Feel free to rip it apart - 1st stab at it based on posts and research:

    Raya
    Porro - Gvardiol - Andersen
    Nkunku - Gordon - Odegaard - Eze
    Haaland - Isak - Watkins

    (Turner) - Barco - Choudhury - Faes

I’d avoid Leicester assets even as a bench.

I'd take no notice of a rather useless and baseless comment.

Leicester assets on the bench could be a fine enabler for a strong 12-13 other players.

Fair fair - just a personal opinion that I expect Leicester to be feeders this season.

      I'd prefer 2x 4.5m keepers than a premium and a non-starter.

Turner, Barco, Choudhury, Faes... your bench isn't just rotten, it's firewood!

Raya is cheapest nailed route into Arsenal defence, 4.0 GK is the compromise. Rotating 4.5 GKs more headache than it's worth imo. And all I'm looking for off my bench is a 2 pointer, should one of my first XI not play.

No idea who choudhury is but the front 7 are power - at the expense of the backs. Not so keen on Nkunko (better players for that 6.5), bar that - good to go.

Well, without knowing your bench, upgrade one or two of those.

Nkunku is a wait and see for me. Often had him in my CL teams. He is prolific.

I have five of your front seven (ESR, Son instead of Nkunku, Gordon), but a more balanced squad.

But who is to say a strong starting XI plus a fodder bench is not the right way to go?

Yeah pretty much as solid as you could be without Haaland. Good team. Maybe just Eze, but you could do that after this GW as Gordon has the more favourable game, assuming he starts!

I'm afraid this is the best I've come up with. What do you think?

    ---------------Raya
    --Mykolenko Martinez Robinson
    Salah Saka Hudson-Odoi Rogers
    -----Haaland Isak Solanke

    Turner Amad Faes Barco

    1. LegendMoon

I was on Mykolenko all pre season but now can see a price drop pretty soon when things inevitably go wrong for Everton. Prefer ESR to Hudson, Amad has a lot of competition and I'm not sure Ten Haag likes him

So it's only 'reported' in the Turkish press, but Brighton look like they are in for highly rated left back, Kadioglu. This would put the cat among the 4.0m pigeons.

They won't pay 35m just for cover, so while Barco might start the first few games, his place would be under threat soon after. So better have a contingency plan or 0.5m up your sleeve.

Can also play RB. Some Brighton fans seem to think he's more likely to oust Veltman than Barco but I have no idea.

      1. Paul Psychic Octopus
        • 14 Years

Veltman is their weak link. They are often inverting their full backs into midfield so you would hope that Barco could also switch to RB.

You will want some Arsenal attack at some point.

The bench spot in the front eight is a bit of a problem, especially if you have no Haaland and decent Mids.

              It's either a 5.5m Forward. Or a 5.0m Mid. Or Winks.
