Following last week’s launch of the FFS World Cup 2014, we opened the game for captain applications. We would like to thank all the 48 applicants, who took the bold leap of faith towards captaincy. For those of you who applied to be captains but were not chosen, you can still participate in the game. If you were wanting more of a leadership role, feel free to talk to a captain and see if they could have you as a vice-captain.

How can you join the fun?

Starting immediately, the captains are allowed to begin recruiting for their 5 team members, including the captain. Each team captain decides who we wants in his team from now until the 11th of Jun. So those interested in joining a team, please approach the respective captain.

You can always refer to the Cup Spreadsheet for more details and to keep up to date with the recruiting.

Special Feature:

For those who played in the Beach Soccer World Cup, you would remember the Live Scorecast developed by Pratik. You will be delighted to know that Pratik along with Isacki are looking to develop something similar for this game. Stay tuned!

Thomass on becoming Spain captain

Board member: Hi there ladies and gentlemen welcome to the new era of Spanish football. Today we start planning for the future and my pleasure of telling you the new captain of the Spanish national team, as from today Thomass will be the Spain captain. His deputy will be will be confirmed in due course. It's a great day I celebrate the honour of congratulating both gentlemen's so my pleasure to hand over to the host BonZ to tell us where we are.

BonZ: Thanks BM, Choosing Thomass was a tough decision but in my eyes I think Thomass was the number one candidate to take Spain forward. Having said all of that it is very exciting to move forward with the leadership of Thomass captaining the Spanish national team and the vice captain, we have been considering this role for some time. Thomass has had opportunities during the last few years guiding Hoffenhiem to glory in the Europa league final and he has also contributed in major events, he was our number one choice. I'm sure Thomass will do a great job. It is very exciting time for Spanish football. Over to Thomass.

Thomass: Thanks BonZ, good morning everyone. Firstly can I what an honour it is to be named the captain of Spain. I am very proud to captain Spain, it's something that I never thought I would do in my times as an FFS member. To all the board members and BonZ thank you for giving me this opportunity. I look to make this a team that everyone is proud of. I want our players to be connected to the public this means that I want them to come out and give interviews to reporters. The new era begins today with scouting some tremendous talented players. I am looking forward to it. Looking ahead to the World Cup we hope to have a strong squad with tremendous talents, I am confident we can get over there and be successful and start this journey with a great start.
