16 goals and he has 5 returns in that time so it's not like he's always involved when they do well

Kulu is becoming a consistent performer for us

I thought once people showed him down the line and realised he had once trick he’d be ineffective as he has no pace but he’s found other ways of impacting the game and is scoring important goals at important times now. Fair play to him !

Many delay so their transfers effect price rises/falls (they don't after you have pressed WC), but I don't get why anybody would take that risk as if one additional transfer is likely to make any difference.

Never thought of that. I wouldn't risk it for that biscuit.

In a game of around 10m just 1.4m sold Haaland.

Something like 14% of the top 10k captained him.

Maybe the deadline caught a few out yesterday?

That's tough. FWIW, I accidentally played my BB in gw1 with a complete fodder bench.

I think in your position, I'd wait until GW20 to WC, and do something different to the pack to try and claw back some of that lost rank ahead of the players leaving for AFCON & Asia Cup.

e.g. Triple Villa, Triple City, Triple Spurs (Kulu, Richy and Porro), Odegaard & Saka, and perhaps a 'Pool attacker in place of Salah.

How do people do this ? You do know that you can activate it then make as many transfers as you like after that?

I know some people don't do it till late as they want to influence the price rises and drops etc and them people deserve all they get. I assume that wasn't your reason though?

Just activate it straight away next time dude

Nah you misunderstood me pal. I don't actually think it's funny and as much as I want all my rivals getting less points as possible I actually sympathise with you as we put a lot of effort and time into this game and losing like this isn't the way

I was just trying to gage how it happened because when I activate it I make transfers then do it straight away. Then make as many transfers as I like AFTER I've activated.

People who do it to manipulate prices and mess up I do laugh at though because I don't like that myself ( even though it's fair game)

Well in my case I hadn’t even considered price rises. I was waiting for the Halaand news on the last day. Had Sanchez and Halaand to get rid of and there’s only a few weeks left to use the wildcard. So I was making a team to see how it would look vs taking a -4 then decided to go ahead with it to get solid playing bench as well over the busy period.

Just went onto autopilot accepting the transfers and forgot to hit ‘play wild card’

One drawback of my wildcard (I activated it) was that I had so many decent defender options that I benched Porro.

Unless my other 3 come in I've effectively lost the advantage of no hits etc this week.

There's always a sting in this game somewhere.

        Yeah you're probably right.

I should have benched Son instead!

In my defence I've put him 1st sub ahead of my 8th attacker.

I've played Trent and Senesi for attacking returns so it was either Porro away or Walker at home.

I heard they were a bit fortunate to keep the clean sheet then Porro popped up late on with a shot to bag 2 bonus points.

            We'll see.

            Porro got defensive returns, partially.

Also are Luton more likely to score than Forest at home?

Not according to the clean sheet odds but it's not a big deal.

Tbh, I'd have benched Walker instead of Porro and still played Senesi

Olise is a threat to City's CS, considering how they've been defending this season

All hindsight now anyway. 8 points aren't exactly massive, and the rest haven't played yet. Good luck

Check out if Gusto gets his starting spot back.

He's good for assists too, if given a licence to roam.

The manager needs to make his mind up to how Chelsea should play, or he'll be out of a job soon enough.

      Everton fixtures so so.

    No Haaland
    No Kane

    Value midfielders and defenders abound.

    Pretty much unlimited transfer budgets.

Just a compromise with a premium defender or goalkeeper or 8th attacker to make.

Unless you now chose to sit out £13.9m on the bench for 3 weeks at least.

If Haaland is out whilst Salah and Son are off in January, I might end up with +10mio. free budget as I'm already at +5mio. Never had this before.

But KDB might come back and who knows what will happen with ManU and Ten Hag, Rash, Bruno,.etc. Suddenly, completely new headaches.

In any case, there are so many options away from the templates of previous seasons. Really enjoyable.

As an example. No Haaland: Choices were Watkins, Solanke: Still template. Haaland back ether put them back or move on Salah/Son early: Still template. We think the template is going away; in fact just changing.

    Kinda down to:

    1) Bench Alvarez, Darwin to Watkins, play Taylor or take a hit for any mid/def

    2) Alvarez to Watkins, play Darwin vs Arsenal

    Thoughts?

    1. Atimis
      • 9 Years

      1) is having Alvarez as a placeholder for Haaland, 2) most likely Darwin becomes Haaland, third striker is Solanke.

Indeed is easy, just playing Darwin vs Arsenal doesn’t seem ideal. Have to think about 1) if taking a hit for 5th playing def/mid could be good for this hectic period.

Darwin isn't a defender. He won't get negative points if Arsenal score 5 or something. I'd take the 1 or 2 points instead of a hit, and maybe get lucky with a breakaway/transition goal or assist... Then the easy Darwin to Haaland for free afterward

Took a -8 this gameweek to clear some flags and uncertainties (James, Mitchell, Nunez) but hopefully will recoup that in BGW18 and when people get Haaland back.

    Newcastle - Dubravka, Gordon
    Spurs - Porro, Son
    Liverpool - Tsimikas, Salah
    Arsenal - Saliba, Odegaard
    Aston Villa - Torres, Watkins
    Chelsea - Gusto, Palmer
    Man City - Haaland
    Bournemouth - Solanke

Barring injury, I’m really happy with that bunch.

There used to be lots of quality content when the pages aren’t moving so fast, and there would be random non FPL chat that was quite funny to catch up on.

Hope it’s just the time of year, as it’s a slippery slope once you lose the main characters.
