With all the discussion on Kane, I thought it'd be worthwhile to see how Kane's performance varies when Son is out of the team. Last season he started 27 games in the league, 16 where Son played more than 45 minutes and 11 where he didn't.Interestingly of his 17 Premier League goals, only 3 were in the games where Son played less than 45 minutes. Moreover, of the 9 games where Kane registered 5 or more shots, only one of these came without Son in the team. Indeed, his per game stats shown below tell a similar story.Kane's per game stats with Son/(without Son)Shots: 4.5/(2.7) Goals: 0.88/(0.27) Key Passes: 1.31/(0.82) Assists: 0.13/(0.18) xG: 0.76/(0.36) xA: 0.18/(0.15)As well as offering substantially more goal threat, it appears that even Kane's assist potential is greater when Son is playing, averaging more key passes and expected assists as well.Bearing all of this in mind, I would suggest that it's perhaps wise to avoid Kane until Son's return in GW3. You never know with pre-season, injuries etc. Besides, even if second choice he could still be on pens for the 20/30 mins he is on the pitch. » Read

I expect Zinchenko will get the LB spot to start off with at least, he was exceptional towards the end of last season.I prefer Balbuena because of goal threat, but there's not much between them really. » Read

I like Balbuena, but he doesn't rotate with Targett particularly well. Koscielny maybe, if you have the extra 0.5.Fair enough with Tielemans. I understand I am in the minority and you can always switch him out if he does underperform. My team as of now is:Heaton, Button TAA, Robertson, Digne, Zinchenko, Balbuena Salah, KDB, B Silva, Sigurdsson, Dendoncker Wilson, Jota, WickhamSubject to a lot of change though, naturally. » Read

Taylor a rotation risk with Pieters signing. Not sure on Tielemans personally, but I very much like the team otherwise 🙂 » Read

Wickham and B Silva are in my team at the moment. Yarmolenko unlikely to be OoP with Chicharito and Antonio around, but if he were I'd be interested. Dalot very much a no-go for me.Lloris, Koscielny, Pereyra and Andone are some interesting less popular picks I think. » Read

  16. Salah's FPL appeal boosted by early AFCON exit for Egypt 12 days, 10 hours ago

Great post as always! As someone who owned Salah and TAA for much of last season, Milner's inclusion was always something I looked out for.Towards the end of the season, Klopp preferred Keita to him in the "easier" games, a trend I hope will continue with Oxlaide-Chamberlain providing another more offensive option next season. Particularly when considering Salah and the games we'd likely want to captain him for.As for them overperforming defensively, I believe Alisson is a huge factor in this. I personally expect them to concede a similar amount of goals, so long as him and VVD remain fit. » Read
