If I put myself in Deeney's shoes, I do the same thing. His son has breathing difficulties reportedly, and protecting his life is far more important than his job. Luckily for him, he is well off. The rest of us aren't, so we'd work. Deeney can sit at home for a year and he would be fine. You and I can't - it's not a comparable situation. » Read

“I think Alexander-Arnold is one of the best in the world, no doubt about it. He’s a great player and I would say he has the same characteristics as I did. He has got big potential. He is strong and skilful, he really takes the game forward and he’s a player who sets up goals for Liverpool. I would say he’s got a Brazilian instinct in the way he plays. My advice for him is simple: just keep doing what you have been doing for the last few years. Alexander-Arnold shouldn’t change his way of playing. Even if he makes mistakes, he should carry on doing what he’s doing. I think he has what it takes to become a Ballon d’Or winner. We have to change this paradigm where the Ballon d’Or is only won by attackers and strikers. People have to see that defenders are just as important as attackers.” Cafu, one of the best RBs of all time. You stick to quotes from PVA 😉 » Read

Yep. PL will probably have plans already and they'll be speaking to clubs about them. We're only ever going to find out about confirmed dates and confirmed changes. They're probably discussing a wide variety of options, scenarios and outcomes - it's better that all these discussions do not become public knowledge. » Read

  14. Six positive coronavirus tests across three Premier League clubs 5 days, 15 hours ago

While I agree that football shouldn't return in June, I don't agree that we should wait until a vaccine. Most, if not all clubs would go bust by then. Just like every other business, football will have to find a way to move to a new version of normal. It's worth noting that all 20 clubs unanimously agreed to commence small group training from today. So while some figures are going public with their desire to halt the season, the votes from the top suggest otherwise. » Read

I'm not sure I understand the logic in keeping it private once the PL resumes seeing as we'll know which players are missing out on line ups are announced. I do understand why they've kept the current results private, seeing as there's no immediate games. » Read
