Denied winnings by the woodwork after Robin van Persie notched one but struck the bar against Palace, we’re three Flutters down and still without a win. Nevertheless, we’re turning up with another tenner this week, determined to turn the tide via another array of Scout Pick’s inspired markets from Paddy Power.

Before we look at those, however, a reminder of Paddy’s special odds on offer for Sunday’s Manchester derby. If you’ve yet to sign up for an account with Paddy, you can get exclusive enhanced 7/1 odds on a United win against City. The regular odds are 23/10 so this is a great deal for those who register new accounts ahead of Sunday’s clash.

If you’re an existing customer, you can still take advantage of a Paddy offer – there’s a a money back special on Sunday’s clash – if United win the game, they’ll refund any losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on the match.

Moving to this week’s Flutter markets, we start with the hot favourite for the Gameweek armband. Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud tops our poll with 22% of the vote ahead of Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge, with both strikers having claimed four goals in four league starts thus far. Both find a home in this week’s Picks, although we’re looking to Giroud to help us prise some cash from Paddy Power. Our bookmaker friends are offering 8/1 on Giroud scoring two or more goals with an Arsenal clean sheet against visiting Stoke; we’re happy to take them up on that to the tune of £3 of our stake.

As we move into the Scout Picks midfield, we find a man in form in the shape of Swansea’s Mihcu. Having notched in back-to-back matches this week, Michu makes a trip to Selhurst Park on Sunday, perhaps leggy from Europa League exploits but, nonetheless, sure to provide the key threat to Ian Holloway’s men. The Spaniard takes pride of place back in our Picks for the first time this season and Paddy have put odds of 15/2 on Michu netting a third goal in a week, with the Swans keeping a shut-out. We’ll gladly throw them another £3 of our tenner on this one.

Finally, Hatem Ben Arfa is another man in form and heavily backed going into the Gameweek. With Hull City visiting St James’ Park, many have already banked a third consecutive win for Alan Pardew’s outfit. If that turns out to be the case, then Ben Arfa is surely set to play his part. Paddy have a Ben Arfa goal with a Newcastle shut-out at 7/1, making it our bet of the week and enough to prise the final £4 from our mitts.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Because he scored mid-week and will therefore obviously score again! This is the rule of Fantasy Football! 😀

To be fair he's been close many times this season, I swapped him for Ramsey to free up funds and am sticking with Giroud as captain. He may well get marked out of the game at Stoke though, freeing up some midfield attacking runs to grab goals...

      1: He just scored mid-week.
2: He's due in the league after so many chances.
3: Boring with Giroud and think his streak may end.

      In summary.. Just pure guess.

    Captaincy thoughts...shared....

My last early kick off captain - Dzeko - failed abysmally. So I have ruled Benteke out, despite Villa's recent good record v Norwich.

I'm not convinced Arsenal will steamroll Stoke, so I am tentative about the Giroud/Walcott captaincy.

The City/United game will be tight and I don't see many goals - the top games this season have been bereft of goals also. RVP?

If I knew Lamps was going to get 60 mins+ I would give him the armband.

If I had Michu I would probably edge that way...

As for HBA owners who are giving him the armband - very best of luck. I can't help remembering the good show Hull put up against City and they could easily have got something out of that game. Not a certainty that Newcastle will score a couple of goals and HBA is the type of player who tends not to score consistently.

As for my personal captaincy shout I'm stuck 🙂

    Hows everyone doing?

Presume lots of people have a captaincy dilemma, might just go for Walcott as I'm not really convinced with any of my other options, tbh I'd take 6/7 points from my captain now if it was offered.

Anyway, best of luck to everyone as always.

As a Chelsea supporter think there's enough of a chance of him being dropped after his recent performances that its not worth the risk

Ok ive captained Benteke over Giroud and Walcott. Stoke will play 11 behind the ball.

Who are the players who you don't want to perform well this week?
For me, it is Sturridge and Michu.

Rooney, I'm getting him in this week and this year seems even more bandwagon-y than before. You really need to try get players in before they start going on good runs.
