  2. Which FPL players are on international duty and who will miss Gameweek 4? 18 days, 11 hours ago

Apparently the Premier League record for headed goals is 9 in a season (Duncan Ferguson - who also liked heading other players' heads for fun). » Read

  3. Martinez and Buendia to miss Gameweek 4 as injuries and Covid also hit Villa 20 days, 9 hours ago

Agree about Benrahma, they're supposedly signing Nikola Vlasic and Moyes has made it quite obvious he isn't 100% sold on Benrahma with multiple "he's playing very well but..." type statements. I have Benrahma and I'm not getting rid of him, but if I were on a wildcard I'd be a bit worried. » Read

  4. FPL Gameweek 3 round-up: Sunday’s goals, assists, bonus and injuries 21 days, 10 hours ago

It's a bit of a blind guess either way. If I had to put my money on it I'd guess he doesn't play from the start against Newcastle based on the fact he isn't arriving in the UK until after Portugal's last game (7 September - the Newcastle game is on 11 September) and the fact Ole has previously been a bit cautious with rushing new players into the team. Wouldn't be surprised if he did play from the start though so who knows. » Read

  5. Kane and Son start as Llorente returns for Leeds 21 days, 23 hours ago

To me, letting the game flow is ignoring small niggly half-fouls, not giving people a yellow instead of a red for a reckless lunge like Barnes did. » Read

  6. FPL Team Reveal: Why Ronaldo's move has changed my transfer plans 23 days, 14 hours ago

Ronaldo's arrival will surely have a bit of a ripple effect on other players - is Bruno off penalties, does Greenwood lose his place, is Lingard going to be sold to recoup some money and push Benrahma out the West Ham team, etc. Not sure of the answers to any of those questions, but gameweek 4 is potentially looking like a mess for me at any rate. » Read

  7. FPL Gameweek 3 preview: The players and teams with eye-catching stats 24 days, 7 hours ago

I think Bamford will outscore him. Last season their expected goal involvements per 90 were fairly close (Raphinha 0.60 / Bamford 0.65) but Bamford's were heavily weighted toward goals rather than assists in comparison and he might take some penalties this year. This season in two games Bamford still has a higher expected goal involvement per 90. Plus Bamford had more minutes last season, which might just be random (Raphinha's injury) but might not be. Not to mention the Brazil thing/travel issues. Put simply if you genuinely ignored price and I had to put my life savings on it I would pick Bamford. I don't think it's a massive gap, but I can't really see a reason to pick Raphinha in that situation. » Read

Of course it's guesswork and assumption - were you expecting me to break into Potter's office and steal all his team-sheets? » Read

  10. FPL Gameweek 3 preview: The players and teams with eye-catching stats 24 days, 12 hours ago

I don't think he'll start in the long-term: 1. Potter hardly played him in his first season, loaned him out last season and was rumoured to be trying to sell him earlier in the summer. The assumption is he didn't rate him because of his lack of ability on the ball as Potter wants his teams to play out from the back. 2. Brighton have three defenders to come back into the side. Veltman will definitely be back by gameweek 4 and can play as a centre back, Lamptey might be back by then too, Dan Burn is also out but seems to be taking longer. Duffy is presumably rated below all three of them by Potter (Lamptey is a right back but could push Veltman into a centre back spot if he were fit potentially). 3. There have been some rumours about Brighton signing another wingback which throws some more competition into the mix for defensive positions. » Read

  11. Benrahma, Barnes, Pogba: Who are the best mid-price midfielders for GW3? 26 days, 5 hours ago

He could easily be out the side by gameweek 4 or 5 given there's a long international break to come and they have three defensive players to come back from injury. They're also rumoured to be signing Cucurella which adds more competition in defensive positions. » Read

  12. Benrahma, Barnes, Pogba: Who are the best mid-price midfielders for GW3? 26 days, 11 hours ago

For context, you're getting a lot of fairly aggressive criticism here from a person that has multiple dubious picks like Dallas in their team, no Bruno or Salah, is ranked outside the top 2 million and seems to have had a best result of 246,000 in over a decade of playing the game (and that was five years ago). I wouldn't pay much attention to that, your team looks good to me and fairly future proof as you don't have many rotation risks in there. » Read

  13. Benrahma, Barnes, Pogba: Who are the best mid-price midfielders for GW3? 26 days, 13 hours ago

He still looked quite raw to me, there were a couple of moments where he took a poor touch or made a poor decision. Great talent but probably a while before he's a regular on that evidence. » Read

  14. Does Jesus's star turn on the right flank spell bad news for Mahrez in Gameweek 3? 27 days, 6 hours ago

I think there's a big difference which is that Livramento is keeping a fully fit KWP out the team at the moment whereas Duffy only got in after injuries to other players. You've got Veltman, Lamptey, Burn and maybe a new signing (Cucurella) all coming in to play in defensive positions in the coming weeks and Potter has never seemed to rate Duffy very highly in the past. » Read

  15. Does Jesus's star turn on the right flank spell bad news for Mahrez in Gameweek 3? 27 days, 6 hours ago

As far as I understand it, he can still drop but there's a higher threshold for it to happen than if he wasn't flagged. » Read

  16. Does Jesus's star turn on the right flank spell bad news for Mahrez in Gameweek 3? 27 days, 7 hours ago

Can't see much of a case for it other than just being different for the sake of it. Antonio has outscored him in both games, would be expected to outscore him under normal circumstances, much better xG and xA numbers in the first two games, less likely to be subbed off out of the two. » Read

I've never really understood how they account for that. Do they just set some kind of average ownership percentage and base price moves off that? » Read

  18. Antonio the most-owned player on show for West Ham v Leicester 27 days, 18 hours ago

The problem is Potter dropped him in his first season, loaned him out last season, and was trying to sell him just a few weeks ago. He's praising him now but I would suggest his past actions probably say more about whether he rates him or not. The issue with Duffy has always been his inability to play the kind of possession game Potter likes and I think for that reason he'll eventually get dropped. » Read

  19. Budget FPL players Duffy and Bissouma catch the eye as Toney shows more threat 28 days, 1 hour ago

It's not clear to me how they can actually do this as FIFA have changed the rules. The Athletic article doesn't really say much about that, it just says Liverpool intend to prevent him going. » Read
