you could start grealish and use a defender as auto-sub if he doesnt come on rationale - if he is coming on we are probably chasing anyway » Read

All in on England. This is the first final in my lifetime, i dont really care about fantasy football at this point so why not double the payoff if we win. » Read

5 Eng. I think you have to go 4-5 all in on either unless you have a massive lead. Your rivals who are chasing will be doing this » Read

this is very true. based on current info im viewing Mahrez as a 3 week placeholder/cashcow for anyone and Welbeck is really keeping Pukki's seat warm. Robbo+Buendia is another configuration that looks valid. » Read

I think the optimal strategy is to go 5 England or 5 Italy. Anyone chasing should be going to go for this, and likewise if you are protecting a small lead, you are forced to adopt the same strategy to neutralise it (then its a 50:50 coin flip that you picked the same team they did). The only instance where you should go for a mix imo is if you have enough of a cushion. If you want to try and shoot the moon i suppose you could do 3 of each and hope for a 120 minute 0-0! The rest of the team kind of picks itself because both teams effectively play with a front 3, so you might as well go with those as having the best chance of scoring. The central mids of both teams are really suboptimal picks (mount ok i suppose). » Read

If I recall correctly, Perez was the most underpriced player in the game a few years back and everyone had shot of him by the first wildcard. Although he was a new signing, whilst Rafa isnt to be fair. Buendia is however. » Read

Sanchez James, but this really is the sweet spot with Shaw, Digne & Stones are all excellent as well Ayling probably, but 5.5 is too good to be honest Rafa, Harrison, Mount probably in that order » Read

I do think it will be one of Villa and Leeds who will have a very good season this year - if one of them starts well that can often continue (fellaini, michu, ramsey, mahrez) as the team abuses a winning tactic / partnership until the rest of the league cottons on. If I had to choose though I think it would be Leeds. They finished last season well and Villa are in flux with players coming in/out. » Read

points per million is terrible across the whole team (15-20, rather than 20-25), with the exception of the one premium you get to captain each week (35-40, but that will be matched by your rivals). when you crunch the numbers you'll realise it looks pretty but its a fundamentally flawed strategy. » Read

I thought at times yesterday he seems to think he's playing Rugby, just hoofing it into touch or upfield to the opposite sides #15. Made a few smart stops though and is quite vocal. I dont think he should be Englands #1 on merit, but then again Alf Ramsey didnt pick the best 11 players either. I do like Southgates approach of staying loyal to players which is probably more of a benefit with respect to actually a building a cohesive unit then chopping and changing at a whim. » Read

ok that works actually. but then its a call as to whether 30 minutes of Grealish is better than 60 minutes of Saka. I suppose a lot will be path dependent. are England protecting or chasing? also the teams mentality - are they looking to win it (like they did against Denmark), or are they trying not to lose it (like Italy did against Spain). » Read
