Wednesday’s midweek matches push the ScoutCast back 24-hours, offering you a Crackerjack style Friday afternoon “treat”. Granville and I could certainly “crush a grape” after reaping the rewards from the Robin Van Persie captaincy and we can’t help allowing our smugness to seep through on several occasions, as we take the opportunity to mock both the Professor and Jonty on the recent failings of Wayne Rooney. Small victories.

Those two characters crash the party to bring us the latest forecast from the Rate My Team computer as part of our weekend preview, while Jonty brings us another “fortunate” member of the community to suffer the usual brand of “Full Jonty” analysis. The familiar smattering of regulars glue it all together, as we keep the momentum going with the finishing line now in sight.

    Silva & Berba > Bale & Kone...

    A) NOW (-4), I have exactly the right funds
    B) After the deadline (FREE), but if Silva drops or Kone rises tonight then I can't afford it.

    Both are moves I planned to make next week but Bale's comeback and Berba's poor form leading to his negative NTI means I'll almost certainly be priced out of it by Sunday

        The -4 points aspect is what puts me off.

        Not taking the hit would mean holding Berba for another 2 weeks which looks like a bad idea given his form, regardless of his opposition. Even then I might have to change plans to accommodate Kone.

          Bale's return should be a surprise because we didn't hear anything to suggest he wouldn't return since the initial 2 week prognosis but somehow it's caught me off guard.

          Go for it if it was always your plan in my advice. Both are doubts and even if you get it wrong this week, you'll be set for the next few weeks.

      Hang on, didn't Carrick say he wouldn't go unless he was going to play regularly?

      Don't get me wrong, on merit this season he would start for England all day long, but he wasn't as good last season and not going was his fault for his ego getting in the way.

        He was as good.

        England couldn't keep hold of the ball on the rare occasion they got it during that match, Carrick is possibly the only one able to drop deep enough to dictate play and tempo. Roy wanted him in as stand in or to sit on the bench for another tournament as he'd already done in 2010.

        He had Scott Parker in over him.

    I have Santi and feel Theo will rip that weak Fulham defence apart this weekend..

    With the DGW approaching, it is no brainer to use the FT's for those who will play in DGW.

    But also, Theo vs Qpr on GW 36

    In GW16 I was ranked 1,164th in the world. It took me 7 weeks until GW22 to reach the heady heights of 148th....

    It's taken me another 11 weeks to get back to EXACTLY 1,164th again.

        Di Canio’s arrival, however, has prompted a change in system and handed the Benin international the chance to influence matters from a central position once more. Tucked in behind a lone striker, his stunning strike at St James’ was supplemented with an assist – only the second time this term he has played a part in more than one goal for the Black Cats. A 13 point FPL haul equalled Sessegnon’s best return of the season and with a strong schedule to follow, he looks a viable contender for our five man midfields once again.
