Can see Haaland being back on the menu in a few weeks time.

With most non Haaland teams seemingly having Salah Saka Palmer, who is the fall guy for getting him back?

I guess it would be possible to have all 4 with say a 105m+ team value, but I'd imagine you'd then have a structure including 2 x 5m players in midfield, Pedro and Raul which feels a bit sub optimal.

Or are people just going to avoid Haaland?

With the way are spread in my squad, it won't be easy to get Haaland just by sacrificing Saka/Palmer either. I like a meaty bench, and have been on a Salah OR Haaland strategy so far (not that I got any point from Haaland only owning GW6-10)

I shifted to a fourmium last GW. I'm not sure if I'll stick to it long term, but wanted to do it before I was priced out of it.

There are a lot of sacrifices, and not much wiggle room when looking at transfers to replace the cheap players.

      Flekken Fabianski
      Gabriel RAN VanHecke Mykolenko Greaves
      Salah Palmer Saka Rogers Dibling

That's not horrific tbf as you have 15 starters I think.

Tis a decent squad but as you said, not much flexibility.

      3. It's inflexible but you're covered♥️
a lot of the cheaper options you've got now has bad fixture runs though. After this week, Rogers, Dibbling, Myko, Flekken, i guess you could play Fab but if Lopetegui gets the boot i wouldn't count on him, then Ran and JSL soon runs into tougher ones. But if you've got a plan to deal with those, then why not?
I would consider Rogers to Enzo/Amad, Myko to AWB, Ran after 17 to say Palace def? JSL could be Raul, Vardy, etc?

        1. Hairy Potter
          • 10 Years

Yeah, it's inflexible as a structure, but almost forces my FT moves based on fixture swings. I'm thinking of Rogers to Enzo this GW or next. Myko and RAN will go soon. Andersen is a possibility soon if he's fit. Likewise JSL to Raul could be an option later. Henderson might come in for Flekken. Plus always the option of losing a premium if I want.

Palmer, Saka, Salah also have the fixtures though. Haaland will likely score plenty of points, but so could these three. It comes down to the 15m price tag and what other payers you can buy with the saved money. Eg Jackson, Isak, Gordon, TAA, Gabriel, etc for their good fixtures and/or attacking threat

      They are ridiculous

It’s a process but Spurs fans think they’re bigger than they are, when they wanted to lose a match on purpose last season to miss out on CL football. They wanted Mourinho and Conte gone because they wanted to play attacking football. Now they’re upset results aren’t going their way 1 and a half years into the process of building that

It’s so cringe seeing people talk about managers getting sacked after a few defeats when they’re in the middle of a process

Whatever about the fans (who let's face it are a fickle bunch at most clubs when it comes to what they want )the topsy-turvy 'win then lose then win then lose 'nature of their results points to some deep seated rot at the club. Its a mindset. They have the players and the talent. How can you not carry the mood forward from beating the champions 4-0 into the next game

        1. Qaiss
          • 9 Years

It does point to a rot but he’s trying to change that mindset and that can’t be done after one season. With Spurs it’s a deep rooted problem and changing the manager isn’t going to do anything

Hindsight is great but they had their klopp, pep, arteta in pochetino.some managers just suit clubs and he was tailer made for spurs. But they lost a bit of form and got rid of him. That's when the rot set in and it hasn't left.

Wow that's harsh! Who got a tune out of deli Ali since? No one. Yout doing him dirty there. ...And We're all saying arteta is a better coach than these guys..how? He's won nothing since first full season and been there 4 years. I'd call his squad insane to.

Dele’s had widely reported struggles with his mental health.

Without the injury crisis that left him relying on a certain academy striker, his “legacy” is seen very differently. Perennial bottler.

To dismiss his time at the club and reduce it to that is proper YouTube comment forum stuff. They've never gotten close to the football he had them playing, all those managers had kane to

They played great football at first yeah, but proved time and time again they didn’t have the mentality to win things.

Ironically, their biggest achievement (CL final) came during their worst season and even that they scuppered in the first 5 mins.

The fact he failed at PSG and Chelsea, and is now in charge of the USMNTBG+ really shows his level.

Agree. Mourinho and Conte had similar squads and couldn't get to pochs spurs level

People forget they once finished with 86 points with a gd of 60...

Look at the rest of the league that year - Conte walked it playing terroristball and Pep didn’t even hit 80 points. Finished 11 points behind Leicester in a 2 horse race the year before.

I don't think the level was that bad. Uniteds mourinho win the Europa league but finished 6th. Arsenal had a great team that season but finished 5th

U have to be at least a decent manager for consistenntly finish top 4 in the premier league. Only klopp and pep have done that in the least 10 years

Don't all teams win and lose though?
And so why aren't Brighton fans calling for Huerzelers head, since they beat City (like Spurs did) then they lost to Fulham

Well i think the expectations are different but the manner of the defeat yesterday was also different. Brighton by far the better team for the majority of the game bit lost on three clutch moments while spurs were completely abject for 90mins

Arsenal fans would have wanted to lose that match too if it stopped spurs winning the league let's be honest

The only process under Ange is getting even more inconsistent with ridiculous and arrogant tactics

..With arteta at least, even when results weren't going arsenals way their was much more stability and a clear pattern developing in play. Anyone who thinks arteta was a flop early on wasn't watching arsenal play just looking at the scores.

Spurs have gone from consistently finishing top 4 and even making a deep run to crap football and inconsistent results(Conte) and inconsistent results under Ange. They have every right to complain

Ange needs to go only for signing Werner again after the disaster he was last season

Arteta is better than Ange but during Arteta’s first full season we were absolutely awful and basically had a free hit season. We were comfortable bottom half going into Christmas, playing the worst football I’ve ever seen us play. Ended up finishing 8th

But we just had to stick with it because it’s a process

Spurs were consistently finishing top 4 because they had Kane. It’s not the managers problem at Spurs, Conte told everyone that and their fans hounded him out quickly after that interview

Their recruitment is absolutely horrible, basically did a Bale 2.0 with the Kane money - £60m on a one season wonder and the rest of a load of kids who barely play.

The wages are lower compared with other clubs though, so that’s why they can’t buy real talent

I agree Solanke and Johnson were poor signings. Players like that will never get near challenging for the league. Son is old now and he’ll be off in a season or two as well

I don’t think Ange’s football could translate into a title even if you swapped squads tbh - bloke’s got no idea what pragmatic means

Lol, I think most are but not Levy

He’s raking in the money from the hotels, merchandise and that NFL business Spurs are involved in. He probably doesn’t care about Spurs being in the top 4 anymore

Still have my WC and so just looking at fixtures up to GW18. Not convinced Arsenal get a CS at Fulham and Everton may be extra motivated to score in the last derby at Goodison.

    A - Hendo > Raya
    B - Myko > VVD
    C - Roll

    Henderson
    Konsa - Gvardiol - RAN
    Salah - Palmer - Saka - Semenyo
    Cunha - Jackson - Pedro

    Valdi - Myko - Winks - Mosquero
