The Numbers Game – Attacking Full-Backs

With clean sheets so scarce again this season, Fantasy managers have been largely forced to look to their defenders for attacking returns. With budget options also proving popular acquisitions, there is a drive to identify those defenders who can perhaps offer supplementary points to add to those rare occasions when they can keep their opponents at bay.

Thankfully, the role of the modern-day full-back in the Premier League also appears to have changed, with the emphasis now on joining the attack and helping provide a stream of opportunities for others.

In this latest article for our members, we cast an eye over those full-backs who have recently impressed in this area, assessing those most likely to deliver those occasional assists that can make all the difference to our Gameweek totals.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is anyone sticking with Walcott? Got a feeling he's about to drop .1 again

So Walcott is safe from dropping tonight?

Also would you swap Walcott and Sterling to Mata and a 4.5 bencher

Would give me Fellanni, Michu, Bale and Mata (4.5 on bench)

Indeed, I had owned him long before then (got him in about GW4) Wish I'd had the tekkers to (c) him that week, but the 24 points came in handy

Spurs did me proud last season for DGWs. Had Friedel, BAE and Bale for the first and Bale and Vdv (c) (for 44 points) in the huge one.

My hunch would be that Rodgers won't be too eager to rush Enrique back into a game without training. So it's pretty likely he will not play in my opinion.

As a result I'm thinking of cutting ties with Enrique...yes he'll be back for the next game but I'm not sure I'm all that bothered with him anymore. It was all about the OOPness and I don't really see the major appeal now that he's just a plain LB that costs 6.0m.

Who to replace him with though? That is the question.

If that the case then maybe i am better to do Bale snodgeass this week,

The transfer decisions this week have done my head in so I'm just going to ask you what transfer/s YOU would do if you had this team:

          Foster,
          Enrique, Cameron, Demel,
          Cazorla, Michu, Fellaini, Sess,
          RVP, Tevez, Berba.
          Subs: Fed, Cuellar, Puncheon, Clyne.

Got 1 FT and 2.3m in the bank. Thanks.

Nothing..Caz is fine this week..Sess is ok because United's defence isn't the best (even though they will get battered)...Then Sess>Mata and Caz > Bale when he drops again...

Walcott to Cazorla for a hit.. normally would say no but Walcott is losing value and Caz could score big this week. If Walcott doesn't play I'll have a 1pt from Sterling to look to.

          My team is

          Jaask
          Enrique - Cameron - Ridgewell
          Michu - Fellaini - Sterling - Sess
          RvP (c) - Suarez - Berba

          Federici - Demel, Mata, Clyne

I have 2 FT and 2.3 in the bank

My plan is to do Sess to Silva (and keep 0.2 in the bank so I can bring in Bale when is fit and if Silva doesn't show some form)
So, it leave me 0.1 to invest in defence. If i sell Ridgewell I will have 5.1 for defender. Who to bring?
          Sagna, Bassong....or someone else.

          Also, how my plan sound?

          Thanks everyone

You think Le fondre to Suarez is a good transfer, or should i concentrate or replacing enrique or mccartney because clyne is out and if they don't play i end up with 10 players.

                for under 5.4

Having studied Doos' table a lot recently I can say you have these options

Sagna - great going forward but suspect at the back

                Mert - Doos' favourite

Clark - poor fixtures in next 3, but Villa looking more solid, have a great run from GW20 and he's a goal threat and BP magnet

Bassong - poor fixtures after this week

                Nelsen - It's QPR

Caulker - Spurs don't keep many CS

could be a decent shout, he's nailed on.

That run of fixtures is the reason I;m keeping Long, and Foster

Issue with WBA atm is they apparently have some injuries, but Clarke is being a bar steward and not telling us who

                No problem.

Mertesacker(5.4) or Winston Reid(5.1). Also Bassong(5.0), but may have shot his bolt, while the first two have better fixtures..

                Cheap options: O'Brien or Nelsen.

All near the top of the form charts.

                  Hmmm.....

Not a fan of the Arsenal D and I can't afford to double up on WHM. Bassong looks a tad expensive for a Norwich defender and QPR are a bit dodgy for my liking.

Olsson & Caulker look tempting, although the latter is a rotation risk. Sagna is injury prone and Nelsen plays for a team that are just plain sh*te!

its a tough one to call. if walcott is fit and plays it could bite u in the assss quite badly.

however if you take out sess and walcott is out then your left with cuellar on the bench.

i guess you need a bit of luck either way and predict the chances of walcott playing
