Probably the worst gameweek ever - wildcarded mostly down to panic and FOMO of having double Liverpool defence and not TAA or Gakpo. Needless to say, went very rogue with an eye on upcoming fixtures and potential doubles.
    Players OUT
    Alisson
    VVD
    Neco Williams
    Elanga
    Mateta
    Raul
    Palmer
    Players IN
    Watkins
    Ramsey
    Schade
    Gakpo
    TAA
+captained TAA due to having the double Liverpool attack
All in all a gigantic 50 (and likely much more) point loss and used wildcard - season over, so much time and effort to kneejerk into oblivion.

i dont understand captaining TAA cuz u have double pool attack especially after selling vvd and Allison

the non pool moves were a bit unlucky. didnt think Mateta and forrest would go crazy even as an owner

I too wanted to make a lot of changes to my team, but realized pretty quickly it was the worst chip to play.

      1. It blocks you from playing AM or TC.
      2. You are completely in the dark when it comes to the double gameweek layout in GW25 and 29.
      3. It burns an important chip needed to restructure after this next series of doubles.

Oh well at this point if I were you I'd just take requisite hits and start moving towards a team that is well rounded.

Brutal swing on those you sold, but maybe you can't really judge it til after GW26 with the Villa doublers (and Salah TC?)

Threw away his wc to get 50 points less mate. It's really bad regardless of anything next gw

Of course it's rough but if Villa have a productive DGW, and the TC pays off big, 50pts can be made back up pretty quickly, and he still has AM to play (and catch up the field with) later, so just trying to say not to give up or punt off the rest of the season just yet

Hopefully some returns from doublers (if Liverpool go through to the final) and Salah TC - but I should've waited and even wildcarded in GW25/26 with more info. Moment of madness even though it felt logical at the time

I turned around a 25 pt deficit in the final GW of the season in one of my minileagues. Anything can happen with so much still to play for with almost 40% of the season left.

Those are the kinds of things that keep me positive after 7 red arrows in a row and a drop from 60k to 600k 😀

      Mate ive had 5 x 7k finishes and never worse than 250k. This season not in top 2 million yet. Its been brutal and feels almost impossible to predict but fantastic as a non FPL spectacle.     My options are;

Moyes to Arteta if Arsenal get past Newcastle..

    Or

Lose Gakpo to Mateta/Wissa or Cunha
    Or Trent to Saliba/Gabriel

    And Moyes to slot

selling a fit and available pool player to accomodate Slot is a really bad strategy imo cuz the upside is extremely limited. its already cost people this week especially those who would have TCed Salah otherwise

not to mention the extra transfer it will cost u. better off going emery or silva (depending on who has dgw)

It's either a bad angle or Amorim was correct with Rashford and his effort in training. He won't be match fit/sharp so I expect cameos from the bench

Not sure it is a bad angle mate - the photos I have seen are directly in front of him. Can't get a fairer angle than that. Also, I have seen 2-3 different photos and he looks overweight in all of them.

Rumours that he has a problem with alcohol and sleeping pills, which is what happened to Dele. Would be one way of explaining the seemingly bloated face, but I think it's just a bad photo tbh.

I have seen a few photos of him now since he joined Villa though so it can't just be one bad photo. He looks fat/bloated. Could be the booze and pills, sure. Booze is a very quick way of adding calories to your diet too (7 calories per gram of alcohol). Actually, if I want to lose weight, I usually just cut out the booze for a few weeks and my weight drops back to normal.

That’s not a flattering photo & whoever released that is probably getting P45, how hard is it to get a smiling photo.
He’s gained a chunk of timber also, hope he can get back to the Rashford from couple of years ago.

Perhaps Villa are playing 4D chess and wanted to publish a rubbish photo to lull opponents into a false sense of security

      2. The Big Fella
        • 9 Years

That is my point - it isn't just the one photo I have seen them release. He looks fat in all of them. Jim above says there are rumours he is on the booze and sleeping pills. Mental health must be in tatters and I doubt the manager calling him out in public every 2 mins is helping.

Malen, who last played a game for Dortmund the 10th of january, are yet to start a game for Villa.

15th - not in the squad
          18th - on the bench
          26th - 23 min
          Feb 1st - 45 min

Having a look forward to WC30, which seems to be a popular plan for many.

You're likely to wanna go with all of three of Salah, Palmer and Saka.

Up top I think it could be really difficult to chose 3 out of Mateta (likely double in 33), Isak (likely double in 33), Wood and Cunha.

He's likely to be back for United and Chelsea in the three weeks before gw30, where Arsenal's fixture turn very good as well. Think it's the perfect time to get him back.

I'm not sure there's likely to be a big swing for those that went Moyes over Slot or vice versa this week?

    I went Moyes.
All of my minileague went Slot.

Assuming there's a winner in that game it's likely to be either

In the region +7-10 for Slot
In the region +17 for Moyes

But presumably most who went Moyes (like me) will have 3 Liverpool players that would give some 'cover' if Liverpool win, so it might work out fairly even?

    1. Pornchef
      • 1 Year

Hopefully works out quite even but who knows

What are you doing with Moyes next game week keeping or moving to another manager?

    2. Odikostar
      • 10 Years

      True. People really overrated it.

I does ofc depend on who people played instead of the liverpool player. If wood then huge, Ndiaye decent, wissa poor.
In defence most played Robinson or Hall probably.

Gotta take into consideration that Liverpool likely get another double though, but we'll see.

A Moyes win could certainly decide a few mini leagues though

    3. x.jim.x
      • 11 Years

Best case scenario for Moyes AMers is an Everton result without any Salah involvement. Most Slot AMers have sacrificed Trent or Gakpo, so you want them in the points if Liverpool are to do anything.

      1. The Big Fella
        • 9 Years

This. Even a draw without Salah involvement would be good as we still get the bonus points for league position, I believe.

          • 11 Years

Yeah, would be 8 points at least (not including clean sheet / goal points).

If Salah scores, and gets the inevitable full bonus, the TCers will havae cooked though.

Yeah big time. Still, I can use my TC later in the season for another double whereas they will have to deploy AM and won't be able to use other chips when the DGW/BGWs are coming thick and fast (I tell myself)

Tell me more! I’m on AM Slot and have sold Gakpo for it. Took evasive action when I learned about DGW25. Now looking when to play TC and BB. Probably TC33 and BB36?

Also looks like FH29 is on the cards due to all value locked up in the likes of Salah, Palmer, TAA and Isak.

I went AM Moyes on back to back DGWs (so five matches in all). Had three Pool and had used TC - and wanted to mitigate TC Salah and AM use by other in ML. I've closed gap on 1 x TC Salah and 1 x AM Slot, but I did have Everton differentials to help. Don't expect an Everton win against Pool but hoping the three Pool players (inc Salah C) and three further AM fixtures should mitigate TC Salah.
