The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team†(RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen’s inclusion was reliant on his move to Manchester United, which now looks to have fallen through. Who should he replace him with?

He concedes Charles N’Zogbia is a huge punt in midfield. Is it a gamble too far? Alexis Sanchez is an insurance policy and he feels he can easily downgrade the Arsenal midfielder to his cheaper team mate Aaron Ramsey.

        would you say sanchez is worth the 10.5? or should i swap for hazard then get shane long up front instead of Bojan?

          Bojan is better than Long, put Ramsey in as do you think that Sanchez will score 16% more points than him! as his price suggests.

      You want to maximise your attack. 442 is unlikely to be optimal long term.

          Joking aside it looks pretty good.

          I would be tempted to Hazard/Sturridge > Costa/Sterling as the subsequent £2.5m upgrade to defense would get you more points in the long run but I can imagine you're happy with them in your team 🙂

            I prefer to start with the cash piled up in few places rather than scattered. Easier to gather up when I need it. Flexibility is key imo.

            Also it gives better (C) options.

    With 1m still in the bank!

    Very flexible team, can downgrade Sanchez or Hazard if someone like Sturridge or Aguero start firing. Or can upgrade Cout --> Sterling, or upgrade someone to a Chelsea defender.

    Also Burnley and QPR rotate decently so can play Mutch or Jutkiewicz based on fixtures

      Good one! Bears significant similarities to my team, which is also something "different".
      I hope we both may be on a right track...
      Still undecided on Sanchez/Ramsey, though. Upgrading Dorrans and/or Jutkiewicz possible if I go for Ramsey. Everton seem out of sorts, so I back Leicester, tight and fired up newcomers, to get a cs. Risky, of course, but impossible is nothing.
      Henderson for Coutinho also a possible route to freeing up some funds. Should I?
      A) Lamela, Henderson, Ramsey or
      B) Dorrans, Coutinho, Sanchez?

    a) Sanchez , Mata , Wickham
    b) eriksen , dzeko , rambo

    I think b is the better option or perhaps the safer option . Double United attack looks great for the first three , I think it will take a massive scramble to get Sanchez in and I think he could be captaincy material far more explosive than Ramsey, I think Wickham could be an excellent pick. He has had a good pre season , pens , form at the end of last year .

        There have been so many poor strikers that have scored well in preseason, generated a bandwagon and then flopped. 10 stone Bojan might score a few in friendlies but his history says he won't do it once the physical demands ramp up next week.

      Nice team, agree with the 9m mids. Wouldn't pick Jovetic over Dzeko but you realise he's a very short term pick.

      Have a look at QPR's home fixtures up to January, think Green is a better shout than Krul or Foster. Or Rio could be that 4.5m.

    Hi guys. My first time in the chatroom. I was uncertain if I should upgrade my account for this season since i didn´t use it alot last season. Im in alot of money leagues and would love to get a feedback from you guys on my team! Haven´t been changing it alot but since I started reading your thoughts im thinking about dropping Cesc and punting for Costa instead.

    Debuchy, Evans, Cameron, Van Aanholt, Wisdom

    Ramsey, Eriksen, Mata, Ward-Prowse, Albrighton

    Sturridge, Costa, Lukaku

    Nothing in the bank. Im thinking about a 5 mill midfielder - which option would be the best one. Going with Ward-Prowse as it stands.

        My honest opinion is, Sturridge & Lukaku have a tough start but possibly worth the gamble

        Yup Sterling would go if I were to go for Hazard. Haven't seen much from Hazard in pre-season though, you think he'll start strongly?

        The other worry is Fab plays deeper.
