Wednesday’s midweek matches push the ScoutCast back 24-hours, offering you a Crackerjack style Friday afternoon “treat”. Granville and I could certainly “crush a grape” after reaping the rewards from the Robin Van Persie captaincy and we can’t help allowing our smugness to seep through on several occasions, as we take the opportunity to mock both the Professor and Jonty on the recent failings of Wayne Rooney. Small victories.

Those two characters crash the party to bring us the latest forecast from the Rate My Team computer as part of our weekend preview, while Jonty brings us another “fortunate” member of the community to suffer the usual brand of “Full Jonty” analysis. The familiar smattering of regulars glue it all together, as we keep the momentum going with the finishing line now in sight.

Returning to the premiership player of the year...

My ranking:

1) Bale is clearly the most naturally talented player in the premiership at the moment. Suarez & van Persie are of course fantastic players also.

When you think bale still hasn’t learnt how most effectively to employ himself in the hole.

His movement off the ball is pretty poor still.

Although he gets great returns it could be argued that it has lead to the rest of his team being less effective.

2) If Suarez doesn’t play Liverpool look totally outclassed by most sides.

3) van Persie pretty much always plays (this is classy considering the depth of there squad and their position in the league) and his consistency of returns throughout the season have been second to none.

  I wouldn't say Bale is naturally talented. Fantastic, absolutely fantastic, player, but still a product of training hard(er).
  I'd say we don't know who's the most natural talent in the PL, it could be someone like Taarabt for all I know.

        My old primary school (which had about 35 pupils) won our local school tournament a few years after I left becuase of a guy who barely even made it as a pro (went to ManU academy, played in lower leagues a bit). So yeah, I imagine Bale may have ben a tricky customer at school.....

Good article on previous post but are we not being a little hasty. I've heard the phrase "return of form" a lot regarding Sessegnon, but surely 1 game does not a form make. He has shifted back to behind the striker, but as was said he was there the whole time before Graham arrived wasn't he?
