Granville and I could certainly “crush a grape” after reaping the rewards from the Robin Van Persie captaincy and we can’t help allowing our smugness to seep through on several occasions, as we take the opportunity to mock both the Professor and Jonty on the recent failings of Wayne Rooney. Small victories.

Those two characters crash the party to bring us the latest forecast from the Rate My Team computer as part of our weekend preview, while Jonty brings us another “fortunate” member of the community to suffer the usual brand of “Full Jonty” analysis. The familiar smattering of regulars glue it all together, as we keep the momentum going with the finishing line now in sight.

A quick note for all my friends here at FFS:

Last week I brought up an interesting new idea for my unused Wildcard....I was suggesting that I save it for GW38. I had a 22 point lead last week in my ML, and I thought that I could maintain the lead and then get all the best players in GW38 to ensure victory.

Several of you told me it was a dumb idea. One of the key suggestions was that I should use it now for DGW33 and go for the jugular to get up by 60 points.

Well I did use it, and now I'm up by 58.

Just when I thought I could count on you people, you go and let me down like this. You say I'll be up by 60 and now I'm only up by 58.

Thanks for nothing. Sheesh. I thought you people were smart.

      I was surprised to see Zaba drop out for Richards as he has been one of City's best players this season. Hopefully more a case of integrating Micah back in the team than replacing him. He should be restored to the starting Xl this weekend and I think he could get some attacking points @ Spurs.

As a follow on question, would you play Davies ahead of benteke or berbatov and play a 4 man defence? I'm thinking not as I like cheering for goals rather than clean sheets.

  nah i think you have to play berb, he can score in any game, bit like lambert in that sense, is kinda annoying. And think benteke is less likely to get a yellow than davies so has to be bent eke

    Bale's left foot doesn't care how good the defence is. Every game is different and WHL is a difficult place to get a CS.

        There are always risks to whoever you bring in and as much as it can go against you it can equally pay off with a player of his ability. You can sit and be cautious all season and miss out on alot of good moves. Also I don't think AVB is naive enough to jeopardise his fitness long term.
